You can count on Manda for anything that they have listed for sale @twich

You'll get your items, however did you choose DHL for shipping? You know that EMS and SAL are a no go as your in the States.

That saying, did you read the thread: "Japan Post  Suspension of International Mail" first before making the order??

http://www.macrossworld.com/mwf/topic/48060-japan-post-suspension-of-international-mail/

For your package a regular DX sized box (not like the DX YF-19 Full Set Sized version as it's very heavy)

DHL - 7950 yen

For those who are not on the "Suspended Mailing List" - EMS: 4500 yen with delays in shipping up to a month wait.

actually, the shipping with DHL was 4350 yen, they did not give me an option for any other type of shipping.  The YF-29 30th Anniversary was 15000 yen, so it was a little less than 20000 yen shipped, and it is showing it will be here in less than 2 weeks.  That is the fastest that I will have received something from Japan, EVER.

These 3rd-party TFs finally arrived, after 2-months voyage in shipping..

Transformation's simple, straightforward, with just the right amount of detail for their rather small size. But really, its the paint app that's impressive which lifts the overall appearance. Nice weathering touches, without being too heavy handed that can sometimes obscure details on other figures..

Thanks for correcting me @tekering… I really suck at history!

The confusion is understandable, since the "Bulldog" was a type of tank used in WWII... whereas the ToyWorld figure looks to be a British Mark IV:

theyshallnotgrowold_1_trans++NJjoeBT78QI

This is actual footage captured on 16mm film over a hundred years ago, then digitally cleaned up and colorized under the supervision of Peter Jackson for his documentary They Shall Not Grow Old.  Using the highest-quality archival film, old recordings from numerous British veterans, and professional Hollywood sound designers, the documentary brings the horrors of World War I to life in visceral detail.  It's a fascinating look at a oft-forgotten time, and highly recommended viewing for anyone who really sucks at history.  ^_^

Actually, the Monogram kit is very easy, with a few large parts and no tiny parts at all.  It fits together well, and is very accurate to the filming miniature...

wrong.thumb.jpg.1198176de8081765bbe7a5081d6eceb7.jpg

Except, perhaps, for the cockpit interior.  <_<

Now, the basic Thunder Fighter is a two-seater, with a pilot up front and a passenger seat in the back; Buck and Twiki escaped from the Draconia in the back seat of Wilma's starfighter in the pilot episode, and the shot of Buck smiling from the back window is featured in the opening of every single episode.

349725467_backwindow.jpg.0831ac37e09e2502dddf43a80f57eda8.jpg

While the Monogram kit features the back windows, they don't seem to serve any purpose for whatever junk they stuck back there in lieu of the passenger seat.

What's more, the stand is designed to display the model in flight, so there's no landing gear in the kit... but no pilot figure, either!

There was at one time an aftermarket resin kit for the interior, featuring two seats, a center stick and actual control surfaces, but it has long since disappeared from the secondary market... as have the pilot figures that a different company (had at one time) sold.  :(

The more I see of the show, the more frustrating I find the Monogram interior...

...not that the show itself is any less frustrating, mind you!  In fact, it's a brain-dead macho fantasy featuring the ultimate fan-fiction "Gary Stu" character, and is so sexist as to border on misogynistic.  What a stupid kid I was to enjoy this trash!  :vava:

So, screw Buck Rogers.  I'm using a Revell Snowspeeder pilot, and making this a Rebel starfighter.

2014595555_crappyRevellfigure.jpg.a1aaf72f29e094c712d0837cd4571432.jpg

Given the history with the old MPC Star Wars kits, I'd guess the inaccuracies are because the kit was based on the filming model, without any input from the prop and set designers.

Still, they really did nail the exterior.  Would love to see them reissue this kit like they did the old BSG Viper.

Agreed on all points for "They Shall Not Grow Old" as well, managed to watch most of that on a cross-country flight last year.

That's a great recommendation! It's surreal to see this Toyworld Bulldog close in colour to that depicted in the film, when its original footage must have been in B&W.

You could get it here:

https://showzstore.com/toyworld-tw-fs01-the-last-knight-ww1-bulldog_p1080.html

Note that there are newer recolored versions, and for some reason, the prices of recolored ones are quite a fair bit higher. I think this is due to ToyWorld having increased their prices across the board recently.

Bulldog's height in robot mode, with its legs in the position I posed it, is just a hair under 7". BB is even smaller, at under 5", but I suppose they are in scale with each other..

Gasp!  Leftist brainwashing!

We all loved the show as kids because of the Thunderfighter, Twiki and Hawk - and Hawk's fighter. Pretty much little else of note in it... I mean Tigerman...seriously? And the Draconians were Klingon level embarrassing, not fit to shine a Cylon Centurion's boot.

Just got in a Hikaru HMR VF-1S (from Mandarake), and I now officially have at least one copy of every single Macross HMR release.

¥13,000 for Opened, Used, Package Damaged. Opened it up and definitely used, but no damage/defects/paint scrapes. All good as far as I'm concerned.

Two VF-1J's showed up today so I could "finish" this shelf. As far as a Hikaru shelf goes I'm feeling pretty good about this one.

20 more shelves to get sorted.

Ultimate EX Voltron! :good: Aside from the hips in combined mode its a very nice set. I had to apply a few layers of future to the hips and it solved all my problems with it.

This came in today. Not bad for $88 shipped. I searched the entire internet and couldn't find a Roy for under $500. I ended up ordering a Max for $88 and I'm going to try and paint it or commission someone to paint it. I'll probably do it myself.

It doesn't look this dark in real life on top of the cab. It could use a little light though.

It’s good that you got Marvel Legends Moon Knight ordered.  I’m glad I will have Black Series Ahsoka and that I missed the original release.  The new one looks better.
