So I heard recently that people are up in arms about space marines being able to jump around fighting with big hammers or something.  Weirder things have happened in the 41st millennium.  For instance:

By the Emperor that comment is as old as the clip...

Also I use worse, in Shadow War my grey knights have access ( and I regularly use) an operative that is basically a mjior weilding nightcrawler.

Ain't personal teleporters grand?  (Once you get past that whole "having your atoms sucked through a soda straw that just happens to pass through actual Hell" part...)

Still, half the fluff text and fieldable characters in Warhammer 40,000 get weirder things for free with their breakfast cereal than were in that clip... and for the ones in the Inquisition, it's just about mandatory.  A shame Dan Abnett hasn't been able to finish the third trilogy in his Inquisition trilogy of trilogies, if he started as he meant to go on the Bequin trilogy had a couple canon immigrants on the way in from the Cthulhu mythos and the books that inspired it.  (Much ado about The King in Yellow...)

After so many years of plot stasis, I'm kind of flummoxed at the sudden reversal the Imperium's having in 8th Edition... Guilliman's finally decided to get off his duff and fix his family's mess, someone put a boot up the Mechanicum's arse and got them developing new tech again, Cadia's gone to the dogs, and Abaddon may have finally become as competent as he was in the 31st Millennium again... as long as my Dark Eldar don't end up back in "glass cannons that are more glass than cannon" territory again, I'll be satisfied.

People spent the last year or so complaining about stuff like that about Dawn of War III's development.

Wow, really. That was old grip from when Vanguards were added in 5th edition as well. Also in Space Marine (PS4)... maybe people just don't like hammer weilding jump-packers.

I'm still waiting on his sequal to Double Eagle, but not holding my breath. If you want some fun inquisator action, Sandy Mitchell (writer of Caphis Cain) did a dark heresy series. Good stuff.

Well Gulliman was in a stasis field, they only got around to dropping it recently, if his twitter account is anything to go by he was pissed they didn't let him out sooner. Also as for the Drukhari (Dark Eldar) with the new vehicle rules they aren't as too glass cannony anymore. There was a faction focus on them yesterday.

I don't play Warhammer (read a few wiki entries) but I LOL'd at the video.

You really don't have to play Warhammer to appreciate the Text-to-Speech series.  It actually does a good job at explaining the lore while making fun of it at the same time.  This clip in particular pretty much explains 99% of 40K in general.

It's really made me question the credibility of YouTube commentators these days, especially those trying to make a living going on about 40k lore for half an hour or so.

Seto, you had any experience about that?

That reminds of when The Vaults of Terra, a YouTube channel dedicated to 40K lore, did a video on the Adeptus Custodes.  The comments was flooded with Text-to-Speech references.  Bruva Alfabusa himself posted an apology on the video.

I knew of him from a while back.  After a few of his videos I had a feeling that all he was doing was just reading entries from the Lexicanum or other wiki-like website and game books.  He doesn't deserve money for that.

So guys I've been pondering this for a while, but those of you with more knowledge might be able to answer this question.

Is it possible for two God Emperors of Mankind to exist at the same time?

From what I understand, the God Emperor is perpetual and immortal, and once the Golden Throne fails his physical body will die and his ethereal psyche will be reborn into a new body right?

Is it possible due to the imperial cult forcing all of humanity into worshiping the Emperor as a god to essentially believe the cult's version of the Emperor into existance if humanity suffered a certain amount of trauma(I.E. the Emperor dying and the astronomicon disapearing) similar to the way the Eldar essentially murderf***ed Slannesh into existance or basically how the other Chaos gods were born?

So basically we'd have the true God Emperor reborn with the belief in the rule of reason and secular rule and the Emperor chaos God representing what the Imperial Cult has imprinted on all of humanity.

Well, all bets are off where the Warp is involved considering that the very concept of linear time is a bit of a joke there even with the dubious protection of a Gellar field.

