My wife and I just watched the first episode of TRY - she turns to me and says, "We're back!" It was just as much fun as the first season, and we're excited to see what a central character Fumina looks to be. Also had a good laugh at the "Dee-zert" battle arena.

Ditto, just watched with my wife and kids. We had the same reaction to "dee-zero". My youngest son cried when was over because he wanted to see more. Our kids love looking at our Gundam kits that we've built, so they loved the first show and liked this first episode as well.

I'm more curious how a fighting type combat mobile suit will fare against militaristic weapon holding mobile suits. this isn't a gundam fight

Considering Sengoku Astray got nearly all the way to the end, and that the final move of the entire tournament in the original series was Build Knuckle, I'd presume, "well".

I'm incredibly amused that there actually is a Burning Gundam now!

I guess at some point Bandai realized Burning Gundam sounded cooler, and more in line with Shining Gundam and Rising Gundam, and was more marketable.

I was really hoping we'd have several eps with the Dom. Guess this means there will be a mid-season upgrade/replacement. ( I figured Build Burning Gundam would BE the upgrade, especially as it's already essentially an upgraded Shining)

What'll he get next? Master Gundam?

Did anyone else notice the line about the damage level being set to "A" during the opening battle? I don't recall there being different damage levels in season one. I'm curious what this meant, and if it's going to be significant as season two moves ahead.

And now a message from our sponsor.

Fun to Build Gunpla, indeed.

Nailed it

My guess: in the intervening 7 years, the video game has received updates. Notice how the GP Bases now flash Yajima, rather than PPSE, and that the announcer is a lot more excited about his job. Damage Level is probably a scale that affects realism- lower damage levels might cause a limb to pop off at a polycap, or pop two pieces apart at the snap-fit joints, whereas higher levels cause actual permanent damage, through the pieces.

It was a poster at one point, I think, but it definitely exists in super high resolution:

That poster is great but not the one I mean, I think it shows up around the scene in Yuuma's room. It's Star Build Strike in the victory pose from the end of the last season.
