  1. Happy Holidays: I've been working on creating a list of every single Macross kit in all scales (1/144, 1/100, 1/72, 1/48, etc) and materials (plastic, resin, vinyl, etc). The last (2) years were spent compiling links to every website/thread containing information/pictures about Macross kits. Anyone interested in assisting, please let me know. The ultimate goal will be to update the MW Model Section. http://www.macrossworld.com/mwf/topic/10945-macross-172-scale-complete-list/ * If you have a list of your Macross model collection please send it to me via MW messenger to see i

  3. All lots SOLD I will be selling off more in new posts as I go through more boxes. Thank you for the interest. Way more than I though there would be. Thanks Hello all. I am in the middle of beginning a move and pulled out boxes, some I've not been in for at least 3 years and know I am never going to get to doing, using, or just no interest. I really need to get rid of and make space.Prices reflect the chance of something not noted, missing etc... I buy from here now and again and mainly a lurker, but been around for a bit. All prices in USD $ with buyer to pay ac
  4. Hi folks, I'm putting up one of my last kits for sale. This is the venerable 1/32 Legioss "supreme" kit which was started in 2002 and finalized in 2011. There are 24 in existence. It contains several hundred parts and is composed of resin, steel screws, 3D printed parts, white metal, acetate, vacuum-formed canopy, as well as full-color decals. It stands approximately 14" tall in Armo-Soldier mode and over 17" long in Armo-Fighter mode. The kit can be built in any of its 3 modes but is not directly transformable. It also has independently detailed missile hatches with removeable missiles, det
  5. From the album: IMAI VF-1A

I had this model in line to be painted for 2 years, I decided to try some modern paint techniques on it such as the popular: "color modulation" used by modellers so indiscriminately today, (BTW, the correct term should be actually "color gradation"). I used Gunze and Tamiya paints, despite being an old kit (1983 or so), panel lines are superb and help a lot with the paneling process. Its a very fun weekend project. I used the kit base and made a hole backwards for mounting as I did not want to drill the gunpod.

  6. Could someone please kindly help me with a good scan of the sticker sheets that came with Takatoku or Imai kits of 1/40 scaled Orguss, Kei's and Olson's units and its sticker instruction manual. Not too highres is ok but still clear to retrace it using Adobe Illustrator esp with the words and letters in it. Would love to apply some decals on my Hi-Spec Orguss. Just in case you're wondering why I need an Olson one now, because if ever Megahouse decides to release one, atleast I already have a copy and I'm not going to bug everyone here in the future. Anyways, thanks in advance.
  7. From the album: Personal Macross Kits

Aqueous Macross Color Set 3 Destroid Defender. Aqueous Macross Color box in comparison to 1/72 Defender kit box. The 1/72 Defender was actually my first ever Macross kit, so the paint set makes a nice companion piece.

  8. From the album: Personal Macross Kits

Aqueous Macross Color Set 3 Destroid Defender. The three little jars seem like they would barely have enough paint for the job. Oddly enough, each jar has no label or unique marking. You get a sheet of them to apply yourself - 1, 2 & 3. Hopefully you're not color-blind! My sample's base medium had migrated out of the lid of each jar, collecting like dried amber inside the box. One jar is actually tightly glued into the box.

  10. From the album: Personal Macross Kits

Aqueous Macross Color Set 3 Destroid Defender. Vintage water-based acrylic paint set for Imai & Arii Destroid Defender kits. I had wondered about these sets for a long time, so I bought a dried-up but unused set cheaply via eBay.

Some sub-assemblies on the workbench, during my restoration of this vintage buildup.

Instructions from a recent score - 1/72 "Iron" series metalized Imai Battroid kit. These were pretty difficult to get back in the 80s. Even though the kit is missing a tiny joint piece, I'm pretty happy with the acquisition! I do intend to build it.
  13. From the album: Personal Macross Kits

Color 'presskit' photo that Revell used to promote "Vexar", their Robotech kit series redeco/repackage of the Imai 1/72 Variable VF-1S kit. These would be sent to hobby media publishers, provided to sales people and mail-order companies, and used at trade shows.

Two 'presskit' photos that Revell used to promote "Orbot", their Robotech kit series redeco/repackage of the Imai 1/72 Variable VF-1D kit. These would be sent to hobby media publishers, provided to sales people and mail-order companies, and used at trade shows.

  16. Greeting MWers... been forever and a day since I last posted here. While helping a friend move we stumbled across these little gems. My knowledge of orguss is pretty limited, but it dates back to the days of SDF Macross. Both appear to be legit, and appear to be complete, so I am looking for some information on them. I have already hit up the bay and prices seem to be all over the place, and usually I find the ARII models which from what I am reading are IMAI reissues, Unless I read otherwise, there is a good chance that neither of these has seen any daylight in 20+ years.
  17. Found this thanks to Cancer107. A cel-shaded VF-1D and VE-1. Yes, these are model kits, not paper craft!
  18. From the album: Personal Macross Kits

Gerwalk it I recently bought very cheaply from the generous owner of Cosmic Connection, from some of the leftovers from his 1980s mail order company. This is "The Last Gerwalk At Cosmic Connection"...
  19. So what follows is a list of all the kits I'm going to be selling at the MWCon. I kinda went overboard when I bought these and realized I'll never have time to build all of these. I actually have a lot more than is listed here that I just couldn't part with. There are some pretty rare kits in there so if you see something you want, find me at the MWCon. I'LL POST PRICES VERY SOON. I need to figure out what some of this stuff is worth. Anything not sold at the con will be listed here after. Pics to come... 20. Newest build completed! A 1/72 scale VF-1A Valkyrie, in Gerwalk configuration. This is an old Imai kit, so I did a few modifications, alterations, and additions. As always, you can see more here.
  21. Some of you (hopefully) noticed that I recently got the book VF Modeling Manual. In there, they give a description on how to do a recessed vernier for your 1/72 kit. As I am building an old Imai Gerwalk now, and trying to pep it up a bit, here's what I did to make the vernier. Start by getting yourself some 5 mm plastic pipe. I'm using Tamiya. No special reason for it being clear, that's just what the hobby shop happened to have in stock. Next, take the part you want, and drill a 5 mm hole (obviously, on the Hasegawa kits, just remove the original casted vernier area. Cut a small piece
  22. I saw one of these at my local Mandarake the other day for around 1200 yen. Would it be worth picking up? How much work would I need to do to make it look nice by today's standards? I know I would have to at least replace the "fists of ham" those old kits have. Anyone ever built one of these?
