Yes the amazing future Mattel toys with 5 POA

Roy Fokker with underwater missile climb gear

Lynn Minmay with singing blast launcher

Rick Hunter with desert combat gear

VF-1S with launching fast packs, missile feet and music speaker projector.

Oh god, the toys, they will be awful.

if this comes to the big screen.... imagine the toys .. new toys of the franchise..

That won't be bad because then they actually have something that isn't a Macross toy. Ya know, something NEW.

I know this thread is old however Robotech getting Leonardo DiCaprio would be the best thing that could happen to the movie:

http://geektyrant.com/news/2013/7/24/leonardo-dicaprio-turns-down-star-wars-for-robotech

Why? He's an A-lister, a handful of hollywood actors, that can actually make the film happen, and I really hope it does. Plus DiCaprio is one of the greatest actors of our generation - feel free to disagree.

Also check out the director reel from attached director mathieu - Robotech (Macross?) has some potential to at least be a good looking film;

There have now been 4 Transformers movies (well, in a couole months anyway), just as many Akira live action movie pre-pre-production restarts, and a live action Yamato movie, all since this was announced. Wjat will it take to make people realize it's not gonna happen, Avatar 2 being finished? Hell, we're even getting new Stat Wars movies.

In this case, there being no news, is the best news one can get.

Hopefully it will stay in pre-production hell until an asteroid hits the earth

And wipes out the spieces. I only hope any script is vaporized so a future race

Of intelligent beings don't end up reading the crap they were thinking of producing.

The LAM just isnt going to happen. It's nice to want things, but given the amount of time that has elapsed, not to mention the parties involved, it just isnt going to happen.

No way Tochiro, all these years of awkward silence and overblown rumors milked by gullible middle aged adults on the Internet is totally just how Hollywood works!

Wow, Twilitech and porn stars. These are dark days on the forums. :)

As much as I'd love to see Macross become more prominent in American pop culture, I really hope this never gets made. I don't want HG to achieve any form of success whatsoever from this license, at all, ever. I hope that within my lifetime, they will become financially incapable of holding the license and fold, taking Robotech with them into the annals of cartoon history, opening the door for the true Macross Series to be made available and uninhibited internationally. I figure they had their moment 30 years ago. Time to let go.

The Live-Action rights will expire in 3 years. That gives them just enough time to make some crap and hold the rights. In fact, they're at the 5-year-renewal mark. I was wondering when WB would drag this back out.

With all due respect, that is not real news. It's just more people for a certain deranged old guy to cyberstalk in 2015.

In fact, from the previous posts on this page of the thread, we went through this almost a year ago with the last not news. And apparantly, again a year before that one when the thread started!
