they should make a new robotech or macross game that has every veratech or valkery made and you should be able to land and take off when ever you want and it should be multiplayer also they should like if i were to play i would be the sv51 please reply if you think a video game with all valkerys or veratech ever made can be used to play as in the video game and they should have missions from the shows movies and ones not from the shows and movies :DB))

honestly, why bother? both games took heavy losses and bad raitings. yous have more fun moddin your ps2 and just play a macross game.

so far HG has still got a bad track record on robotech games. hell the gba game was more entertaining them BC and Invid combined.

I don't know what bizarro world you live in, but the GBA game was a hideous disaster. Battlecry was at least fun.

ya battle cry is at least fun but they should have added more lvl or if they make a squal they should at least include all the veratecs in robotech and macross for more fun and more challenges they should also at least have a really good multiplayer

A Macross game on BluRay? I could go for it. No worries about modding when I import.

Personally, I would be just as happy if Harmony Gold DID NOT decide on any more games based on Macross.

Robotech:Battlecry sucked. After that game, and Star Trek: Shattered Universe, I avoid anything with TDK Mediaactive's stamp on it.

The Sega Macross game for the PS2, on the other hand, was a blast to play. No annoying Jack Archer. :p

But I will admit that Robotech: Invasion was fun to play. I thought it was pretty good, despite all the bad reviews.

Just goes to show that like the case with movie critics, game reviews should be taken only as a rough guide. Not the final verdict.

I actually thought Battlecry was fun except the stupid cateye missions. The PS2 macross game though was too easy and lacked the versatality of the 3 modes that Battlecry had. I mean at least in BC i get to shoot down missiles. hehehe.

My perfect Macross Game would be an Ace Combat game which I can transform! :D

I'd like to see a new Macross game, no more Robotech. It would be nice if they did make it for PS3/Xbox360, maybe the Macross Frontier universe? Haha, even if they re-did the Macross PS2 game for PS3 (and added a lot more stuff), I would be happy. From Software, Sega AM2 and Namco (Project Aces) need to team up.

It's unlikely that a major (triple-A) Macross game would work without some serious legwork on the part of the licensee.

Primarily this is due to the licensing arrangements between HG and Big West. Without both companies agreeing on licensing a studio to produce works based on Macross, any work done would suffer piecemeal release for a localised market. This is why the existing Macross games weren't translated out of japanese. When you've got a multi-million dollar project, you kinda want it to hit the global market, and you don't want the possibility of someone saying 'you can't sell that here without paying us X.' I'm not sure what the current arrangement is, but as HG have released Macross related merchandise (through ADV and Toynami) stateside it might be relaxing slightly. Regardless, it still potentially involves licensing from two different parties, which puts a lot of developers off even approaching them.

A new Macross game? If a good developer and publisher is interested. But since its an anime based game...it has more potential to be awful.

Before the Macross PS2 game from Sega came out, I'd considered RT Battlecry to be the best 3D Macross game. The escort missions were just a pain.

I'm sorry(well no I'm not) but the 3D Macross games for the PSone, Dreamcast and Macross VO for the PC are all terrible. Take off those rose colored Macross glasses.

i'd like to see one tha plays like ZOE+AC and none of that limiter crap.

ZOE had a nice, intuitive control. it's a mystery why other games haven't copied it.

weapon switching is fine, as long as i want or need to, but imposing it on the player just sucks.

add to that some "automatic" stuff like the head lasers doing their anti-missile zapping independently

(as long as you're facing the incoming missiles)

it's something i think shouldn't interfere with the weapon selection unless you really really want to use it.

they already did something like it in ACE3 with the YF19 & YF21 where the grappling punch automatically activates (though if it really adds damage is a mystery)

and of course customizing the weapon loadouts & paint! imagine flying your own custom VF! ^_^

of course, we'll want to have real flyable maps. no boundaries other than atmospheric & space flight.

except maybe 1 or 2 where you need to enter or exit orbit and do some fighting.

VF-X2 was ok, but that "plane in the middle of a bubble" really sucked.

then, the ever important dual language setting!

Ill have to agree with wolfx. If there ever came a macross game that had the playability of the AC series and looked just as good, Im all in.

Course...VF-X2 was kinda like that.

I'm willing to demand more than a lineup of pilotable vehicles composed solely of VFs. Macross has tons of mecha, friendly or enemy. Destroids? What about all the pods? Pilotable Q-Rau?

What I want is demanding.

- I want air combat of course.

- I also want ground fighting to be there also, for those of us who like to fight down low. Hills, urban terrain (i.e. ruined city), etc.

- I want a wide array of pilotable mecha. VFs, Destroids, enemy stuff too.

- Toggable "era" setting, i.e. Space War I, where only stuff from that era are useable. You can also have a free for all setting to have a mix of all mecha regardless of era.

- Personally, I'm one of those guys that love flying from a cockpit perspective. I want mecha specific cockpits. A VF-1's cockpit will be unique compared to a VF-19, and compared to a Monster's (which has several crewmen aboard). For the transformable mecha, there will be a unique cockpit to that mode. A VF for instance would have 3 cockpits, and each VF would be unique from a different model. Cockpits could also be toggled off by the player if they so desire. SDF:M for instance also has shown the cockpits of Zentradi many times. The Regult and the Scout version has been shown internally. Quamzin has been shown inside his Glaug with all the displays several times. And the Quadluun Rau had its screens shown extensively via Millia in her introductory episode. Bring all these unique themes into the game, especially since the shows are overflowing with examples.

- Let me be able to shoot down missiles. It shouldn't be easy, however, but what better way to show your "Max" ability than dodging enemy attacks AND shooting missiles down.

- For the VFs, esp the VF-1, don't slack on the variants, including FAST Pack variants.

- Warships. There needs to be warships, in the atmosphere or in space, esp Space War I settings. And they should naturally be dangerous to a player if not careful.

- Limited ammo loadouts. You do have a finite amount of missiles on you as well as rounds for your gun (if projectile based). But you CAN haul a** back to your base / mothership / SDF-1 for rearmament and repairs.

The major issue with this sort of undertaking is, you either need to modify an existing game engine or start writing a ton of code and develop your own. Even after this is resolved you need the talent to pull it off and enough of it keep it focused and running while real life happens.

I am all for something like this but one-four people does not make a team that could get this type of thing done.

Granted, that's the only macross/robotech game I've ever played. I'd love to get my mitts on a Super Famicon and a copy of Macross: Scrambled Valkyrie. However, Super Famicons are nigh impossible to find.

In battlecry, I love to put in the cheat where you get all the medals & veritech designs, then I can be a Queadluun-Rau! (granted, it's not in teh best colors)

A. A US SNES can play Super FamiCom games. There's just 2 tabs in the back of the cart port that need removing.

B. Emulation.

In battlecry, I love to put in the cheat where you get all the medals & veritech designs, then I can be a Queadluun-Rau! (granted, it's not in teh best colors)

Or you can play the game and earn the QRau legit.

Pity it's not usable in story mode.

BC was boring as hell. Like lots of people have said, I hate that damn cats eye mission. Everytime it got destroyed I wanted to just go into a ragging 2 year old fit and break something.

The GBA game was entertaining to me cause it was cute and easy to pick up and play. Though I didn't lie the destroid missions too much.

Invid game wasn't bad....but the backgrounds started to get a little bland along with the music and combat. It also felt like enemies were scares and spread to thin when you came across them at times.

Not too mention the story mode was boring.