In the Materium, that's a bit of a trickier question.  The Big E has been confirmed to be a psychic gestalt intelligence created by an elaborate suicide ritual that fused together all the souls of Earth's psychically gifted prehistoric shamans into a single reincarnated existence.  He himself has confirmed that he can split off parts of his mind to focus on particular tasks while the part pushing his fleshy meats around deals with day-to-day business of the realm.  That's how he runs the Astronomican, soul-binds psykers, etc. while also keeping the Imperial webway closed and everything else he does.  (At one point, while on the Golden Throne long after the Heresy, he notes to an Inquisitor that he's split and partitioned himself to do so many things that he's not sure a particular, seemingly benevolent warp entity called The Hydra is a part of him or not.)

So, in terms of his unique perpetual physical body that's currently enshrined on the Golden Throne of Terra, only one of that can exist at a time.

He could, however, have his mind in multiple places and directly controlling the bodies of multiple people at the same time.  (After Magnus screwed up the Imperial webway, temporarily confining him to the Golden Throne to keep the Chaos filth out, his preferred method of interacting with his sons was to pull a Grand Theft Me on Malcador or whoever else happened to be convenient like Raven Guard ex-Librarians.)

From what I understand, the God Emperor is perpetual and immortal, and once the Golden Throne fails his physical body will die and his ethereal psyche will be reborn into a new body right?

That's a very definite "maybe".

If the Emperor is a true perpetual, at least as defined in the Horus Heresy books via John Grammaticus, Ollanius Pius, and others, once he died his mortal body would regenerate ultra-rapidly and he would simply come back to life in that restored body.  Based on the trouble Night Haunter went to, it seems that even injuries that would put a Primarch down for good won't do much more than temporarily inconvenience a perpetual and make them take slightly longer to regenerate.  Even incineration or vaporization won't keep them down for long... Vulkan literally fell from orbit stark naked and landed on Macragge as a baked skeleton, and within a day or so he was up and about and ROYALLY PISSED.

That said, bring enough psychic trauma to bear on a perpetual and you can make them stay down permanently... at least in theory.  So since the Emperor got the snot beaten out of him by Horus both physically and psychically, he may not be able to regenerate like a normal perpetual.

The prevailing theories among the Inquisition in previous edition fluff were that the Emperor would either create a new physical body for himself using his immortal flesh-and-blood descendants known as the Sensei if the Inquisition could round them all up, or that he would transcend flesh altogether and become a new Warp God of Order.

Given that the Warp's "laws" are often little more than "clap your hands if you believe", it's entirely possible that millennia of humanity's collective belief in the Emperor's divinity and that he claims their souls after death would be enough for the Warp God of Order hypothesis to actually prove out.  (Weirder things have happened... they're perpetually out-of-focus, but the bizarre nature of the warp has given rise to minor warp gods devoted to things like Chaos's power being turned against itself, the embodiment of "Not as planned!", and a a warp god of atheism whose power paradoxically grows as the belief in gods diminishes... Malal, Zuvassin, and Necoho respectively.)

So basically we'd have the true God Emperor reborn with the belief in the rule of reason and secular rule and the Emperor chaos God representing what the Imperial Cult has imprinted on all of humanity.

As of 8th, The Big E seems to be attempting this by proxy.

Roboute Guilliman, Primarch of the XIII Legion and perennial "well done, son" guy who spent the last few thousand years imprisoned in a stasis field at the edge of death because of the wounds he suffered fighting the Daemon Primarch Fulgrim is up and about thanks to the intervention of a 10,000 year old Mechanicum Magos named Belisarius Cawl.  He was reportedly less than happy to see what the Imperium has become (or possibly not a morning person), marched on Terra to confer with the Emperor, and is now Lord Commander of the Imperium and Wrecker-in-Chief of Chaos's Sh*t as he leads a new crusade in defense of the Imperium.

It remains to be seen if any other surviving loyalist Primarchs will come out of the woodwork now that Bobby G's in charge, but theoretically at least The Lion, Corax, Vulkan, Leman Russ, and The Khan are on the table.  (The Imperium will probably lose its collective mind if Sanguinius, most celebrated of primarchs, pulls an "I got better"...)

