"The Men Who Made Macross" Special Airs

Recommended Posts

Yes, it has a different title, though. It can be found as "Flashback 1984" on the Extras disc which came only with the Limited Edition set.

Another thing I noticed is that while the TV edition had Aya "Sheryl" Endo doing the narration, the full-length version features Mika "Misa" Doi narrating. :)

Thanks for confirming this. I'll eventually get around to buying it, but hopefully Thora will sub that documentary I really want to watch and understand it.

I just watched the 1 hour 10 minute Flashback 1984 special on the DYRL Blu-ray.

It has a lot of the same footage...some new stuff (such as the construction of the 1/1 VF-25F).

But it didn't have any of the 30th anniversary event tour.

Is The Men Who Made Macross and Flashback 1984 supposed to be the same thing?

I always had the impression before the Blu-ray release that the TV special was a cut-down version of what would be in "Flashback 1984".

Yeah. It definitely wasn't in any of The Men Who Made Macross. -_-
