Well I kinda lucked out-- I ordered from the second batch of VF-25G/RVF-25 from Overdrive, and asked them if they could use the coupons to order my fold boosters/ghosts-- and they can, provided you allow them to open up the box and take out the coupons. They haven't asked me for payment yet as well-- I think they are waiting until the web orders come online!

Did they say how much it would end up being if they used your coupon?

They didn't give an exact figure, but the coupons give a 1000+yen discount for each set over the MSRP if you didn't have a coupon--and each coupon allows you to buy 3 sets. Does anybody know if the Tamashii Web shop is open for orders yet? I'll email Overdrive for a quote if it is.

I just want to go on record and say that I hope that the VF-25S Full Armor has a sturdy back hinge. I have my 25S with the Super Pack on and the other day I was having trouble with it sagging when in Gerwalk mode. My concern is that the added weight of the armor boosters will mean that you won't be able to pose it without the stand.

By the way, has anyone heard anything about when Bandai will be sending out the replacement hip/intake covers for the 25S? Over drive hasn't gotten back to me yet, probably due to the server problems they've been having since they have generally been really good with replies.

If I remember correctly, Bandai would send out the replacements by late April.

Okay, cool, I was just getting a bit antsy since it's getting into late april now and I've not heard anything back from OD yet. I just need to 'chill me boots' as they say back home.

One more quick thing, did someone say that you could use hot water to pinch the thigh intakes a bit to give them more grip? I couldn't find anything when I checked back over the last thread, but I could've sworn someone said that using hot water to soften the plastic and cold water to set it worked with no negative side-effects. If not and i'm just going nuts from the heat here in LA recently I'll give it a go on the mis-painted set when the replacement intake covers come in and let everyone know. I just don't want to try it and the paint just disintegrates or something...

There's probably a limit on how stiff you can make the back hinge-- I think the VF-25S Armour will have to rely on the stand to keep the back up in Gerwalk.

While the VF-25F Alto DX and VF-25S Ozma DX where mostly only sold in specialist Japanese toy and hobby shops here in Hong Kong, I find it extremely interesting and heartening that the VF-25G Michael DX and RVF-25 Luca DX are being widely sold in many normal toy shops all throughout Hong Kong.

I've had several surprises over the last few weeks, walking in to toy shops and toy/stationery shops even in remote parts of HK, where I would normally never expect to find any Macross toys, to find that they are stocking the two newer DX.

It's just so nice to be able to walk into normal toy stores and find Macross toys on the shelves. Ah, reminds me of the mid-80s' again.

Single head laser, khaki/brownish colouring similar to the SV-51 CF colour.

Single head laser; you mean the VF-25G head? Or it's a totally different head design?

So it's the standard CF paint scheme. Shouldn't someone refuse to get on the valk when the color is brownish like that?

Thanks!

No idea about the head design since I don't recall seeing it in Battroid mode, only fighter. But the single laser looks similar to Michael's head laser (and in direct contradiction to the Macross Chronicle article). I think the wing pods were jettisoned as well, since the leg super pack parts are still there.

Actually in Mac Frontier I think the VF-25 CF have a lower damage rate than the main character VFs :p

the CF 25 has a G type head. and amazingly the CF 25's are never shown getting shot down.

here's a pic of it from ep25

seems like they dont get wing boosters

Thanks! That's why I never notice them, maybe.

On the other hand, there were so immensely many VF-11C got shot-down in M7 that I feel sorry for them.

My theory is that there just weren't enough of the Wing Boosters produced in time. I'm sure when production catches up with demand, the cannonn fodder uys would have got them as well.

I'd still love Bandai to make a Cannon fodder DX, I'd buy it in a heartbeat.

Anyway, in at least 2 other episodes, I'm sure we do see cannon fodder VF-25 with wing boosters.

hi guys, here's a pic with 3 CF vf-25, all with leg armor only and no wing boosters,

sorry its a bit small, but you can watch it in ep25

highly unlikely that all three of these CFs jettisoned their boosters right

So I just received my VF-25 restock from HLJ. This is the best part of my story unfortunately. As I'm transforming from plane to battroid I rotate the arms out of the stock position and the left arm literally falls out of the shoulder hinge. It fell : ( It just fell without the slightest bit of provocation!!!!! : (. After transforming my 25G multiple times I was praising Bandai's durability/playability. The head of the the screw that holds the arm and the shoulder hinge together just popped off. What do I do? Please help.

Yay. More broken/cheap screws. I think that the members that had this happen to them just replaced the screw with a screw from a junker Bandai toy. OR you could email HLJ about the problem and they might be able to hook you up or replace it.

I believe it's not the revised version? Are the holes on the back different from that of your 25G?

AFAIK (from Yahoo auction JP), the re-issue VF-25F doesn't seem to be out yet...

Thanks!

I understand what you feel. You purposingly ordered the new version knowing that they have no old stock left... And then they ship you an old stock one week before the new version is out...

Probably you should express this to HLJ and see if they would do something. Worth trying.

Thanks alot. I just sent them an E-mail hoping they do something about it. I'm kinda sad tonight. First bad experience with any Macross Toy right out of the box : (.

Frankly speaking, I think it's an advantage that the toy has a broken arm, and there's a bigger reason that they should swap you the new revised version.

As long as you can get the remains of the screw out with a pair of pliers, it's pretty easy to find a suitable size replacement screw.

Still, it sucks that it should happen in the first place.

I was able to unscrew what was left of the screw with needle nosed pliers. Until I hear back from HLJ I'm in a holding pattern for now. Thanks for the sympathy Graham.
