nghia59
Not sure if anyone here has seen this this technique called retr0bright but it seems to be a solution for yellowing. Apologies if this is an old topic. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jdWRsjnVD3s https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Retr0bright Edited March 30, 2020 by nghia59

borgified
You guys can also post this on the "You're Yellow! VF-25 turning colours thread". Same method used as well.
wmkjr
It's been mentioned before. That and using the hydrogen peroxide methods in the thread above. Here is a link to someone conducting a test with it mind you this is just an example: https://www.classic-computers.org.nz/blog/2013-01-15-retr0bright-only-temporary.htm
DewPoint
Brittle plastic is more of a concern to me than yellowing. I won't fully transform my HCM VF-1J anymore because of it. I've seen what happens to Jetfires from that era.

I've had to repair Jetfires from that era, and sometimes it's so bad, you're better off replacing parts than trying to glue them.
LORDRANCID77
These are true statements. I took a lot from eBay in 97 and made me a little fleet. Anyone remember this guy name Jung that did custom work on 1/55s? A masterpiece
nghia59
Man, I should start figuring out how to 3D print replacement parts for classic toys. Need to learn how to translate measurements into a 3D app more accurately. A few of my buddies have been doing that with pretty decent success. - Nghia
