So, it's another 7 months before season 3?! Oh well, some things are worth waiting for, I guess. Loved that finale though. Probably not as great as season 1's, but definitely one for the books. To be slightly off topic---HASBRO's releasing BSG 3" titanium vehicles. Does anyone know if they'll be coming out with the same die-cast toys in slightly larger scale, like what they did with ARC and DROID fighters from STAR WARS ep.III?

Larger scale Vipers would definately kick ass.

Speaking about the budget, now that a good chunk of the new season will be planetside, I suppose we'll be seeing a whole lot of Canadian forests again, huh?  That's one thing that always seemed funny to me is how any planetside scenes always were in the forest or downtown.  And since New Caprica is supposedly uninhabited, the only scenes we'll be seeing is shantytown or forests.

Actually, no. Moore stated in the last podcast that the New Caprica situation will be resolved in the first 4 or 5 episodes of season 3, before they are back off on their way.

Roslyn should walk up to Baltar and plug him. However, she realizes that the people have chosen this planet-side fate; what choice does she have other than returning to the profession that she truly loves, which is teaching children. If these idiots ever manage to get off of the planet, Baltar will be quickly removed from office (I hope), and Roslyn shouldn't be too far from taking her old office back...

I will be quite interseting to see how this pans out in season 3. There are so many different ways it could go..

One thing I though the aid person (cant remember her name) who helps Roslin before the election, I think shes a Cylon, Therree just somthing about her. Eaither that or she has big ambitions for herself.

Another thing Does Adama look like a 1970`s pornstar with that tash, or is it just me ?

Regarding Olmos' pornstache, let's not forget: he was sporting that thing back on Miami Vice. In my mind, I was thinkin', "Crocket, Tubbs. In my office. Now."

Good points, DeathHammer. That's what I love about BSG: no character is truly a saint or a sinner. Hopefully, someone will call her out on her actions next season, even if it is just a quick little put-her-in-her-place scene.

Just some random thoughts.

- I really don't expect Baltar to remain with the fleet after this turn of events. That is, so long as this turn of events actually exists outside of his imagination... I hope that's not the case.

- I wonder what Adama did with Sharon and the Cavil cylons? That was the #1 question I wanted answered about what happened during the period of the year.

- Really now, why did the Colonials not spend the year fortifying their position? Seems like that'd have been the first thing I'd have done even though they felt like the Cylons had moved on.

- Wonder what was done about having enough Tylium to continue to power the orbiting fleet?

Well that's 1 way to get Baltar away from the fleet.

Probably kept them where he could keep an eye on them...in the brig. I'm sure they'll address that next season.

The answer is with Baltar. When Cloud 9 blew up, we saw how Baltar treated it. Instead of thinking about security, he wanted them to settle down. The duty is too the people, but you are suppose to keep these people alive. simply, the hope of a new planet was a short-sighted hope. Kinda like feeling a rush, then coming out of it. They could have used this planet as a rest stop. Catch their breath, get some supplies, restock on some provisions they lost with when Cloud 9 and the surrounding ships went up in flames and then get moving. But no, they settled.

- Wonder what was done about having enough Tylium to continue to power the orbiting fleet?

I'm sure they had enough to keep them going. But considering they barely anyone who could process it or even keep the ships running, they probably left it on the back-burner.

The "Return of Starbuck," a heartbreaking episode? Is anyone familiar with this one?

The "Return of Starbuck," a heartbreaking episode?  Is anyone familiar with this one?

380014[/snapback]

It was the final Galactica 1980 episode. It featured Dirk Benedict returning as Starbuck in a story told by Adama. It was the only half decent episode of '80. Basically Starbuck crashes on a planet with a Centurion who becomes his "pal". Think Enemy Mine.

Lots of people say You Can't Go Home Again was the homage to that episode but it was never the intention and the writers of that episode never saw the 1980 episode.

Guys, I'm 'bout to pick up season 1 on DVD, but I need to find if it also comes in standard format or just in anamorphic widescreen. Does anyone know?

I'm pretty sure the set only comes in widescreen, otherwise the box or the disc sleeves would indicate otherwise. Not a fan of widescreen, I take it?

I was just about to bring that point up. So....Starbuck was to be forever stranded on this planet, then? Also, the Cylons in that series were still "toaster" style, right? Must've been an odd pairing to be sure...

In that episode, yeah that was his fate and it was the old school toaster he made his bitch.

Yeah, the DVD's are only anamorphic widescreen...it has never been shown otherwise...well, Sci -Fi shows it in a 4:3 letterbox. There is no 4:3 "full screen" version.

I thought they kind of did

a homage episode to "Return of Starbuck"

in season one when Starbuck crashed on a planet and took the

crashed Raider to escape?

Read Gaijin's post about 3 up...

In any case, I can't believe they'd just strand someone out in the middle of nowhere. That is kinda' heartbreaking...

What if Starbuck just cant get to a ship in the escape from New Caprica or what if she gets shot down?

Then she coulf get stranded with a cylon (not 6 or 8)

Naw, they can't do without her character. It's too early in the series' lifespan to let her go. Anytime after she and Lee hook up though, Katee Sackhoff better put her resume up on Monster...

its been one year since they were together and we see her asking for help for Husband (who i don't think is gonna make it)

They'll only get back together if he gets to save her from being stranded or something like that. But she wont be going off the show you're right its way too soon for that.

Some people I guess either got the iTunes download of the second airing of the finale and the voice over after the credits did not appear. It will appear below so if you haven't seen the finale you might want to skip it. AKA SPOILERY if you missed the finale.

"Humanity has surrendered, the war is finally over. We must now fulfill our true destiny -- so we will love them, and take care of them. Show them the glory of peace. And, like God, our infinite mercy will be matched only by our power. And complete control."

Season 3 is coming...I just posted that for the people who didn't catch it at the end of the other broadcasts that didn't air it. The video clips end with returns in October.

Yeah, yeah, I know it was at the end. I was just being facetious. I hope the Colonials annihilate the Cylons. It is time for payback.
