Official Bandai 1/60 Scale DX Toy Thread Ver.6

I dunno. I think the only real downer on the DX is that it doesn't do what the model does with the swing bar on the hips that allows the legs to rest a bit lower down. That's it. Just add that swing bar and it's fine.

Other than that it's a solid piece. Also - it's strange because now that I have Ozma, I can see that there is a neck there, it just doesn't "work" very well - which is why you need the etension. It's strange....

But...whatever...I've gotten over y initial problems with the DX. My main issue is whether or not it looks good alongside my Yamatos. Since Macross is all one universe, I would have been unhappy having Macross Frontier fighters that look terrible next to Yamato fighters... but it's all good.

I am sure that a zillion improvements could be made, and in a sense, I think it's worthwhile to remember that when the 1/72 Macross Plus stuff came out from Yamato, those were all the rave. Heck, I think there's even a comparisson gallery posted by Graham on MW's main page where it goes up against the SHE version and wins hands down.

Now, compared to the new 1/60 YF-21...well...it's no contest. So yes - everything can be improved upon.

Personally, I get the feeling that the VF-25 needs...a bigger scale to work... I dunno.. Just lots of stuff going on there. Should be made in 1/55 scale or something...

Really.....well the top of the legs look to be in the right place for a DX.......and I see exposed metal where it looks like the leg joint is at the tigh???? So it would have to be the DX for the exposed metal alone. I would really like to see what it looks like in fighter mode though before I say anything more other than it looks like one would expect from the DX line.

Sweet! My initial impression is that I like it. The inherent transformation differences between the VF-25 and 27 allows the 27 to be more faithful to the lineart than the 25 did. I didn't realize until now how far down the tail end hangs in battroid mode though. Actually, now that I mention it, the legs do seem a bit short. The color looks pretty accurate I think. I wish they had one displayed in fighter mode as well. I'm curious if it has the low hanging leg problems that the 25 DX has (pretty hopeful it doesn't) and if the gun can be properly mounted with landing gear down unlike the 25G toy (that part I highly doubt).

Heh, those pics make the 1/100 VF-19 look the same size as the VF-27.

i think there's no way to ascertain whether it is a DX or not yet.

despite the metal, gloss, landing gear hatches and DX hands that we think were seeing,

i think u cant deny that the vf-19 kai in front of it looks to be the same scale.

they are too close to each other in distance for their scale to be obscured (from 1/100 to 1/60 :S)

if there already was a 1/60 kai tbr, MW would have known by now...

I think the distance between the toys in the photo, is enough to account for the apparent size discrepancy.

Also, the VF-27 is leaning backwards, makin it look shorter/smaller that it is, plus the legs may not be locked in the correct position.

Just from the overall construction and design, it looks very much like the it comes from the DX design team.

Ok, points taken

i'd like to say, somehow the 1/60 DX vf-27 looks better than 1/72 model vf-27.

partly due to the size of intakes at the chest of the DX seem to be more correct...

i'm doing some comparisons now...

Ugh. Any advice for repairing (or maybe even replacing) one of the front landing gear doors on an Armored Messiah? I have no idea how it broke since it's only ever been treated with the utmost of fragile care, but one of the two tabs on the inside of the left door has broken. I am not very good in the least at plastic repair, especially with parts which are moving.

Hopefully, we'll get the cannon fodder green VF-27 DX toy AKA 'Grace version'.

However, I'm not holding my breath, as we are still waiting for the cannon fodder tan VF-25A DX.

Graham

I gotta imagine we'll get one. The VF-25 had lots of paint schemes to go through and the options don't really exist for the VF-27. It's a lot of work to make a toy for just one paint scheme.

Agreed. Going on the number of '25 repaints and re-releases and the return that has to be made on the re-tooling and build (especially the way the economy is right now), I'm sure Bandai will want to milk the '27 for all its worth. Plus, now there is a valk that the Tamashi fold booster can attach to and look correct.

On the down side, I'll be waiting longer for a '171, but if they are doing a '27 then at least Bandai are still making frontier valks so there is still hope. I thought that going on the stated premise of Bandai making the most of each design for re-issuing variant color schemes that the '171 would be next since they could do the regular '171, the RVF-171, and with just a new head and canopy you would have the EX's and all their variants. Also, while the pink fold booster is more accurate with the '27, a 171 would utilize the Tamashi weapons set.

A few more at http://ga.sbcr.jp/mreport/013846/

At first it looks like a VF-100, but the Japanese news site above say it is a DX.

although I see metal there which would indicate its a dx but maybe its hi metal 100

Its tough to tell cause the way the photo is taken from the distance with the 19kai it has the optic effect

that its the same size. I have been staring at the photos trying to figure out. Also it seems it lacks the metal ankles.

The other thing is that the OCT issue of Dengeki mag shows no pics of the DX just the autocad..,.. Who know

Got my Armored a few days ago. Did anyone figure out what the oily substance on the armor parts was???

i had to use a tissue to wipe it off. I wash my hand thoroughly and even used rubbing alchohol to wash my hands

GUYS!, new member here. just joined a few seconds to find a solution on how to fix this major problem of mine.

anywhoo...little story:

just got the dx chogokin alto fold color. and it has a problem most dx chogokin has.

1. EXTREMELY TIGHT shoulder joint that makes my alto's right hand pretty much non poseable. -_-

2. the crotch does not tab to the folding backpack thingy ( not much of a problem, but like to fix it if possible)

anywhoo. the diecast ball joint is proving EXTREMELY difficult bar IMPOSSIBLE to be moved without loosening the screws first....actually the flip out joint on the connector piece is also fairly tight, but manageable. since the screw is actually exposed.

" right hand pretty much stuck, and can't be moved down, gerwalk is pretty much impossible >_<"

DSC_1084.jpg

" and obviously the problem lies right here."

DSC_1085.jpg

but the ball joint ones? the opening to the screw is actually covered by the shoulder plate. how is one supposed to get to it? i tried searching but could not really find a solution. you guys here are my very last resort, hope that you can help me.

thx in advance.

The link in the post you quoted clearly identifies it as a DX. The metal ankles could be painted.
