I somehow ordered two from HLJ. If I can cancel one without a penalty, I will. Otherwise for you Australia for, I may have a spare for sale soon. And I might even do one up for someone who's willing to pay a bit more for it.

If it's private warehouse, they accept no-penalty cancellations within a period of stocking. Contact customer service. Outside of that period it's just a restocking fee.

If it's still not paid, you can still cancel it in your account page. But if it's already paid and went to your Private Warehouse, assuming you did that, then you have 10 days to get a 100% refund. Beyond that it will deduct restocking fee and the rest will be store credit. Here's detail info from their Terms and Conditions page.

Quote
  • Private Warehouse Cancellations

Private Warehouse items can be returned as long as they have not entered shipping processing.

Returns requested within 10 days of the date the item entered payment processing are eligible for a 100% refund. Such refunds may be returned to the original payment source, or as HLJ store credit, at the preference of the customer.

Returns requested after more than 10 days have passed since the original payment date are subject to a 15% restocking fee. Such refunds can only be provided as HLJ store credit.

If a Private Warehouse item enters automatic shipping and payment is not received for the shipment, the item will be cancelled and returned to stock, and the customer will receive 85% of its cost as store credit.

Thanks Noel. My concern is due to the fact my account is set to a billing agreement. As soon as it's available, it is purchased automatically. Normally that's how I want it because I don't have to think about it and log in and pay. This time though, I completely forgot I'd already pre-ordered it in December.

Either way, sounds like I'm safe. This one hit my PW over the weekend. So I'm still in the 10 day window.

I know everyone's still very excited about the VF-31A, and I know the scheduled 35th Anniversary VF-31 still hasn't been released yet, but I must admit I'm growing impatient - waiting for news on subsequent VF-31 releases. Would at least like some confirmation that the VF-31F, VF-31S, and hopefully VF-31E are on the way.

Some Super VF-31s would be nice too.

Unless a member here works directly for Hasegawa and authorized to spill a bean, your guess is just as good as everyone else. ^_^

No, it's 800 yen more for the oppai tax. I mean, it's kind of right there in the number. 8. 00. That's like... oppai squared.

...anyway, preorder link:

And while I'm at it, the regular Hasegawa VF-31C is still available:

Thanks for the heads up, @kajnrig !. Might get this one if Hasegawa includes a big water decal of Ms. Nakajima I can use to dress ELINT radar dishes like the custom Catseye @PetarB did years ago. Always liked that idea.

Just caught this courtesy of the folks who run Macross Central on Facebook. VF-31C Makina Nakajima colors.

So does this design actually appear in the Macross Delta movie?

If so, are there any others like this in the movie?

Or is this made up for the model kit line?

The design showed up (along with 4 others, apparently) in the Walkure 3rd Live "Walkure Won't Betray You" concert this past February. Seems like it's also an available skin or something in the mobile game Uta Macross. The paint scheme was designed by Hidetaka Tenjin himself (Google Translate translates his name as Takami Hidetori).

OK then I hope the other similar designs show up as kits later.

Question: Are these kits all one color of plastic? If so...which color? The VF-31 are far more colorful than, say, the VF-0, YF-19, and YF-21, which (heh) just happen to be the Hasegawa kits I've built.

I love the outcome of the model kit, but I'm not an expert modeler at all, and I found it quite frustrating that all the plastic was the same color. If the VF-31 is also all one color, and most of the colors are the result of DIY painting, this would be a major deciding factor in whether or not I get one.

All the hasegawa kits are molded in a single colour.  See the parts pictures in the following links:

VF-31F: https://www.1999.co.jp/eng/10531055

VF-31A: https://www.1999.co.jp/eng/10472150

VF-31J (Anniversary): https://www.1999.co.jp/eng/10514611

VF-31J: https://www.1999.co.jp/eng/10460298

VF-31C: https://www.1999.co.jp/eng/10486644

The kits come with water slide decals to replicate some of the colourful parts but some painting is required.
