KingNor
a rabid transformers fanboy friend of mine said he held a g1 optimus prime and it was like ALL dicast. personally i remember the prime as being all plastic, but i guess it could have had some metal on it. what is the deal with the G1, was it a limited edition with metal or what. BoBe-Patt
The G1 prime had diecast metal in his chest and feet. I don't think it was all die cast or else it would have some major ware to the paint from transforming it and it would be hella expensive. Anubis
As Primal said in Beast Wars once: Die cast construction: it's a lost art.
Radd
Even the recently reissued G1 Prime still has the diecast chest and feet. Granted, it's not all diecast, but it's got a lot more diecast than most toys these days. There was also the G2 Prime, which was a reissue of the original Prime minus the diecast. JRock
There was also the G2 Prime, which was a reissue of the original Prime minus the diecast. The Hasbro Version had the same amount of Die Cast as the original. The box screamed out that. The Korean oversized version however was all plastic down to the wheels. JB0
As Primal said in Beast Wars once: Die cast construction: it's a lost art. HAHA! ... I always wonder if maybe I should've given Beast Wars a chance. I never watched it because the idea of Transformers without origami cars apalled me. There was also the G2 Prime, which was a reissue of the original Prime minus the diecast. The Hasbro Version had the same amount of Die Cast as the original. The box screamed out that. The Korean oversized version however was all plastic down to the wheels. I can confirm that, as I own a G2 Prime. Just in case someone argues the point.
