MacrossMan Posted May 26, 2009 Share Posted May 26, 2009 With the release of the v2 1/60's size allowing for more real estate and some being fairly cheap through Over-Drive I would like to create Roy's VF-1S with fast packs being piloted by Hikaru. I know there is a TV version of the fastpacks for Hikaru's VF-1J, but it isn't cannon. Is this color the actual color of the ones used when Hikaru escorted Misa or are the DYRL colored fastpacks a closer match? Any experts with info would be greatly appreciated! DYRL FPs are darker in shade, and no matter what the color, they won"t be accurate due to the differences in the arm armor. thankheaven Posted May 26, 2009 Share Posted May 26, 2009 Yamato's TV Fastpacks aren't 100% accurate in my opinion as the color of them should be more grey. But they are the only way to go if you want to recreate that scene from the series. The DYRL packs have different arm designs and are more blue and dark. In the SDF TV series, Hikaru's VF-1S Armor has almost a Green-Gray color to it. As where DYRL is a darker Blue-Gray. I agree with the others that the TV series Armor is not the most accurate color for the series. Tamiya makes some really good Airforce shades of green that would work really well!! Personally I prefer the TV fast packs to the DYRL ones mainly because of the way the arm armor tapers off one one side as opposed to the DYRL double taper style. IIRC he painted the head arrows, triangles on the shoulders, modded the antennae, changed the color of the pilot seat to some green color etc etc... too lazy to look for that thread...
