Obviously these are bonus mail-in exclusives, but can anyone tell me what this page says? TiA!

Basically, it's a list of what subscribers get as they progress. First goodies were a box to store your parts as build progresses and a set of 3 fighter miniatures. Next will be a crew ID card and a plaque with Yamato's data. Final one will be a display case for the model itself. That last one is only for those who chose the premium subscription at Hachette's site.

BTW, for those wondering, chapter 7 is a wonderful spectacle. Fair warning... episode 25 is titled "Farewell, Space Battleship Yamato". So.... there's that.

Yeah, i figured out that that the premium subscribers get the display case from the Hachette site. Its a hefty price addition for the premium subscription. I'll probably just try to get one made.

So are the fighters and placard are subscription bonuses or normal releases? All i really care about is that i wouldn't get those fighters with the normal magazines (non-subscription). The placard would be nice also. What do the big 1 and 2 mean above those?

Chapter 7 and 25 of the show you mean?

What does it say above these?

What’s the ship behind the Seagull? Any mecha sheets for it?

I guess I'll see what i didnt get after issue 110. Then hit up Buyee for what I'm missing.

Kinda sucks, since subscription isn't an option for those outside Japan. Another reason i hate Star Blazers nearly as much as i do Robotech.  Its a bit of a catch-22 though, since i wouldn't know about it or possibly be into it had i not seen Star Blazers as a kid. Does anyone know if the Funimation versions of 2199 put Yamato/Kodai in the subs or Argo/Wildstar? That would be a deal-breaker.

Regardless, easily the best Yamato kit ever IMO, surprised it was Hachette and not Bandai doing this. Huge, diecast, electronic. SoC on steriods. I'm hopeful it fearures a strong skeleton.

Funimation kept all original names, so no Argo or Wildstar.

There are two books coming out that are called Complete Collection Vol.1 (already out) and Vol.2 (March 29th), that are similar to the Earth and Garmillas books, published by Kadokawa. There's also Out Magazine which has official art and contributions from several artists like Umegrafix.

While 2202 had its moments, some of the space battles were not bad.  It pales in comparison to the original.  After 2199, I had high hopes for this one.  But a combination of bad writing, and retconning Dessler made it strange.  Don't get me wrong, I liked that Dessler has a future, but the way that came about just felt forced.  As for Gatlantis, my one comment is "who cares."  They were more interesting in 2199 than they were in 2202.  All the attempts to make them interesting was just stupid, I didn't care about any of those characters, they would've been better off putting mech porn in place of Gatlantis character development.

  Reveal hidden contents

(and 4 eyes is Lord Zordar's clone daddy?)

Gatlantis is, much like the Ark of the Stars, a device left behind by the ancient Aquarian civilization, this one called the Ark of Destruction.  As for Gairen (or 4 eyes, as you called him...)

Yes, Gairen is the previous Zordar. And Mill would be the next. Much like Noll would replace Goland who would move on to become Zaizen. Because of his unique capabilities, Zordar's clones seem to share his past memories and pain, unlike other clones which don't share their memories with each other. Thus why he continues to pursue his vengeance on humanity, even after several generations - several Zordars. Mill was actually willing to finaly accept their views of humanity might be wrong and break the cicle but his death only enforced Zordar's resolve. The loss of Gairen - his past self - finaly drove him over the edge.

so I guess the Aquarians are the Protoculture* race of Yamato (21/22) timeline then. I know someone discussed the origins of the Galatians (and I consider them the Zentradi of Y22) but I suppose if they decide to create a 3rd series, would it be the Aquarians as the protagonists?

* I suppose this a tropes question but is concept of a Older race creating/seeding younger races a common theme in SCI-FI? I know the idea sorta comes from Star Trek TNG (if not TOS)...

Macross did it before TNG, as was the appearance of Aquarius is Final Yamato.

The "Parent Race" or "Progenitors" idea is FAR older than Startrek, just look up Anunnaki, and be careful not to step in the BS..........

Though I'd say Trek certainly bears at least partial responsibility for it's appearance in the west's Pop-Culture Lexicon:

So 10% of the Hachette Yamato is released. I decided to build thev first 10 sets (I'll build 10 at at a time from here on out). This thing is a beauty, but parts of the build SUCKED.

For anyone wondering about size, here are a few pics with comparisons to Bandai GX-86 2202 Yamato (no scale given).

The difficulties...are the TINY parts. And my getting farsighted in my 40s and not having a good modeling station.

Putting the missiles on the Cosmo tiger...SO tiny and 2 dont really even have pylons.

The external lights which are fed by fiber optic plastic tubes...the parts are very small and don"t even glue into the hull.

Lastly, if you dont have all the screws to the tightest possible end of their travel, things wont fit properly.

Also would be nice if I could read Japanese. ;)

Other than that its a fantastic and beautiful kit. It's going to be SO NICE and HEAVY when it's done. Im pretty handy overall, but suck at painting, so this kit is perfect for me.

oh and I can totally relate with the tiny parts.  I've started using one of these and it's helped a lot!

They are called Carson Optical Pro Series Magnivisor Deluxe Cp-60.  I got mine at Amazon.  They come with interchangeable lenses to suit your needs.
