Hey guys, quick update I am about 95% done with the molds, just a few small parts to go. However, I have been pulled away on another casting project for a few weeks, so this will slow to a crawl while I work on that.

I won't make it to WF this year anyway, life is just too busy with the kids and my wife's job, I hope to make it next year.

I do hope to at least get a test cast done sometime this week to show off.

thanks

mike

Thanks guys, I know this is a complete mess, but i could not resist the urge to do a quick mock up with a combo of some cast parts and some of the pattern. Some of the pattern parts have damage from molding but I just really wanted to see this thing stand up for a couple of minutes...it's massive!

thanks

mike

This is just wicked cool. I want to see the hatch open and the pilot crawl out and stand next to the valk.

Its only when you see TRUE scale like this, can you realize just how much MAGIC the animators used when scaling down the pods for the Macross episodes...

It makes me sad you can't make Wonderfest, because I would honestly love to just sit in the the Dealers room if you and Steve were going to be there splitting a table and film people's wallets being pillaged to gruesome deaths for 2 solid days because you guys have bar-none the very coolest model kits on earth. For unsuspecting Star Wars / Macross Modellers, walking by your table would be like a crack head with a credit card walking past a table covered with cocaine, I would literally be able to film people's willpower breaking.

Censored between the legs? That accurate Japanese robo porn!

I was wondering the same thing... the shape of that censored area... its location... I guess now we know why this is called the "boss pod". That is one well endowed zentradi.

Wow, it's huge!!!

It's even taller than my cat who is a Meltran among other cats ;)

I understand your urge to have an estimation of its size by roughly assembling it, I can't wait to see it finished, good job!

Big set of decals for this has arrived. I am done molding the probe droid kit and i am actively casting that now, so in between casting rounds I will finish up the last little bits on this and get cracking on the test build.

thanks

I have someone working on the pilot for this in 1/48, a real figure sculptor, I can do robots but not figures. He is a little overdue right now but i am hoping for July. It's fixed pose, moveable stuff looks a little too "action figureish" for me with the need for ball joints etc, this will be more like a statue. I don't have a problem with action figures, just not what i wanted to go along with these models.

After that I will try to buckle down and finish that 1/72nd monster. I have actually made a lot of progress that i have not posted up yet, I am much, much happier with the new monster pattern than the first one i did...not that the first one was terrible, just happier with this one.

thanks

mike
