Stampeed Valkyrie

Well thanks to Sentai's black Friday sale,  I ended up picking up more then 10 different series on the real cheap..

So starting things off..

Yusibu "I Couldn't Become a Hero So I Reluctantly Decided to Get a Job"    I find this series to be a mixed bag..   Very heavy on the fan-service..   The plot kinda stumbles around and the premise is rather boring.    Sub only.. (Thank god)  but not something I would openly recommend unless you want your fill of Oppai.

Himouto! Umaru-chan..     I don't really have anything nice to say about this title.    I found the main character to be outright annoying and the running gag of this series is never really funny,  let alone for 1 cour.    What amuses me about this title is how much hype it garnered and continues to be popular..  I'd rather go visit the dentist.

Bakuon!!  I have yet to finish this series but so far so good.    Out of the 3 this one actually has some relevant humor.   I can see why everyone likes Rin.. 2 reasons.. just sayin.   Overall I am about halfway through this title and it's managed to beat my expectations..  worth checking out.    I'll come back and add more to this once I finish it.

So 3 down and a boat load more to go.

This was easier to PO then the VF-4.    I just got my order in from Ami-Ami without issue.

I just finished building my Mini-Pla Voltron...    probably the most poseable voltron I have ever seen,  and probably comes up to one of the knees on either of the above voltrons..  lol

Violet Evergarden is not a show for everyone.. the story is not fast paced,  but it does a good job conveying its message none the less.     Not the greatest series ever,  but not a waste of time.     

I need to watch Girls Last Tour.. I have a friend who loves this series and I can't seem to get into it.    

I am nearing the end of a rewatch of the 2nd season of Index... before I jump into the 3rd..      Touma needs to tone down the preaching in this series.. other then that it's OK.   First season was better.. IMO.

A quick google search.. and the artwork reminds me of this..

This reminds me of the artwork they used in the Robotech RPG guides originally issued by palladium.. pre RPG Tactics.

And to be totally honest I really like the style of artwork used by Takani or whoever in the 80's  and the vintage cheese on the old model kits.

There is no argument from me that Tenjin is pretty much the Macross artwork god.. but I am not hating on this artwork.. and even more so not caring so long as the product inside is good.   No Broken lasers, hands,  or hip issues,  or wrong leg armor...  *cough* Bandai *cough*.   

Still too early to make a judgement call..   first thoughts of the main Mecha.. was a ripoff of the Nirvash from Eureka 7...    but I think Kawamori did the mecha from that series as well.

I just Randomly popped over to HLJ and was able to get a pre-order in for the VF-4.. woohoo!

Now I just need 3 more of them.. lol

Started watching Pandora.. Last Hope   on Netflix.

I was holding off on this till I could see the whole thing.    On Ep3 right now.. kinda meh,  but still better then Mac Delta... lol

Honestly I have always liked the Valks from Macross 2..  

The plot was crap.. but the VF-2SS and the VF-2JA are still some of my favorite Valk variants.

So any chance we will get the VF-2JA?

So I am assuming that the VF-1S will come first on 12/12  and the Fast Packs later on 1/31..  right?

Rewatched Love Chunibyo and Delusions,  both 1st and 2nd seasons..   Getting ready to go see the Take on me Movie 11/19

Watched Arpeggio of blue steel Ars Nova..  and I enjoyed it.. much better then the crapfest that is Kantai Collection.

My cousin started watching Haganai (sp?) I don't have any friends..      I remember watching this when it came out,  and I didn't remember this series being so in your face about fanservice..  or maybe I pay it no mind.   Regardless she says its overkill,   me I see Sena and I am like.. no its not.. lol

I have been pretty impressed by the company and it's responsiveness to any questions I had.

I'm pretty confident this should be good.

I don't come by MW in awhile and I miss the VF-4 Hi Metal R announcement! ...      I'm in for 4

ooh boy, after reading head lasers snapping I checked mine and its there.. whew!

Then I read legs snapping off and I am afraid to take it out of the box now... 

I need to learn how to finesse it during transformation before I break it..

While not a LV resident,  I have family that lives in and around the Vegas area so I find myself flying in several times a year.

I did attend Otakon Vegas up until it ceased operations.

I don't understand the general feeling of butt-hurt going on about Goblin Slayer..   Maybe its my age,  but I remember 80-90's OVAs that made this series look like a walk in the kiddie park.   Off the top of my head Violence Jack!  I mean c'mon need I say more..    

I think the Anime did a pretty good job toning it down considering..

Other titles worth watching

Zombie land!   ok not great,  but it's amusing me

The slime one... yeah, yeah google the actual name..    this one is kinda generic,  almost feels like its riding the wave from Overlord.   Not a bad series but the verdict is still out.

I just finished watching recovery of an MMO junkie.    And I was pleasantly surprised,  it had some sap to it but I found myself enjoying it anyway.

Goblin Slayer Ep 1 was pretty good.   Apparently its only going to be 12 eps.. which is disappointing.      As for Overlord.. I though the 3rd season was a letdown,  I'd like to see a 4th season as well.     

The other series catching my eye is Tensei Shitara Slime Datta Ken which seems like it might be interesting.. Ep 1 was a good start,  Ep 2 just came out.

I am also watching Seishun Buta Yarou wa Bunny Girl-senpai no Yume wo Minai,  and so far the first episode has some promise.    I will be honest though the whole bunny girl bit is what got me here..  just sayin.

Besides the Index 3.. I think the other series that I started watching was Zombieland Saga and currently I am wtf?  with that series after 1 episode.

My Minmay figure arrived yesterday.   I have been too busy to get a good look at it.    I'll try and get some pictures when I get a chance.

I finally got a chance to sit down and watch the Planetarian OVA's and then the Movie.  

IMO the Visual Novel was a better medium for this story,  not to knock the OVA's but the pacing seemed to be off.  Particularly the parts in the beginning between Yumemi and the Junker.

The movie takes place after the events of the OVA's there is some new content here,  however most of the movie consists of flashbacks to the OVA's.    So much time is spent on the flashbacks that I think it detracts from the movie as a whole, with the new content introduced is overshadowed.    Ultimately the end of the movie does wrap up the OVA's story but not without other questions going unanswered.

Just wrapped up Gamers... now moving onto a rewatch of Martian Successor Nadesico.

Been awhile since I posted in this thread... I feel behind again.. but this brings me current.    I am still waiting on 2 more VT-1s.
