XD), he talked about how he really wanted Ozma to live, and bugged and asked the producers (I think?) to even change the title of the episode so that he could have better chances of living. I do wonder though....why do you guys suppose the studio did not pick Maaya Sakamoto for the role of Ranka Lee? I mean she: A)Has worked with Kawamori before on Escaflowne B)Has worked numerous times with Yoko Kanno C)Has extensive experience as a voice actress and singer D)Sings the Macross Frontier theme song Triangler for Christs sake(and does it BEAUTIFULLY I might add). I thought it was rather fitting given that it makes Megumi not unlike Ranka career wise. Why have a seasoned pro play a rising star? One could wonder just as much as to why they didn't use Aya's singing voice. Though I'm sure it's as simple as it not matching what they wanted, so they got May Nakabayashi. Though this is coming off topic. Any other AX thoughts? I finally talked to my friend and found that he was about 3 people behind the cut off point for Saturday's autographs. That, and he rode the elevator with them. Apparently, he explained that I was sick, hence why I didn't make it. So I got their regards at least. I think the real lives of May'n and Megumi helped enhance the roles they played, and made the characters more lifelike. That's my opinion, and maybe something they saw when deciding. A lot of the questions were about super random/small/upcoming roles, but it was still a fun panel =). And I didn't quite catch the episode titling thing because it went by pretty fast, but apparently there is a Pine Apple or Pine Cake thing in Japan, and it means death? And the episode originally had that in the title, so he feared for Ozma's life. He kept bugging the producers/staff, and they eventually changed it to something more ambiguous, so he was like "whew," and felt safer =). I think there was another Macross question, about which was his favorite scene, but I can't quite remember the answer well enough to describe it xD Wah, panel pictures make me feel kinda bad xD. I made my brother go to May'n's panels because I was working to get the ticket, and I never ended up getting her autograph >o< And the video's playing for me! I wish I could've brought my camera and tried to abuse my powers as staff, lol, but I'm not that brave xD. The screens at the beginning saying 'No warning we will kick you out' were scary! My friend was "press" so he's going to send me at least 10 hopefully high quality photos that I can share, apparently press was able to take video of the first 20 minutes as well but he probably didn't. I've even got assurances who might go next year, but I tried to explain that it all depended on who was there. I can see my friends at more local cons, and since the staff shakeup, I hear this con wasn't too well run (like my friend just a few people behind you being kicked out of the autograph line at 5:50pm). vic01 Posted July 11, 2010 Share Posted July 11, 2010 I also attended AX 2010. Of course, just for Megumi and May'n. Watched the live concert and the performance was amazing! Too bad can't vid the concert, it was scary to try, as they will kick you out w/o warning! So I just have recorded the singing... I have pics of Megumi as the only panel session i attended. I even got almost the whole panel session in my iphone, i was sneaky, hehe as they won't allow video or taking pics while @ the session... here's a clip of getting the attention of Megumi and the autographs signed by her and May'n, was lucky to get both last July 3 before i left the expo... PS: I like megumi, so beautiful... I very much enjoyed the concert (sat very close to the front) and attended both the panels for May'n, Megumi, and Konishi. I somehow got all of their autographs despite some crazy mobs there. My friend is a huge May'n fan so he after getting autographs and seeing the concert, he can die happy.
