  2. Speaking of Fedex; just a sharing. My last two orders: NY with Fedex, and HLJ with EMS.

    Fedex:
I received the shipped notice on 19th and received the parcel on 22nd.

    EMS:
I received the shipped notice on 26th and received the parcel on 28th.

I know there are lots of variables in the resultant delivery time, but just one more sample for the pool.

  3. Thanks for the campfire sharings!

    Back to the topic about preordering VF-25A;

    - VF-171 CF is now as low as US$126 in local B&M shops in Hong Kong.
    - RVF-25 is now US$166 and keeps dropping in local shops. It is now 12500 yen in Amazon JP.

Personally, I guess more people will be interested in RVF-25 than a cannon fodder valk. So my current guess is that its availability will match that of RVF-25, but not as cheap as VF-171 CF. I suppose the shops are more careful after RVF-25 and VF-171CF.

Let's see how many units flow for VF-25F and VF-27 to see if Bandai actually changes the production batch size...

  4. Just a thought: NY used to be the online shop which managed to source DX valk and offered them at a higher but somewhat reasonable price (2000-3000 yen above MSRP). However, since the rerelease VF-25F, the price is not as friendly: VF-25F is 7000 yen more expensive and VF-27 is 5000 yen more.

In terms of business, it is all about demand and supply, so I am not judging anyone or anything. However, it does not surprise me that people are dumping preorders more easily. NY is not that "helpful shop that only charges a reasonable premium and saves my time", but now "the place I can preorder as a safety net in case all else fails".

Given the doubled markup though, I believe the preorder cancelling may not impact their business much.

  5. Which may not be a bad thing. As NY demands no deposit, everyone makes a preorder. A product sells out immediately at the starting price. The price gets stacked up afterwards.

Many people cancel their orders afterwards, which may cause some costs to NY. But the inflated price offsets it more or less.

If they ask for a deposit, the people who are willing to pay upfront may acquire the toy at a cheaper price, or at the very least, easier.

  6. yeah, they told me the same thing, but i just kept emailing them back with reasons and stating that i got it cheaper form somewhere else, and after a whole day of back and forth, they gave in and refunded me my cash, but it took a bit to see it back in my bank.

I should be more insistent. Well, they shipped my order today, so I have no complaints now.

Glad for people who managed to make a more reasonable deal. Cheers guys!

  7. put in an order and sent a request to NY to have my order cancelled and my payment refunded.

NY said NO to me as it was already in the "Preparation" status. :(

P.S. I wanted to cancel it more because of the delay, not for the price. I knew it was a bet when I paid.

  8. Suddenly NY is so fast in comparison.

Thanks guys. Maybe I kept my hopes too high as many people have received their copies already (or at least entered the personal warehouse), and mine is still being prepared. A few days of handling shouldn't be too bad.

  9. Received an email from NY. Explained that they were not allowed to send out parcels on June 14 as it was not officially released (until June 15).

To be fair they are not "late", just "slow". As they are charging a premium, I expect a more timely handling of the orders. Am I too demanding to expect my order be shipped within 2 working days?
