It's a Glock 43X I bought recently.  I bought a metal magazine release that was red for the upcoming 15rd Shield Arms magazine and went with the baseplate as well to denote FMJ ammo since the Aurora II suppressor can only use FMJ ammo.  Fired ten shots while at my dealer.  So the suppressor has about 30 more shots before the wipes need to be rebuilt.  My dealer already makes wipes for it so it was an easy purchase to make.

Guy in my unit getting cock.....

Interesting backstory:

The guy on the left is known as Pubes.  Why pubes?  Because on his first day in the army, he showed up with facial hair.....except it was so sparse, it just looked like pubes on his chin.  Our staff originally called him 50 Pubes because buddy claimed he could do 50 push ups, but could not.  50 Pubes was too long so eventually it was just shortened to just Pubes.

This was back in 2010, and to this day, we still call him Pubes.

That's unfortunate..........for him!

And no way that butterball is doing 50 push ups.;)

Thread bump - with swords :)

Although I own a pile of firearms, and really like the shooting sports, I also have another passion - swords.  Specifically Japanese swords.  I own a few, though nothing special in particular.

I posted about my swords way back in 2017:

Anyway, I've been studying Iaido, specifically Muso Jikiden Eishin Ryu for about 14 years now and I thought I'd share some pics:

Those are all really nice man.

I've had this tactical Wakizashi for years, it's 1090 carbon steel, wrapped in paracord. Full tang, of course. I wanted something that i could use in the real world without worrying about how much damage it takes. It's no show piece. The mini-tanto (is there a name for that?) is a CRKT favorite of mine.

Since the last time I was here I have had a bunch of weapons join my collection.

Mostly because of my attendance of gunsmithing school.

Here are a few of my new ones:

Cool.

ARs are fairly simple unless you're talking about milling out 80% lowers.

1911s are a pain for me.

Bolt guns....I send mine to a shop.

Yeah, AR’s are simple, but this is my first one, and it’s kinda special to me. The 1911 is custom built by me, from an 80% frame.  The bolt gun I’ve had, but it’s been a project to build into a long range rifle, it’ll probably get re-barreled before long.

I used to have a pile of bolt guns, but as soon as I started getting sub MOA groups with my gas guns, and even hitting targets at 1,000m I flipped most of them except one of the 308 and the 50P6035461_1560211541823.thumb.JPG.c1ab26b309b03608e4c70014ad5182bf.JPG

I only have the one, and I’m not very good with it yet. I can hit at 500yds, but Definitely not sub MOA. I’m also a poor man, so I have to work with what I’ve got.

The big one is a PGW  LRT-3 in 50BMG, sitting in a Cadex Defence chassis system.

The tan one next to it is just a Savage 110 in 338lm, also a Cadex Defence chassis.  Cadex helped Remington design their XM2010 chassis.

There's nothing wrong with that, I'm not wealthy by any means, I just have poor money management and make a lot of bad decisions, lol!

Also, tech for gas guns has come a long way and in my opinion, a decent AR10 will satisfy your semi long range (sub 1,000m), accuracy and precision (repeatable sub moa) needs.

If you're the kind of guy who wants to push out to 2,000 plus meters or has to have 1/2 in groups all the time, then you can pour your money into a bolt gun and reloading.

Since I have one gas gun that can hit targets from 1km and produce sub moa groups regularly, I didn't see a point in having multiple $5-7k bolt guns.  I kept one of my 308s just because I like to work the bolt and imagine I'm a sniper, and I kept the 50 because I like to have at least one anti-material rifle in the collection.

I should thin the ARs though.  When I found myself complaining about the price of the Bandai DX 1/48, I thought to myself I could buy a fleet of them with Strike packs and missiles if I sold a few ARs, lol!

I feel that. I too have poor money management skills.

I know. I want to build an AR-10 for 800yds, But I think the wiser course would be to learn the game with the rifle I have.

I do want that. I’m already reloading for my .308 and it’s been an experience. Besides, I already started an AR build, and a Geissele trigger and charging handle are the next upgrades.

I really like bolt action rifles. I want a Ruger Scout, because I want a brush gun, and I want a rifle that I can run some drills with, because if you can be a good rifleman with a Full power bolt gun, it will make You a better rifleman period.

Most of my collection will probably come from my dad, so for now I’ll be content with my very utilitarian collection.

Yeah. I only have the one, so far. But I’m in no real hurry to add to my collection. I just don’t have the space.

I got into precision shooting 5-6yrs back. Good fun. I even have a 800m range 2mi from my house. Completely different mindset than pistol/carbine course/room clearing stuff. Enjoyed it a lot. Had  POF 308. It was pretty good for me after I got it all dialed in. But I just wanted that super precision low tolerance feel of a bolt gun. Especially after I did the Rifles Only course in Texas. And let;s be honest, liking the equipment is part of the fun. They're not just tools. I like shooting a bolt gun.

I keep almost pulling the trigger on a trick .308 bolt gun of some sort (McMillen type stuff), but I never end up going through with it. I don't know anyone else who does it so it kind of ends up a lonely hobby. Maybe this year I will have a really good month and finally crack off $5000 and get a new rig. I'd really like to.

And I want a .50cal because well......who doesn't?:D

Anybody ever done custom modification to their car/truck to better conceal and safely transport their firearms? Ever since I saw somebody right in front of me get carjacked (in little ol' Raleigh, NC, go figure) a few years ago, I've always had my concealed carry piece (HK P2000SK) within close reach. On my last Mustang, I disassembled the fairing for the steering column in order to mount a flush magnetic bracket. You'd have never known that a pistol was on the underside unless you knew to look exactly where it was mounted. My new Ford Edge ST has a super handy compartment right on the dash which is a perfect fit for the pistol and a magazine. My only worry is that I wish I had a way to lock the compartment. It'd be super slick to have a biometric latch or something like that, even though I know that biometrics are not always to be depended upon. I just worry now that I have children that I need to be increasingly responsible as they get older...

In my last car (15 Subaru Legacy), I bought a console safe from console vault.  I always carry the gun on me but sometimes if I go into a federal building I lock it in the safe.  My current car (18 BMW 430) has no room for  safe.  I just keep the guns on me and avoid federal buildings and military bases.

Awesome collections!

These just came in for our work handguns.

30 round mags for my Glock 17 is ridiculous enough. ( bought those in the early nineties) , I'd love a carbine kit for it. Honestly doubt they're  even legal in Cali. Knowing this uptight state.
