Question for those with the Bandai and also an old yamato 1:48 Would the missiles from the yamato clip on to the Bandai?

I think it was determined that they do not work.

More importantly, I want to know if the Bandai hands fit on Yamato.

I like the lighting on this one. Nice!

Thanks! Lighting is so tough for me and the key to good photography. I’ve been trying some new techniques on these.

Agreed.. Nice one @Slave IV!

Also happen to think the VF-1 has the best looking gerwalk mode of all valks.

Thank you and agree. At least it’s the most iconic.

If you gently use a file to enlarge the openings of the yamato missiles they fit just fine. See comparison

You need to haggle some magic with FEXTHobby and get your diorama on!

If they make those translucent roof and wall parts available, I’ll put in an order immediately.

What a badly built toy. If you remove a bunch of screws it just falls apart!

Order cancelled! Oh wait, too late for me. :D

@gerwookie I don't know. It's currently on the shelf and it'll be a bit before I'm up for pulling it down and messing with it. I'll follow up later tonight if no one else answers.

Just curious, has anyone had the wrong shoulder joint issue on their 1A? It doesn't seem very widespread at all but good to know about.

Checked both of mine and no issues.

Haven't seen any reports here either, might be a rare or 1-off issue.

LOL!

I'd be concerned if you removed all the screws and it DIDN'T come apart!

Question.. why are you dismantling it?

I'm guessing prepping it for some necessary paintwork. ^_^

Honestly, I think this might be the only Bandai Macross product that can be taken this far apart on purpose.

Got mine from AJ today.  Packaging was pretty lackluster; no packing materials, and the tape was coming open on one side of the box.  The valk box was just kind of sliding around in there...

Contents seems fine, though.  I'll have a chance to open it up and check it out later tonight.

I'm with @Roy Focker. How did we ever live with those awful 1/60 toys? They look like Gundam kits from the early 1980s.

I personally think they both look gorgeous. To me the legs look better on the 1/60, while the knees and intake area take the price for the Bandai 1/48. You can't beat the amount of tampo on the 1/48, but with a little patience you can get close with stickers on the 1/60. I prefer the feet on thw 1/60 as well. BTW is that just a seam on the Bandai, or is it the foot design. Good panel lining & weathering on the 1/60 @Lolicon!

Is this a reference flyer to the next Zero release?

I think it's just rando newspaper advertisements for some electronics-related stuff. NY packing is really rando. Most of my packages from NY come in nice green bubblewrap , but once in a while it gets packed with JP newspaper stuff which is always a surprise.
