  1. if you can grab it, you can cancel NY and get a refund and complain for delayed shipping. i did that and they gave me my money back with no penalty on your account. as long as it didn't ship.

Thanks for the advice. I just leave them a message that I wish to cancel my order. My order is still "preparation in progress". I think some of MWers have their status changed to "Shipped", but still not received a tracking number or something.

Am I safe to grab a unit from other sources now? Or I should wait for their cancel confirmation?

  2. it's frustrating that anime52k8 upgraded to express shipping to pay more + mark up to get it faster and not have to fight/wait by paying for a peace of mind. NY does this at times shipping out late. i had ems and they'll ship it a week later and sometimes that'll piss me off that those who ordered SAL will get it at the same time or before me.

Me too. I have also upgraded to FedEx...

And I have seen it in local brick and mortar shops at a cheaper price... That adds to my misery.

    *scream and smash*

  3. More sellers are putting it up at Amazon JP and the prices are falling. Currently 15,700 + 500 shipping within Japan. Might see it go to retail on release or a couple of weeks after release.

I have been looking. It varies from 14XXX - 16XXX these few days. Keeps fluctuating. Was 14XXX earlier today.

  4. Because they envy Luca.

The ELINT plane rounds up the squad of manly man rather nicely I think but I guess one has to be the odd "man" out. That he has the same colors than (DYRL?) Kakizaki doesn't help I guess.

I Hope the Renewal version doesn't come in two different shades of green plastic that should have the same color like the V1 toy.

How come when I read you first sentence, I was thinking about Nanase... B))

  5. Yes, most of the Bandai Frontier Valks have scratches on them. But to be honest, the scratches are so small and mostly only viewable under certain lighting conditions and at certain angles, that I don't notice them. Basically, unless I'm looking really closely and specifically looking for them, I'd never notice the scratches. So do these scratches spoil my enjoyment of the toy, no, not in the least. The self-losening hip and shoulder joints spoil me enjoyment far more. And it's nothing to do with "paying for cheap crap because it has the right branding". I buy these beacuse they are nicely designed, have great looking sculpts and I like the Frontier designs and Bandai is the only game in town as far as Frontier toys go. Graham

Agree! I hate the loosen joints much worse.

How tight the joints are is random out of the box. I have a YF-29 whose crotch couldn't lock well at all so it would collapse in B mode. Another YF-29 is just fine.

I like how the DX looks, but I am too scared to pose them. The joints would get loosen further.

  6. Just my personal opinion... It's the worst paint job I've seen on a valk.

I am happy to know that Arcadia is going to continue the Macross line (to some degrees at least). I would still buy this 30th Anni Valk as a sign of support of the Yamato Macross heritage, but certain not for the design.

    SPARTAN! PHALANX!!!

  7. Honestly I do not like the Arcadia 30th 1J. It is ugly and expensive.

How difficult it is to secure the license to make the Minmay Guards?

And the Thunder Hammer (ok, this requires new mold)

And also I want an Alaska Base 1A...

  8. I was chatting with a small shop owner last week. He mainly sells Kamen Rider products.

If anyone has been following the SHF line, the Rider X was released last week. To me, it is quite a popular character as it was from the first generation. However, the price dropped almost right away upon its release, and not because of its quality. According to the shop owner, owing to the bad Japan economy, they ship out most of the stock to overseas. The ample supply drives down the price -- and he expects it to go even lower.

I suspect it is a similar case with the VF-171 canon fodder. While I am happy to get my toys cheap, this is not a healthy sign in the long run. The Japan market is half dead if this is true. Bad sales lead to lower R&D budgets. We may not see many side-kick characters along the toy lines.

    Spartan! Phalanx!

  9. Very true, though I think one of the very first Sheryl figures is still my favourite.

My love goes to my first... The first 1 Kuji price A Sheryl. It opens my road to buy girl figures...
