Walt Disney Pictures announced that Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Men Tell No Tales is in the works. Johnny Depp has already confirmed his return as Captain Jack Sparrow; how much he'll earn for this is currently unknown. Geoffrey Rush will also reprise his role as Captain Hector Barbossa. For this project, Disney hands the director's chair to Joachim Rønning and Espen Sandberg, the duo behind the Academy Award nominated film Kon-Tiki. Toei and TV Asahi premiered Kaizoku Sentai Gokaiger today in Japan. It celebrates 35 years of the Super Sentai franchise. For the series, the characters use a pirate motif. An interesting twist is the team's ability to use the powers of the previous 34 Super Sentai groups. I'd love to see how that plays out (at least before Haim Saban rapes and pillages this series). In the meantime, here's the preview. I don't know about you guys, but the costumes look badass. Hope the show is as good as Tokusou Sentai Dekaranger. Shortly after the release of At World's End, the last (and weakest) of the Pirates of the Caribbean trilogy, there have been talks of a possible fourth Pirates film. So far, here are the details gathered over the past year: * The new film will be a loose adaptation of the 1988 Tim Powers novel On Stranger Tides.
