Bandai DX YF-29 Isamu Coloring

You don't need to deploy the "harpoons" if you don't like them ^_^

Not so much the deployment of the harpoons but that whole booster like piece. A total of 2 boosters on the wing is good enough. 4 boosters just doesn't make it look better at all.

Just recieved word from my liasion in japan.
He told me that the YF-29 will be in his hands by christmas eve. Info was sent to him by bandai via e-mail.
So i guess you guys who pre-ordered should be getting info soon as well.

Thanks. Seems that you have to use an attachment part to hold the rifle in fighter mode. Why does bandai love that and not just modify the gunpod.

I don't have a 29 yet but I think the gunpod part of the video isn't a separate attachment piece you have to add, it's the same gunpod connector being deployed from behind the arms used for Michael's sniper gunpod.

If you look at 00:50, he is attaching the part that looks like the one from the super Vf-27 between the wrists. And the manual page afterwards also reflects that.. i was hoping that i saw it wrong when u said so i watched it again :(

I don't get that extra piece to attach the Gunpod. On my YF-29 it looks like there should be more then enough room to accommodate the bayonet.

I never understand the need for the attachment piece on the RVF-25 either. Why not design an arm like the VF-25G has?

The base model/deisgn of the VF-25 Renewals is nearly flawless (minus the floppiness of the joints). In that regard I think you can include the YF-29 because I think that's where Bandai tested the ideas the had for them. However the unnecessary stuff Bandai insists to include are infuriating.

Does anyone know that they say when the shoulder pauldron popped off in that video?

To see how they are handling the toy in that video sends shivers down my spine. So painful!

In my mind, they were saying "Look at the new improved shoulder pauldrons *drops*. Just kidding!"

I would also like to know what they're saying so i can also apply it to mine.

I also have a lingering idea to sell off my alto and get this one instead if its still available afterwards.

Alto is a much sleeker machine in my mind. Unless you absolutely love the 29, keep hold of your 25!

You're right, it's definitely an attachment part!

However it seems that bandai kept the same arm mold as fo Alto's YF-29 so it shoud still be possible to attach the gunpod in the same spot as previous releases. Maybe they just wanted this one to be more at the back in fighter mode or maybe the gunpod is just longer so they had to make this change.

I'm not really a big fan of the YF-29 but since it's Isamu's version and its gunpod has a bayonet I still can't resist buying it.

Looking at the pictures in kengiu's link I found that the canard can be swapped forward, which makes it look more like the YF-19, sweet!

I think the paint scheme is an improvement over the other 29's, but yikes, pick an accent color!

Black and red go well with the tan, the missiles are also red against black - good there. But then you've got the purple jewels in the wings, green on the nose and head, bright blue canopy & jewels on the chest.

I guess it's good that it was released at Xmas - it's certainly decorated for it...

Contacted NY about the order. They were responsive in me asking about the order and having my delivery address changed. Took them about two days to reply me which isn't bad considering they DID reply back. So, no problems here by the customer service.

Change of delivery address is also reflected on my order page and it should ship out this week. Too bad I won't see it till next week as I'll be out of the country.

Those jewels can't be avoided really considering it's available on all the YF-29s. They're the fold quartz crystals (if I'm not wrong) that is special to the 29 since it's a specialised fighter.

The fold crystals are normally purple (blue on the Isamu Custom). They clear parts where less busy on the previous iterations of the Durandal. Mostly purple with a green visor (and green sensor array in the nose of the Alto Custom). On this one it looks really busy and distracting.

Pretty much all of the colors on this thing scream "I'm a toy!" I think their choice of tan is bad, it needed to be lighter, especially with that gloss plastic. And the three silly gem colors, at least make them all the same uniform color. Plus, the colors themselves are pretty garish. Actually, that canopy color is bright and garish as well. if the gems and canopy were colored more like the prototype pics we've seen for the YF-19's canopy this thing would all around look better.

Oo. Didn't notice that those crystals are of a consistent colour on the other 29s. I stand corrected. Still.. it doesn't look too bad from the pictures.
