  1. Hey everyone! Just wanted people who don't frequent the Building/Customizing Macross Models & Toys section of the forums to be aware that slowly but surely - items I've made and produced from Shapeways.com are becoming available to you. This started initially as my own custom pieces meant just for me - but as the items grew in ambition and complexity, I thought it a waste if no one else got the chance to have these in their collection. As mentioned above they came about in 2 of my own threads customizing a Queadluun Rau and a VF-11C; http://www.macrosswo...showtopic=35459 & http://www.macrosswo...showtopic=36209 - shapeways pieces and WIP at the end of the threads. Currently I've finished 99% of my DYRL to TV Queadluun Rau conversion pieces - with only a new hip/waist articulation to go and have finished wing-clip attachments for VF-11s to allow attachments of any current 1/60 missiles and the freshly made HMMs. I have also completed a 1/60 Queadluun Rhea Impact Cannon and pieces to attach to a Q.Rau and for a VF-25 to use as a rifle. More items will become available as I get them and inspect them personally for detail fidelity and material properties to ensure the best product possible. They are available here; http://www.shapeways.com/shops/RPG Without giving too much away - expect much more love for the VF-11, VF-0 and Zentran Mecha. I am open to suggestions or requests - but they're subject to my work load. I will update this thread when items become available. I will continue the above custom threads with the build-ups and eventual completions in their respective threads. Peace! EDIT: Trying to add a poll!

  9. Hey guys, I am wondering who has experience with this kit: https://www.google.ca/search?q=BANDAI+1/100+VF-19+Variable+Model+Kit&hl=en-GB&biw=1280&bih=685&tbm=isch&tbo=u&source=univ&sa=X&ei=5tI9VN7nOtCuyATjgYLIAQ&ved=0CBwQsAQ I am wondering if it is on par with their YF-29 snap fit kit as far as details go. This is a transformable kit, as far as I can see, and so it would be a huge bonus if it was detailed nicely to go along with the gimmicks. I would like to do a conversion for the 1/72 Hasegawa YF-19 model kit, and I want to use a VF-19Kai kit as the basis. Thanks for any comments.
  10. So I'm a fan of the recent Ace Combat's damage model system called "Steel carnage". I had a few Hasegawa models lying around and I thought, "why not blow them up in Photoshop?". So that's what I did. I'm going to do more of these in the future because it's fun making metal bleed! Follow me as I post more of these on my tumblr and Deviantart! http://the-valkyrie-hangar.tumblr.com/ http://kylefalconkpd.deviantart.com/
  11. Hello! I am new to the forum, and i figured i would get a project started in order to get myself back into macross model kit building mode, in preparation for the soon to arrive studio halfeye yf-19 I just bought. So a few years back when the hi metal lines started, i got ridiculously excited about a yf-19 and yf-21 coming out (those for me were pretty much my dream toys) and I felt that the hi metal line was getting stronger with every new toy. To my dismay everyone else in the world disagreed and didn't like them that much, so they cancelled the line and my dreams with it. So I bought one of the vf-19, even though I don't really like that design that much, just cause it relatively resembles the yf-19. So now that there is no hope in hell of getting my yf-19 I decided to just repaint this toy bacause I just wanted to look better than that crappy blue plactic color. I dont really want to paint it the blue of the orignal mech so I made some photoshop paint overs, over the a picture of the toy in order to decide which color scheme to go with. At this point I'm just looking for feedback on the paint schemes, opinions, recommendations, reference, any comments or preferences anyone has would be apreciated (choose a number if you like one) Cheers!!!!

  14. Finally finished! The 1/48 scale VF-19A Excalibur "SVF-569 Lightnings" kit from Hasegawa. I went with a darker shade of gray, mainly because when I went to the hobby shop to buy the paint, they were out of the correct shade. The original color was for various F-16's, and this shade is too, so no complaints. I think the darker shade looks nice, anyways. The biggest challenge was masking off the area between the black and gray, while keeping the line for the lightning bolt decal. Easy solution- make a photocopy of the decal sheet, lay down a long strip of tape, and cut out the decal with a razor while on the tape. Now you've got a masking template. As always, you can see more here.
