  2. Nope. It is a tie-in for the new game. You get promoted out of Skull and into this squadron with a Longhorn logo. Their squadron "color" is purple. Think about it for a bit; it could be worst...Minmay-Pink Helmet ! !??
  3. I was wondering what was so important that takes you away from one of the most fun things to do? If you could, point a link to BIGGER pics...

    'New here...

I believe there're some scratch builders around here. for my part I am sort of a customizer, kitbasher. The Hasegawa YF-19 has been customized to be transformable you'll need at least 2 kits to do this...and a lot, lots of modifications... this is from the Model graphix June 2002 magazine hasegawa VF-19 VF-19 trasnformation Overall, all of the Hasegawa Macross models are the best and more accurate to this day; but as with any injection kit it takes some work to make it look great.
  7. Odorless mineral spirits... AFAIK. same thing but slighly stronger than Varsol
  8. Yes, it is possible and may be your best shot to get as accurate as possible. You can use the fighter all together for the gerwalk; but if you dislike the skinny looking of the legs then use the Hasegawa battroid's legs. Keep in mind that It's going to take a bit of work though In the Hobby japan magazine of October 2002 you can see one done using both models there's a link to the magazines here Hobby Link Japan EDIT: You are correct the fighter doesn't have the hands but you can always use some optional hands from a gundam model or the like.
  9. there are very few in english since most of the cool ones are in japanese and i can't read it. But may be you have seen some of this web sites that have them..: heavy armor FFS also look in the model gallery guest section.. --- ---- this is actually the company that selles them but by browsing the models you can get to see some detail of the built up kits mechadream FSS --- ---- this is a site dedicate mainly to the twin towers jagd Mirage L don't miss the work shop section to see the step by step of the assembly and painting of this complex but beautiful behemoth jagd Mirage "demon"
  10. TtLW- I couldn't agree more...It is a "nice" mistake actually and that by seeing so many customized models in the past 2 years, eventually it won't even matter. I have the toynami posseable version and the painting scheme is pretty neat. (BTW for the flamers I only have 2 in possesion, cheaply purchased, and no more)
  11. Nice, very nice indeed... Darn it!! just more people to compete against yeah more 3/4 pics will help...
  12. YES!!! I knew it.. GOD have spoken !!!(al fin, hay un dios para todo y ha dado la ultima palabra) Hello fernando Is a pleasure to have you here... tutto bene? Come tutto esta andando ultimamente? Thank you for stopping by. By the way; your models are quite amazing... I hope you visit us more often.... edit: ( I am peeing in my pants!!!! still can't believe it, he's stopped by) Vitja
  13. Ok some new lines on the SE suck some added CG like JabbaTH in ep IV also suck..but IMO no one should complain about the new and realistic view of bespin on the SE TESB by far a very needed and well done improvement to that part of the movie. The change of lighting and perspective set up compared to the original is amazing.
  14. All genres and stype of sounds..: from classical to metal, from pop to tribal pre-historical music, from children's to flolkore, from jazz to techno, ...and in any language. I usually can toletate a certain amount of any type of music for so long after that is time to change. Mostly I would hear soft rock like U2, Jewel, Sting or Journey, or more modern /new ambient/ altenative/hop style like Deep Forest
  15. I belive His monters; if it is the same shown at AMA, was the Imai 1/160 plastic version heavily customized (IMO best one done to this day). The next one on the line was the resin Yellow Submarine at 1/144 and didn't come up until after he's finished his. Also the resin one has a different built (which I also have to start building some time soon )than the plastic one.
  16. HLJ, 1999.co.ja stores and Gundam shop.com If you are planning on using them on 1/72 hasegawas buy the P-109 and P-103 only. The P-113 is ugly...
  17. Is this the 3rd instalment of thes eries?? finally some enemy mecha (hopefully no one else has posted it yet)
  18. Nice Jessee; I am planning on starting that one after the 2 projects I currently have. Next thing for me is to place it along Hikaru's Fan jet on a flying diorama pose like in first chapter.
  19. LTSO- well not really famous, just happy to have competed and won. Gerwalker yes indeed there was a couple of Raw-bau-tek models made by Bandai (I told the guy who built them that he used the wrong kits) and several 1/72 alphas by Imai. Probably the best part is that I left a couple heavily customized Star trek (the one that kept me on my toes)and several Star Wars models behind...although the first place on the Queadlunn category was won by a battletech( that was an awesome built up kit with a perfect dry-brush ); and the second place a Gundam with horrible paint scheme, all in all not a great diorama but was smoothy painted, seamless and evenly built... WM Cheng Those are the same Hasegawa and club-M models in 1/72 I have shown before, the ones I took to LA for the Con. The funny thing is that the VE-1 is better built, more detailed and complex than the Ostrich and got a Best-out-of-the box price and not first, which tells me how little these guys know about Sci-Fi models (since 97% of the models shown were WW2 and modern tanks and planes) I wanted to use a link to the old tread in the old forums but is down again so I will post a collage pic of the 3 (I know, I know here we go again...)
  20. follow this tread link for some love..... 1/144 scale dudes
  21. Is just gibberish randon letters...my interpretation is to be something like: 1st.- starting incripted message 2nd.- ABCDEI 3rd.- 1234 IJLQRS 4th.- End of message Something that could have at least been turned into a joke but was a waste of screen time... unless something like "Iya kyu resu" makes any sense...
  22. That looks pretty neat Sebastian...what was supposed to be on the shoulders? I see some peg attachments on them... One thing I would never understand is why would a robot with the most advanced technology need an extra eye piece? is it somewhat blind? Same thing goes for "mouth" pieces...would they drown if they are taken off??
  23. I use those pre-made bookcases you can find at K-mart (the type you put together), about $25-$30 Then I buy some transparent acrylic, plexy glass or crystalittle sheets at Home Depot or Lowe's and cut them to size then drill holes and put hinges; then seal the edges with a strip of foam insulation to keep the dust out and finally add lighting (all these items bought at home depot in one shot) about $25 You can go a bit further by adding a glass piece as a separator for the bookcase (this is the most expensive part $25). The light will go through to the lower lever and light the entire display. The total cost after building one, about $80 each I have 3 of these built around my room and It adds to the modeling building process; besides there are easy to dissasemble and reposition in another place if necessary without using a lot of space. here's a pic
  24. Thank you guys. This is the type of stuff that makes you want to keep on building. Sam; I was thinking that the plaque would make a beautiful model stance.... (just a bit of sanding) I have almost run out of space on my room.. Grayson I wish it was as simple as competing just agaist you both but I see a lot of new guys that have excellent skills and of course some old folks that we seldom heard of...like Mslz22, Myersjessee, Gunner X, Less than super Ostrich, Macross X, and of course Chris B. just to name a few... ...But you are right, they might not even compete...
  25. Hi guys, just got here from the IPMS east coast 2nd region modeling contest and to my surprice I won 3 different places. I am no less than proud of this accomplishment not because I won but because I did compete agains professional modelers that have been in the bussiness for over 10 years. Seems that I was the youngest adult modeler present and I have to rival about 10 other kits on one of the 2 categories I was in. Since I didn't have any other kits finished I used my old 1/72 hasegawas and the club-M Queadlunnn which won 3rd place on the power suit category but there were only 5 models here. The Ostrich made the first place on fictional vehicles category. I have finally earned a bit of respect.... (yeah right, like I am going to believe that) Without the help of some of you guys it wouldn't have been possible. Let me show you the nice plaque I received; beautifuly engraved in wood... (edited for pic)
