  1. Funny... I've read an interview with Jason Momoa a few weeks back about the new Conan movie, and am just rewatching Atlantis season two. Hadn't made the link though.... Probably because he looks a whole lot different as Conan compared to his character Ronon Dex in Stargate Atlantis. This is how he looks now: http://www.filmschoolrejects.com/news/jason-momoa-shows-the-bulk-of-conan.php If you ask me, pretty close to more than a few of the drawings shown above. Still, I look forward to this movie. And, well, face it. The first movie was pretty good mainly because of James Earl Jones, Max von Sydow and Sandahl Bergman. The second movie just sucked. BTW, anyone would make a guess as to which actress will play Red Sonja in the remake? This Is still a rumour, but I'm pretty sure that will recieve a remake as well. Brigitte Nielsen was, well, okay... But as I'm know reading the new Red Sonja graphic novels, they could do better. Just hope they don't cast Halle Berry or something... They already screwed that up casting her as Ororo Munroe (Storm) in the X-Men trilogy.... Talking about degrading a character....
  2. Hey, I liked it!! Okay, to be true we didn't have a lot of great morning cartoons here in Holland, so we had to make due. My kid brother even had the GeoCruiser playset. Should still be around here somewhere... I still miss the original ThunderCats though, one of the coolest cartoons from the late 80's early 90's. Well, the intro is ow my ringtone on my cellphone. What was the saying again? Oh right... "By your powers combined... I AM CAPTAIN PLANET!!!!!!!!" B))
  3. What, you think it could do "The Time Warp Again!!!!!"
  4. I'm hoping for an armored Ozma as well. Never liked Alto's fighter (or Alto himself...). A VF-25G 'Michael' with Super parts and sniper rifle would be great as well. Or Luca's RVF-25 complete with Ghosts. Keep dreaming...
  5. Sorry about the typo. I meant the VF-19 book of course. Just took a look at the books again. The funny thing about the VF-19 & VF-25 books are the "VIP" versions. Would be nice to have a VF-fighter as your private luxury jet!! B)) I bet a second VF-25 book is in the making, showing more of the armored FAST packs. I also hope they will release the Macross master files. SDF-1, Macross 25 etc. Perhaps joined in a single book. A VF-27 and VF-0 (with SV-51 perhaps) would be great as well. A book showing the Destroids would also be nice. BTW, this may have been brought up already, but after rewatching Macross Zero recently, I noticed that Ozma's VF-25S Messiah's head is extremely similar to the head of the Bird-Human. Anyone else noticed this as well?
  6. I can't believe I missed out on this.... Hopefully HLJ will receive more in the future. It would be nice to see if there will be any other liveries or variants. Very cool looking Valk!! BTW, this wasn't in the Macross Frontier series wasn't it?
  7. I'm thankful I preordered mine as well, I love books with schematics of scifi stuff. I even have the older 'Robotech/Macross' book with all the VF-1 stuff, as well as from Macross II. But none of hose compare to the Master File series. Luckily I was able to get both VF-1 books and the VF-11 book as well. Love the exact scale (1:144) drawings. Oly drawback is that I can't read Japanese. A translation would be great, I'm sure there is a market for that.
  8. I just received my YF-21 last week from HLJ's Summer sale (got the FastPack parts and fold booster as well), but this beautiful (HUGE) Valk is a pain to transform... Well, luckily my vacation is coming, just 3 more days working. I'll be able to proper figire out the toy, and hopefully take some pics of my collection. Only one I need now is the VF-0, and perhaps the YF-19. And of course the VF-17!!
  9. Thanks for the replies. I've searched Mahq and have found a few designs. Only the battlecruiser was interesting enough.
  10. Does anybody know where I can find good images of Mecha and Vehicles from Eureka Seven? Ever since I found this image: Eureka Seven: Gound KLF's I've been fascinated with those designs, but can only find some weird (typical anime) images of brightly colored children piloting even weirder looking wake-boarding Mecha. I've found a few video's on Youtube, and it seems this is "one of those" Anime's/OVP's with very cute looking characters mixed with brutal violence and mecha. If anybody here knows a good sourcefor images of the aircraft, and especially those ground tanks, that would be fantastic!! :)
  11. Incredible craftmanship!! I never noticed the VF-19 has such a lifting body shape. I't really flat apart from the huge intakes/enginebays. Probably one of the coolest looking VF's ever. BTW, anybody here notices the similarities between the VF-19 and the "Mig-31 Firefox"... Striking!!
  12. That's something I never quite understood... *Rant mode ON* Listen people, however cool it looks, YOU DON'T NEED WHEELS IN SPACE!!! The concept of a spaceborne aircraft carrier launching VF's from the flightdeck as if they were on sea is ridiculous, and a waste of time. Just launch them from bays (like the Ghost fighters in the final episode of Frontier), or deploy them directly into space from launcharms (as on the original SDF). Wheels won't work in space (I think the rubber would not even withstand the temperature changes/zero-gravity), but even if they do, the fighters would just float away from the flightdeck. In my opinion, the coolest way of depicting a multiple fighter launch in space (specifically Macross) is how the Guantanamo-stealthcarrier works. *Rant mode OFF* :D
  13. Well, Klan does make the 'biggest' impression... :P But i'll have to agree, Nanase would be nice too, or should I say TWO BTW, while we're on the subject of Macross: Frontier figures, how about some 1/60th versions of the Vajra? Eespecially the main beast? Or would this qualify as mecha? They are biological (bio-tech perhaps)creatures after all. And the complete Pixie Squadron would be nice as well.
