It's not beyond reason that they'd create a product to pre-empt, or actually compete with, a 3P company. I listened to an interview with Aaron Archer that gave quite a bit of insight to how Hasbro and Takara think. They keep a ton of files on all 3rd party products.

I'm a bit more optimistic about it. Can't remember where I read it, but there is unofficial word that Sunstreaker is in the works. Seems like an indication that Takara is planning to do all the cars. And if they don't, 3P companies will be more than ready to take our money.

The evil Constructicons built Megatron.
Megatron then brainwashed the good Constructicons to be evil.
And then Megatron et al traveled to Earth and built the Constructicons.
`Hah! That's the one.
-
Looks nice, but I imagine an official one can't be too far off.
-
Don't the Cosntructicons have three conflicting origin stories in the cartoon?
There are at least two. One where Megatron builds them and another where they build Megatron. Not sure what the third one could be.

They're movie sequels. It only makes sense for the writers to have seen the preceding movies. The "dumb popcorn movie" excuse has always been thin. When you create a fictional story, you make your own rules. Orci & Kurtzman gave them alot to build on. I'm sure Bay wanted to leave his mark, but it becomes blatantly obvious when a writer/creator is attempting to break or rewrite already established rules. Perfect example: By the middle of season 1, the Autobots could no longer fly.

starsaber diecast content.
That's impressive! It's a pleasant surprise. Chances of buyer's remorse are significantly decreased.

Wow, Takara's Generations Arcee makes the Hasbro version look like an unpainted reject. Even their Windblade looks much better. Their Arcee has me considering replacing my iGear Delicate Warrior.
I have Hasbro Arcee pre-ordered. I just looked up a side-by-side comparison pic. It made me sad.

Looks good. I see a missed opportunity to include necks on the lions. But the ankle articulation will give this Voltron a definite edge over others.

I won't lie, I bought the Blu ray, and at some point I'll even watch it.

I'll be holding off. A few factors will determine whether I pick up AoE, Bay not returning is #1 among them.

Jetfire arrived today. So of course I had to brew up a quick Photoshop dogfight.

Wow. Three whole years. I'm eager to see who the adversary is this season.

Is that the Junkion Blacksmith kit? Looks great!

OK, Toys R Us really has to get their act together with online orders. I've ordered from them perhaps five times in as many years and they screwed up two of those. Shitty track record. I got an email from them yesterday telling me that they were cancelling my pre-order for Jetfire. So I went ahead and pre-ordered it elsewhere. Today I get an email from TRU. You guessed it..."Your item has shipped!" Eff you, Toys R Us. If the other store had Jetfire in stock, I would be out $50.

I definitely miscalculated, in that case. I'll only be able to wait for Bee...maybe Magnus, if I'm lucky.

Sounds promising. I've liked all the X-movies...even Last Stand. Without it, the payoff in DoFP wouldn't have as much impact. I found the two Wolverine movies a bit lacking, though.

My Wheeljack(s) shall stay in my Private Warehouse at HLJ. I'm in no rush to have another Masterpiece Transformer, or two, sit in their boxes in my "toy" closet.

Same here. I'll ship it after UM and Star Saber are ready to go.
Here's my latest custom. It was Thor / A-10 Warthog, now it's Cobra Commander / Rattler.
Still can't transform it due to the paint / clear coat not being ready. I'll probably add more stickers to the plane mode.

The white looks translucent around the shoulders & knee area. My guess is it's mostly white plastic with a few painted parts.

Makes me want to force feed myself episodes of Victory.

Toys came first. They were given to Marvel to create the fiction for them. From TFWiki:
In late 1983, Hasbro approached Marvel Comics to create a storyline around a series of transforming toy robots they had licensed from Takara.
They already had the toys. They needed names and a story to sell them. So correct order is
Toys
Comics
Cartoon.
Transformers didn't exist until the fiction was created and circulated to the public. That would make the comics first. And, if we're using the Transformers' first arrival as canon, it would mean that Jazz is actually orange and has his legs fused together.
