That being said, after all this time Daryl still hasn't figured out to keep his eyes on the road when driving through the Zombie Apocalypse? That same scenario has been played a few times now in the show and only a minor correction could have been made to 1) not make him look like an imbecile and 2) still use the rest of the scene and maybe give it a little more impact. I do hope you two are not referring to my comment. Is not the general consensus among the fan base that Kirkman's meddling in the show is a key factor in its inconsistency? After abandoning the show after season 2, I decided to get completely caught up with it the last three days. I've found some parts to be excellent, and others to be embarrassingly bad. Overall, I found it to be entertaining and worth watching again. But, given the atmosphere in this thread, I think I'll pass on discussing it further. Enjoy. Oh yeah, and honestly, the comic book wasn't really that amazing of the book. Kirkman exists because of "right place, right time" And what does this have to do with the show? skullmilitia Posted October 28, 2013 Share Posted October 28, 2013 It has to do with the fact that AMC fired the people that knew how to write a TV show. And left full power to a guy who has no idea. S1 and S2, every show ended with a questionable situation. Now the show ends on a point. Nothing to really grab you tuned in for next week. The show teasers for the next episodes used to have a build up to them. Now it's just random chaotic scenes. Kirkman is good at character building and that's been fantastic in the show. It's just the sequences and the story guiding are very distracting. Chaotic, which is a word that should be used in a zombie apocalypse but not in story writing. I've never cared about the actual mistakes in the production (clean cars and eye patches) But it's hard not to be disappointed that the story writing is being beaten around because AMC doesn't have the balls to say no to Kirkman's demands. It's implied that the "dude" was also eaten by "skin eaters" along with the hippie chick. Just another reason to help Rick justify his rationale for exiling Carol. She pushed them into helping sweep the neighborhood whereas Rick wanted them to sit tight since they really weren't up to the task of going on on their own. Re: any future retribution from Carol, IMHO it's not very likely. She wasn't mad at Rick and all of her recent actions have been very matter of fact. In that same vein she seemed to understand where Rick was coming from, whether she agreed with being kicked out of the group or not. -b. That's like if your wife kicks you out of the house and you decide to live with Charles Manson. Ah yes, Tyrese, I have a hard time seeing him actually kill Carol over what she did. However he does seem to be turning into a wild card of quick changing emotions. I just don't see how forcing the most motherly of all the females to take a hike is a positive for anything. Especially when she's able to take care of the things that need taken cared of. It's almost like Rick is offended that she did something without the "council" so to speak, maybe that's the point! Still it's the end of Humankind, sometimes you gotta do stuff! Previous episodes have seen a Daryl & Michonne team up...good to see Michonne demonstrate her Masters degree in head separation!! I hope they hook up. Liked the side story of the Gov, it would be cool if we had 2 storylines going on at once with 2 different groups. ...Or at the very least for the next few eps before we see the Gov peering thru the bushes at the prison. I forgive ya Gov for killing most of your citizens ......your trimmin' the fat..I get it...I've got a soft spot for crazy..Go Gov , get into your own adventures man!!! I love that phrase "sidestep a walker", it sounds like a dance step "the walker sidestep"...it's all about timing. The Gov is also good at staring competitions..with a walker taking a fire bath...and any new strangers he meets. And this whole new "I've given up fashion statement" it's like he's bringing werewolf back. I think an oxygen tank is redemption enough...GO GOV. No, or at least it didn't look like that was his intent. I loved the episode and within context of what happened was glad that it was Governor-centric. Can't wait for next week's episode. I wonder how Gov's new found family bliss hold's up once they learn that he likes to shoot the breeze..with woodbury citizens in it. Plus I don't think we've seen the last of Carol, I got this feeling she's gonna come across this new group with the Gov's former muscle now in charge. I hope the climax to the series isn't where we see the Gov peering thru the bushes at the prison!! (perhaps he was a scout sent out under orders??) "Bad guys" will always be more interesting than good guys, and a story that shows a relatively evil character going through his own motions is intriguing. Again I think it'd be a good way for the series to prevent becoming Walker-stale and even give us more of a Walking Dead universe to contemplate. But I feel like the inevitable events to follow is exactly what I feared when they didn't get rid of the governor last season, which is a rehash of him trying to take the prison. The first time for revenge and now for shelter (and revenge). Even as good as the last episodes were, I think it just becomes an over explanation of who the Governor is and when ever you take away the mystery of a good character then it just takes away from it. Hopefully tey resolve it since this is going to be the final episode before the long mid season break. So who wiped out that camp? Is that something that's going to come into play? I hope so. Either way his always escape, kill all with no retribution is getting old. I suspect we are going to eventually run into the Preacher and his hordes here soon. But just becoming The Governor again after two episodes is pretty lame. Or instead of trying to retake the prison, again, he attempts to get the women and girl into the prison in a different way.