  14. Me too!! You can never have to many Klan Klang figurines!! And this is genuine 1/72nd scale as well! Can't wait for this baby to arrive! She would look perfect next to my other Klan statue.
  15. Must...Have...Green VF-27!!!!! Damn, that baby looks nice!! It's nice that Bandai adds the supportstruts for the foldbooster though, now if the fold booster would have been readiliy available as well... BTW, are those standard Bandai stands? Looks nice!
  16. I just saw this movie tonight. Great movie! Actually a lot better then the original series. At least here people really get hurt when they start shooting. In the series everyone always walked away after a gunfight. I have to agree though, the final scene with the boat was way over the top, even for "The A-Team". Still, I really enjoyed it. Just too bad I missed out on Dwight Schultz and Dirk Benedict. They were in the movie (as could be expected) but I didn't recognize them. One cool reference in the movie though, there appears a credit on a movie in the movie stating "Reginald Barclay", i.e. Dwight Schultz's recurring character on both Star Trek: The Next Generation and Star Trek Voyager.
  17. Forum software has been updated since my last visit I notice. Not bad, not bad at all! Anyway, I just received my VF-27 today. Well... BEST. VALK-TOY. EVER!!! Beautiful model, and, contrary to Yamato Valks, it's 'tight', meaning no floppy/haning parts (well, not out of the box). I was surprised how small it was though. I had expected it to be much bigger, at least the size of the SV-51. I haven't transformed it to Gerwalk or batroid yet though.
  18. I really need to take a few pics of my Valk's... I've got a few good ideas about poses, but will probably wait until the VF-27 gets here. That Quarter looks sweet... HLJ has it on sale now, cheaper than most of the 1/60 Valks... Tempting, so tempting...
  19. Well, green looks great too! Perhaps in the future... I'd actually would like to see a custom painted VF-27. In black! Perhaps with a few (not too many) tribal markings.
  20. I've seen enough! Order placed! Now, if anyone's interested in unloading a couple of Bandai's 1/72nd kits...
  21. Man... A few months not on this board and they release a VF-27 in 1/60th scale... I totally missed out on this one. Backordered at HLJ at the moment. I guess I'm going to have to get this baby. Just wondering, how's the landing gear? The other DX Valks from Bandai have this crappy rear landing gear, but from the photo's I've seen this one looks pretty good. Anyone here who has a good photo of it?
  22. I just saw Avatar last week, and must say I was stunned. Very good movie. Visuals are unbelievable. The Na'vi looked pretty good as well (of course they are fake, but they were better than Gollum...). I agree that any sequals will lack the magic of the first movie, but if they are done by James Cameron himself, they will probably turn out pretty good as well. Now, for the movie itself... Did I miss anything about the Stereolithographer? I can't remember hearing about it... I also hope the book used for making the movie (Pandora-encyclopedia) will be released soon. It's a filmmakers "bible" with all the information needed about Pandora animal and plant life, as well as huge amounts of other stuff. BTW, is it just me, or did that giant Dragon quad-helo thing looked alot like the dropship from Aliens... I guess you can tell who made the first design sketches for it... James Cameron himself. He also made up the Colonial Marines Dropship. There were other very interesting machines in the movie. The giant dumptrucks for example, and the huge bucket wheel excavator (based on the German Bagger 288, the largest land based machine ever built, and I tell ya, it's huge!!!). Oh well, I'll just have to wait one week, before I'll receive the 'Art of Avatar'. ^_^
  23. In my opinion (judging from the pictures) the $ 2,000 USD (or € 1,600 euro) price tag is way to high for this model. My other hobby is collecting scale model cranes and construction equipment in 1/50th scale. Just last year there was a model released of the PTC (Platform Twinring Containerized) crane from Mammoet. The model was set at € 1,500 euro's. Fully built it stands about 2,5 meters (around 8 feet) tall, and features amazing detail, plus it's constructed almost completely from metal. For the 1/2000th scale SDF-1 (only 60 cm's long !!) I would pay no more than € 400 euro's, if it was the TV-version with Deadalus & Prometheus fitted. For this model to be worth $ 2,000 USD it would at least have to be somewhere around 1/700th scale with an app. length of about 170 cm's (such as modern battleship kits). Just my two cents...
  24. Still waiting for the Nora SV-51y, Go Shogun / Macron 1 from HLJ and the Klan Klang Queadluun. But... I did receive my Klan Klang figurine today. Man she's huge, and not just 'on top', really big model. Looks great on my shelf!
  25. Remko

    HLJ Yamato sale

I ordered the SV-51y Nora (50 % off!!) and the Go Shogun 15,5 cm toy (childhood sentiment, although I know it as Macron 1). They've already been shipped, so hopefully they'll arrive soon!!