If the Big E finally kicks off and becomes a Warp God of Order, that might not be the best thing.  The last two times he left things to a council of the primarchs it ended rather badly.  The first time, Horus turned half of the Imperium against the Emperor.  The second time resulted in the start of The Lion's humiliation conga with the breaking of The Lion Sword and a public dressing down from Sanguinius and Guilliman so severe he literally fled Ultramar and the post-Heresy Dark Angels invented a much less humiliating reason for the sword to be broken and lost.

@Seto Kaiba: Unless the horus heresy books changed it, the mortal wound Gilliman suffered was at the hands of Alphious.

Otherwise nice round up, though there is a minor rumor going round that says that Gilliman killed the thing on the golden throne during his visit and the fail safe system built pre-heresy activated.

That is why the Astranomica flickered during big g's visit to Terra.

Nah, it's always been Fulgrim... the fight with Alpharius was before that, and ended with "Alpharius"1 dying.

The first sources to establish that Guilliman was not-quite-dead also established that the wound that landed him a permanent stasis case was being struck in the neck by a poisoned blade wielded by Fulgrim.  It seems mildly likely the Heresy novels will change the type of blade that did the deed, given that...

Spoiler

... we know Primarch Fulgrim of the III Legion took possession of the sword (a Kinebrach anathame) that nearly killed Warmaster Horus with a single wound (which left Horus open to the temptations of the Chaos gods), and kept it with him through much of the Horus Heresy.  It's unknown if he kept the blade after ascending to Daemonhood in Angel Exterminatus though.

Nothing confirmed thus far... though there's a LOT of speculation.

Spoiler

1. As of the novel Praetorian of Dorn, we can say with certainty that the Alpharius who fought Guilliman during The Scouring was not really Alpharius.

Alpharius died during the Battle of Pluto, a small, isolated conflict between the Imperial Fists and Alpha Legion that occurred before the Traitor Legions launched their invasion of the Sol system.  Having foiled an Alpha Legion intelligence operation to undermine Terra's defenses, Rogal Dorn cornered Alpharius on Pluto's moon Hydra, and killed Alpharius in a duel by bisecting him with a chainsword.  Alpharius's twin Omegon confirms that the real Alpharius is dead and assumes his identity to keep up appearances since one of the legion's top secrets was their primarch Alpharius Omegon was really identical twins: Alpharius and Omegon.

Exactly who Guilliman killed is a mystery... it may have been Omegon, who was pretending to be Alpharius.  It could also potentially have been Captain Sheed Ranko of the Alpha Legion's Efreet Stealth Squad, who was an especially large Astartes that frequently served as a body double for "Alpharius Omegon" when the twin primarchs were busy elsewhere and public appearances were necessary.

Necromancy in effect:diablo:

I was browsing online and came across images of some of my work someone had floated out there into cyberspace. So I thought i would post up picks of some of my Farsight Tau custom conversions. About 8 or 9 years ago i began getting into it. With the idea of making an elite unit that was highly experimental and optimized for space combat and hull breaching. And i just kept going,..Several of these have been sold off and i hope someone is enjoying them. So here's some (but not all!) of the crew..

This one, head swivels on a pin.

Well might as well drop this in then.

I started on my Macross themed Tau army. Below is the start/core of the force.

