What will Hasegawa do next?

Completely missed the April announcements back on Feb 5th, but I guess that's because Macross gets just 3 re-pops and nothing new

I love the fact you post this information.  Thanks!

Those 1/48 low visibility valks look nice.  Will probably pick up 2 of those.  Preweather one of them and have the other factory fresh.  (Strange how it's 003, but the tail number is 03.)

Definitely need more display stands for the 1/72 collection.

Will probably skip the rest considering I recently made the Battroid and 1/48 Strikes.

I'm eagerly waiting on my VF-19A Dullahan's.  Ordered one from Hobbylink Japan and the other from Plaza Japan.  Seriously floating the idea of putting Messiah fast packs on one of the Dullahan's, but not sure on the colors.

Remember when shipping from Japan was only like $10?  I miss precovid shipping.

Anyone think there's a chance Hasegawa (or others) will make some Macross 7 kits? I liked the series, but there were never that many kits/toys for it. Come on Hasegawa! :D

I think the issue with the Macross 7 stuff is that the hero units were very cartoony compared to anything else in the franchise, and the mass production machines not all that well loved. We've got a decent kit of the VF-11 (both B and C versions) and the VF-22, and IIRC you can make a convincing Fire Valkyrie out of the YF-19/VF-19A kit with some custom painting, so what's really left is Mylene's VF-11, the VF-17, the crank-wing VF-19 models (E/F IIRC?) and the Varauta fighters, which are pretty weird looking.

It annoys me though that there's still no 1/72 VF-171, given that it was featured in both Frontier and Delta, and all three movies for those shows. It's the CF unit to end all CF units; and plain VFs have been shown to be amazingly popular as model kits (which is why more keep getting made); so why hasn't Hasegawa made one?

Maybe Hasegawa will decided to do one right after Wave releases theirs.

For me, YF-21, VF-11 and VF-25 will be nice.  Macross Delta valk not for me, so much colors  to match the girls. Don't like that.

I was just listing the options that seemed most likely for 1/48.

I like the VF-11, but I doubt they'd do one in 1/48.

I actually wish they'd release non-super Max/Miria VF-1J and VF-1D in 1/48. Also: VE-1 or VT-1.

I'm going to buy a few of the 1/48 Low Viz. Absolutely love that scheme

Same here, the question is will the pilot just be a standard recast or should we live so long they make the Pilot from Yamato's Low Vis 01. B))

I just pre-ordered two of the 1/48 low viz VF-1s from HLJ. I’ve always liked that scheme, and it’s good to see them expanding that line, even if it’s just another paint scheme. I’d love to see a 1/48 VF-1D too, and any other variant, for that matter.

That's an interesting thought. Is Hasegawa known to take cues from Yamato?

Going to say probably not, would be cool if they did though. B))

Hasegawa would shock us all with some 2-seather Valks in 1/48, I think many of us would be happy as hell for that.

From Tag Hobby. Guess we're getting the normie TV pilot which isn't a big surprise. Follows the same vein as 1/72 Low Viz box

I know it's not an official history, but I like the way that Master File VF-1 books describes the TV flight suit as the original design, with the movie version as a subsequent, newer design. It makes sense to me that the TV version would have been designed as more of an atmospheric suit with the movie version tailored for deep space operations. I think the low viz scheme works well as a hypothetical early scheme for use on Earth as the VF-1 was first going into service, so the TV pilot makes sense to me. When I finally start making some progress with all the kits I've accumulated, I plan to use TV pilots in standard VF-1s (if I can get more of those pilots - may have to go with the Shapeways version). My Supers will get movie pilots for space operations later in the war.

Yeah, I hear ya. I still like them all though.

And yeah, where are the VF-171! lol

Looks like HLJ's not taking any more orders for the Low Vis.

They are taking them right now on HLJ. Must have been temporary. I'm sure they'll have more when the kit is released.

How many VT's & VE's have they cast??

This seems like it's not the first time they reissued them. Maybe the third time or so?

Also, check out the Crusher Joe tank! Looks pretty cool.

Too many, and yet, at the same time never enough.

I'm more curious about the nippers. "TT43" doesn't give any google results, but "TT42" is their photo-etch nippers, which appear to be the same thing. Perhaps Hasegawa are just rebranding TT42 as a high end plastic nipper? The blades certainly seem much thinner than normal nippers...

The blades edge on the TT42 looks to only go 1/2 the length while the TT43 goes about 4/5 the length. Also the TT43 looks flatter while the TT42 has a slight bend. TT42 for use on brass etching and TT43 not for use on hard or acrylic parts larger than 2mm.
