Chronocidal Posted April 16, 2014 Share Posted April 16, 2014 These D type wings are so modular It's really more than that though, the entire lower leg from the S/A design needs to be replaced before the wings will line up and attach properly, not to mention the fins on the intakes. Plus the hips are shaped different and would require attachment points for the smaller forward stabilizers on the Delta that aren't on the swept wing fighters. I can't understand, for example, why they didn't print the triangle marking on the chest of the new YF-19. The 30th anniversary VF-1 though with all the colors of the rainbow? Naaah. not my thing. Maybe they should do a poll asking how much collectors would pay to have a toy where you didn't have to add the stickers and do limited run of these for the lazy people like me? I find it annoying to do personally. And then there is the problem of them rubbing off easily over time. I could make an exception for VF-17 though since it is a stealth valk and having logos would be stupid. The marking would not make sense. The cliché(http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pad_printing) is very expensive, the smaller the run the greater the cost per unit. If you make a 100,000 units like a star wars toy, the cost per unit becomes negligible. But for under 5,000 unit runs like for Macross, its cost prohibitive. What I mean is that, for example, you need with an 0A AND a 0D, then just swap the fuselage, fit a head unit, you can have a 0C and 0B. The only thing I'd add is that the tampo printing on the Cannon Fodder VF-1J and Cannon Fodder TV and Movie VF-1A's were outstanding compared to some of those first run v2 1/60 Valks. -b. That would be a sight to see! Though because of the wing designs 0S/A vs. the 0D configuration and how the Ghost rides piggyback on it, a special adapter system would be needed. The canards on the ghost also fold down and hook into slots cut into the fuel tanks on the back. All that would work the same on the 0D and the 0S/A. The only area where the 0D might not work is the tail planes. On the VF-0S/A the tails fit into slots in the ghost's wings.
