How much did you pay for yours?

I'm looking to pick up a second one, but when I checked 188 Center in Wanchai today, it was HK$1,099, which seems a little high to me.

Graham

on behalf of ff95gj... if he got it from his usual seller at In's Point, it should be HKD 988... :) (that's where he told me to buy Yamato stuff when in HK ;) )

yeah due to the different back pack transformation for the VT-1,

yamato had to make them smaller

still it isnt too small, just nice

i am really loving the pics of the VT without the booster parts. awesome

I'm not liking the smaller fins myself. I think they could have designed some hinge system, so that normal-sized fins extend out from hinges that pull out from the backpack and the hinges would fold up against the sides of the backpack so that it has the clearance it needs. If I do get one, the armor is staying on it for sure.

The more I look at it, the more I can't seem to be wowed by it now. It doesn't offer much innovation over the original except for incorporating all the features that the V.2 body and armor parts have to offer, but that's expected. It's almost twice as much as the original, but it doesn't seem like you get double the bang for your buck as far as incorporating features that are unique to the VT-1. And there's still no plausible reason as to why they included the fixed-pose hands with this! As I mentioned before, it would have been more logical to include figures of Hikaru and Misa in their jumpsuits. Man, that alone would have increased their sales. I would have bought an extra one just to have them inside the cockpit. Yamato makes some very odd decisions. I don't feel so bad about holding onto 2 of the V.1 now. I keep one in fighter mode with the armor on, and the other in Gerwalk with the armor on and the arms tucked underneath like it is seen in the rings of Saturn battle. Hell, the V.1 seems to have a more accurate neck piece on the head. This new version should trump the old one in EVERY way, but it doesn't seem to be the case.

Well, I'm sure the Elintseeker will be more of a definite buy for me. That one already has a better-looking arm for the radar dish, the dish isn't as high this time, the red stripes are painted on, it looks like you can actually remove the radar dish arm from the backpack, and no floppy backpack with the radar dish attached to it. All non-standard features that are exclusive to this version. I'm curious to see what else they can do to the arm attachments. I think the V.1's were pretty detailed, but maybe there's more detail they are adding to them.

i agree with most of your points

i too think the VE-1 would give more bang for buck than this VT

but the VE is more expensive, as listed by yamato at their website

Is the orange color on the VT-1 the exact same as the VF-1D ?

Can you use the VT-1's superpack on the VF-1D ?

And finally could someone who have both display them together in fightermode and take a picture ?

I just tried; the back boosters wouldn't lock and can't hold by friction. At least I can't make it work.

The base color: The VF-1D has a darker yellow-orange base color.

The main orange: The VT-1 has a darker orange.

So in fact the color doesn't really match when I put the 1D head on VT-1. Although the difference may not be apparent first sight.

If you go back and find those unpainted prototype with the matching of VF-1A parts for vt-1 and ve-1, you probably will find out why because lots of parts have been replaced to make these 2 unique chasis.

I also get my Yamato's from In's Point. Probably the same seller as yours. He doesn't always have the best prices, but I prefer buying from him because of his excellent service and specialisation in Yamato.

As for the VT-1, HK$988 still seems a bit too high to me. Not sure why it's so much more expensive than the Strike Vf-1S

About how much is HK$988 in $US?

The MSRP is higher for both VT-1 and VE-1... I believe it's all about that they can't milk the molds as much as the VF-1's.

Who knows? They might come out with repaint, milky SVT-44 through web exclusive.....

I won't doubt they would come up with repaints for the VT-1... It's YAMATO we're talking about, after all.

Just that they can't re-use it as MUCH as the VF-1 mold. B))

Could someone take a picture of the VT-1 in fightermode without the superpacks, side profile with the head laying flat against the belly ?

I know it can be done because i have seen it on official Yamato pics.

Also the official lineart shows the "naked" VT with the head flat making a more sleek looking fightermode without the head poking out so much.

Was this shown in the DYRL movie?

No, model graphix or hobby japan advance valkyries. there are lots of valkyrie schemes come out during 15 anniversary such as sonix valkyrie, 2500th valkyrie, , minmay guard was one of them.

Agreed.

These appear to be models though...

It's a model from Hasegawa kit. What I'm trying to point out is that they probably will do repaint and sell it as exclusive and here is an example of repaint candidate that they probably could think of.

So anyone who already have the toy can review how do you guys feel on the new crotch system? It's suppose to be very easy when doing transformation to battroid mode because you only have to swing the bar to the cockpit, then close the hatch.

My question is does it stay in place firmly without the hatch forcing the swing bar in place like previous release?

I got my VT-1 Super Ostrich yesterday! Looks good standing next to the VF-1D Trainer.

Now I can't wait for the VE-1 and the Virgin Road...

Question for the modellers/customizers out there: I'm thinking of maybe painting an extra VF-1 Super & Strike FAST pack that I have lying around in this colour scheme to beef up the -1D, but it would be great to know the official colour pallete (I don't make models nowadays, so a brand and colour number would be great) (saves me bringing the thing out with me to the hobby shop to try and find a match).

Good lord....

Minmay is missing her feet though....

DSC_4386.JPG

and I don't know why they added the vertical line on heatshield though, it'd have looked better without it:

DSC_4562.JPG

By the way, what make the lower arm different than the standard vf-1? Is it because the elbow area extends to cover up until the upper arm?

regarding the arms: there are circular panel lines on the sides of the arms that aren't there on the VF-1's

and as for the heat shield, that's how ti's supposed to be. If you don't like it take it up with SK himself.

ok, yamato really come to the details to make a new mold to change the groove line on the arm to be anime accurate.

I understand that it's what it supposes to have, but they are still missing the 2 dots though if they decide to paint them black to bring the line out...

Anyway, it's still the best vf-1 toy ever made.
