Kids Logic is proud to announce our new product line, MiniTech (stands for Miniature Technique), a miniature model series for tabletop games. Each (1/285 scale) miniature stands approximately 4-7 cm tall, capturing the favourite characters and mecha from anime. All miniatures are featured in detail sculptures and come with dynamic posture. We have prepared over 50 miniatures to be manufactured in 2019-2020. They will be scheduled to release every month starting from Oct 2019.

This non-painted multi-part resin kit contains less than 5 components. It could be assembled by super glue within 10 minutes. Super glue is not included in this kit.

Am I the only one confused by the math here?

From October 2019 to December 2020 is fifteen months, with a release scheduled for every month.  That's 15 miniatures, not 50.  Even at their extremely optimistic pace, it would take over four years to get 50 miniatures produced.

Maybe it's supposed to say "in 2019-2024...?"

I find this press release to be highly suspect.  <_<

Maybe its 50 miniatures total.  LOL

In all seriousness though it isn't that unrealistic a schedule, depending on their manufacturing base.
Figuring that 4 out of the 6 this time around at VF-1J in various modes and with armor.  Than reworks of the molds/stls will yield 16 minis right there:
VF-1A/1D/1J/1S (fighter, gerwalk, battroid, armored)
Then the super packs are another 12 minis between all the modes.  That gets them up to 28, plus the 2 power armors for 30.
2x Glaugs (regular and booster)
4x Regults (Reg, small missile, heavy missiles, recon)
1x Gnerl
4x Destroids
1x Monster (big maybe)
8x  Zentraedi/Meltrandi (Z-Solider, M-Soldier, Breetai, Exedore, Khyron, Millia, Azonia, at least not counting alt poses)

That gets you up to 50 right there.

Figure that every month will include at least some Valkyrie variant and them additional exclusives (Boosted Valkyrie, Half Gerwalk Valks), and if they all come unpainted, so no exclusive paint jobs, that gives  50 minis total.  If they come painted, then they can cut out a number of designs and just produce all the various color schemes (max and millia, red VF-1S, custom schemes, etc...).  That also precludes the use of DYRL specific designs (strike valks, and upgraded power armors)

OK I'm confused. Why Hikaru and not Rick? This is supposed to be a Robotrash game? The mini's look impressive (they actually remind me of the 80's Imai thick look) however...

HG wants to make it look like their Macross trademark is legitimate.

What weirds me out is the combination. Hikaru's VF-1J in Guardian mode is wrong in the kind of way that leads to a sticky thread about the difference between Macross and Robotech.

Interesting, if it weren't for the RT tag I might be interested.  SOme of those look like nice 3D printed prototypes (I see layer lines).

I don't think you are seeing 3D printed layers.  I believe these are rendered images and you are looking at the underlying mesh. The lines you see appear to be the edges where triangles meet.  Look at the Armored VF-1J, it is actually hovering above the base, no way that is a physical object.  And I don't think the base itself is casting a shadow in any of the images.

Care to elaborate?  Not certain what you are referring to.

It is clearly labeled as Hikaru Ichijo (Macross), yet calls the mode Guardian (Robotech) instead of the correct term of GERWALK (Macross).

That. I meant the combination of Macross and Robotech terminology in the same product.

Also notice how they spell it 'BattLoid' instead of "battRoid"

As far as I remember in Robotech, Battloid is a mix term from Battle and their Bioroids. But to be honest, Macross or Robotech, the term Battroid really had more sense. ^_^

Love the details even though they're tiny.

Someone once told me that I was pronouncing "Battloid" wrong. That instead of "batt-loid" I should be saying "battle-oid" but that seems funk-tastic to me. I was under the impression that both Robotech and the original Macross were going with Battle Android being smushed together and, ignoring the Japanese L/R conflict, they both just sliced the combination one letter off from each other.

I hope that Kids Logic will be using industrial strength resin with these. Regular resin is fairly brittle when it comes to small, thin pieces and I can see those wings and antennas easily breaking.