20191215_211634-1164x873.jpg.a8286261bc92048619e1576135b6b535.jpg

Pictured list:

Coldstar Commander w/ High-output Burst Cannon, 2x Missile Pods and Shield Generator - scheme based on VF-25S

4x XV8s w/ Cyclonic Ion Blaster, Missile Pod, Shield Generator, one replaces it's missile with a Drone Controler - Scheme based on CF VF-25

Three squads of 4 Tactical Drones - 2x Marker drones and 2x Shield drones - scheme and design based on QF-4000 Ghost Drone

The drones are a combination Marker/shield drone I pieced together to look a little like the ghost drones from Frontier. Each part is on it's own base and held together via magnets. You can see the separate pieces here:

PhotoPictureResizer_191210_222649233_crop_3182x2490-795x622.jpg.09121e8e22d29c5933bfeb243f0630bc.jpgPhotoPictureResizer_191208_212501082_crop_1785x1820-446x455.jpg.8f8d6d68d44976fbe2518ff6c49b5bbe.jpg

This way once on part dies, generally the shield drone part will take the hit since they can take more damage, I can separate the model and continue on using the other half.

I just finished this group over the weekend.

3x XV8s w/ Burst cannon and 2x Missile Pods - scheme based on CF VF-1, sgt on VF-1J
4 Tactical Drones - 3x Shield Drones and 1 Marker drone - 2x Shield based on shield drones from the Mercarius from Gundam Wing

Also have a few non-Macross inspired pieces. This stormsurge was based on the Buster Gundam from SEED and two of the shield drones above are based on the Mercarius' drones from Gundam Wing.

In the detachment the Stormsurge is going to be in I'm planning to have six shield drones done in the Mercarius pattern.

In the WIP pile I have this XV9 patterned after the 31.

It's kit is twin burst cannon, pulse submuntion rifle and shield generator. The tri-speaker on the other shoulder is it's photon caster. Rules wise it stalls charges aimed at it.

Then we have the coldstar commander for my Bork'an sept detachment which includes the Stormsurge above and the fireblades I'll show later.

Kit is the Bork'an relic plasma rifle, basically longer range, more damage and more shots then the stadard version. Two missile pods and a shield generator (not shown). The scheme is going to be based on the YF-29.

Finally my Fireblade stand-in.

I tried to make a trooper in EXGear, pack is the engines from a sniper drone, legs from a Tempetus trooper and the arms are from the current stealth suit.

Coarse the legs give away that the fireblade isn't Tau. In fact most of my suit pilots are a race the Tau call Gur'vessa or as we know them, humans.

Looks awesome man:good: I really like your marker/shield drones. And the VF head on your Stormsurge!

Thanks, it's a 1/60 VF-0 head from shapeways. I lost the original model head and took a chance. The 'ears' are burst cannons.

The drones were a pain to make but worth it. Would have been easier if a part wasn't only available in a $60 kit. I cleared said bit out of the bitz sites I could find to make what I have now.

Cool. I'm now inspired to put my 1/60 VF-4 head from shapeways on my Stormsurge (still in the box). Thanks!:D

Heads up, you'll want to add some green stuff in the neck hole of the VF-4 and get some magnets to hold the thing together. That's at least how I did it. So the head rotates and the burst cannon ears can change position due to being on the part where the laser cannons were.

Not that good I know, but at least it gets the point across and is table ready.

Also if you wanted to get the chibis locally they are now sold at the domestic GW stores.

Finishing is winning!;)

I meant to start this all female Tau hit squad and only managed a base coat. Now that the water slides I've been waiting on are coming in, they're going to the back burner again :unsure:886018D1-5927-4019-BFB1-465B773C91AD.thumb.jpeg.da6ecb18746127cd61ce4a223ec67165.jpeg

so has it been sufficiently explained how orks can turn 2 bolts, a piece of jagged metal and some chewing gum and making it into a functioning nuclear reactor that powers their kroozers other than the orks psychic gestalt just making it so?  I always found this answer to be rather lacking.  I believe all the time that a semi truck will deliver every macross variable fighter toy, in triplicate to my house for me to enjoy and share with my family, but that truck still hasnt shown up in my driveway.  Maybe I need more chewing gum?

Yes. Chewing gum. But it must be mixed with ork spit. And your Valkyrie's will arrive.;)

Actually I know hardly anything about the Orks in 40K. They are my least favorite. I've read some history on them out of sick fascination & i can barely recall something about their uncanny abilities to fabricate junk into war machines.
