  1. Hi everyone! I decided to make a single thread in which I can keep people appraised of my future projects, links to my previous works, a place to post your MOSCATO HOBBY kit builds, and pretty much everything else related to my works. Links to previous projects will be added to this first post over time to help you find my older stuff. 1/48 Pinky Space Crab build: http://www.macrossworld.com/mwf/topic/40117-mo-suu-pii-dah-inbitoh-in-148/ 1/48 Blueberry Space Crab build: http://www.macrossworld.com/mwf/topic/40692-mo-suu-pii-dah-inbitoh-in-148-part-deux/ 1/48 KING CRAB build: http://www.macrossworld.com/mwf/topic/41380-mo-suu-pii-dah-goh-suu-in-148/ 1/48 BABY CRABB build: http://www.macrossworld.com/mwf/topic/41380-mo-suu-pii-dah-goh-suu-in-148/ 1/48 BUSTER build: http://www.macrossworld.com/mwf/topic/42190-148-mospeada-legioss-solider-alpha-battloid-kit/ FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS The following section deals with frequently-asked questions. It is advised that you read this before sending me a message/question, as it has likely already been addressed. If you don’t receive a reply, it’s because the subject has already been covered here in one form or another. Please be respectful of my time and attention, and I will show you the same courtesy. Q: hey bro, you’re a really good modeler! I have an old RX-78 kit that my grandma got me a few years ago, can you build it for me? A: I charge $40/hr CAD for my work. Building even a simple plastic/resin kit to any degree of competent finish requires at minimum 20-ish hours (and usually much, MUCH more) so you’ll have to decide if it’s worth it for you. I quote projects based on an estimated completion time, and require a 20% deposit. NO exceptions. This applies to my own garage kits also. Q: do your kits come with assembly/painting instructions? A: yes! I don’t print paper instructions, but rather create .jpg files of the instructions which you can download, re-size and print as needed. This minimizes paper waste and transcends the resolution limitations that most printed instructions are bound by. Q: can you send me a copy of the 3D files you used to make XXX model? I really want to 3D print my own. A: How would you like it if I came to your place of business and asked you to work 1-2 weeks for me for no pay?… That’s what I thought. Secondly, all my models are mastered by hand, using only basic computer-generated vector templates, so there are no 3D files to speak of. Q: duuude, do you sell pre-built/painted versions of your models? A: no. Q: Your work looks cool, how much do your kits cost? A: there are photographs of all my currently-available kits, their names and prices in the PICTURES section. Please take a moment to look them over carefully. Kits come unbuilt and unassembled. Prices do not include shipping, which is determined based on the serviced used and your location. Q: I don’t see the kit I want listed. A: that means it’s out-of-production and therefore not available. Q: will XXX kit ever be available again? A: I generally take a public poll to determine interest before re-issuing a given model. If there’s sufficient demand, I may issue another run, but no guarantees. Garage kits are like wild flowers: here today, gone the next. If you really want something, grab it while it’s available because it may never be issued again. Q: how do I order models from you? A: simply send me a private message regarding the model(s) you’re interested in, along with your name + shipping location. I will generally post shipping charges for the most popular destinations publicly, so please consult that info first. The rates I quote are for trackable services. If you agree, we can proceed to payment. When making a payment, please be sure that you provide: -your full name -full shipping address -phone number (for customs) -the name and quantity of kits ordered I get a lot of orders and I can’t always remember who ordered what, so help me help you. Q: how long before my order is shipped? A: in-stock items will ship within 3 business days of the order. Pre-orders, by their very nature, imply that much of the fabrication process is as yet incomplete, and may take several weeks. If there are important delays beyond the stated estimated timeframe, I will make a public announcement. Q: do you offer combined shipping? A: yes, of course! Especially when you order several, dissimilar items. Q: I live overseas and the shipping is expensive! Do you offer cheaper shipping? A: I quote based on trackable shipping methods. There are cheaper alternatives, but they don’t have tracking/delivery confirmation. If you select this option, I assume no liability for the delivery, intact or otherwise, of your order. Q: I placed my order yesterday but it hasn't arrived yet. Does my package come with tracking? A: I generally ship via trackable service, but I don't always provide the tracking info right off the bat, simply because I have a heavy workload. Delivery times can range from 5 days to 5 months, depending on the location. If your package doesn't arrive within the alotted time suggested by your local post office, send me a private message and I can provide the tracking details at that point. Q: I really love XXX mecha, I think if you made a kit of it, it would be really popular and sell like crazy! Can you make it? A: depending on the complexity of a given design, it can take anywhere from 100 to 500 hours to scratchbuild a set of masters for a given model. The investment in time, materials and capital are significant. Therefore, I will determine for myself whether a given mecha is worth making as a kit. You are at liberty to make suggestions, but ultimately I decide if I’m going to make it or not. Q: can I go asking around to see if anyone is interested in you building XXX garage kit so that I can get orders for you to build it? A: NO! If you want to gather orders for a specific scratchbuild project that I would be working on, consult with me first! It’s all too easy to be impulsive and misconstrew terms, make bold/unrealistic promises and use verbage that can lead to very real legal problems. I’m not opposed to you doing the leg-work to gather interest, but consult with me first and I will determine the specifics that you can cite for interested parties. I reserve the right to disavow/blackball anyone who does not abide by these guidelines and assume no liability for said conduct.

    RTKF 1/72 "Legult" Build Ups

G'day plastic hackers and resin bashers! Man am I glad to be back and I thought I would share this commission build for one of the board members. But a quick history on the kit first. About 10 years ago Captain America sculpted his first Tactical pod complete with interior. It was a thing of beaty and blew away the old Imai/Bandai plastic kit which was prett scarce at the time (as well as scaling out at around 1/100 if I remember correctly). With the first run sold out the good Captain went on to produce the rest of the line up with several reissues over time. In late 2015 I negotiated with the Captain to buy a number of Patterns, with the "Legults" being one of them. We have been working on reissuing them this year and are currently waiting on decals before we can ship everything out. The Build: This particular kit is being traded away in a deal to a toy collector as an assembled and painted example ready for display. I have already completed cleanup of the parts so that I could take some imagery for the new instructions I am compiling and tacked it together enough to get some photos. Here is what it looked like when I started today: And here is what is looked like a few minutes later: I'll be going back and fixing up a few blemished and getting it all in primer of the next couple of day so keep your eyes peeled Cheers until next time, Brett T
  3. Hello once again! Following on the success of my previous releases, I'd like to propose a re-issue of my 1/48 resin kit BABY CRAB (Mospeada Inbit Eager doppleganger) as my next project. The kit would consist of: -2 Baby crabs: one with legs & beam guns, one space version equipped with flight booster (no beam guns.). Base price $134 CAD -Price: $163 CAD shipped in the US or Canada for 1 set, $302 CAD for 2 sets. -Overseas: $186 CAD shipped for airmail. If you require a shipping method w/tracking, please contact me for specific rates but be warned: the fees are heart attack-inducing! I'd need 10 committed orders to go ahead, with payment due up-front. Who's with me?
  4. Hi everyone, long time no see! I was wondering, since there's a minor revival of MOSPEADA with the upcoming Legioss toy, if anyone would be interested in acquiring some of my Space Crab kits? My thoughts would be to re-issue the Pinky Space Crab [Gurab] to start with. I would basically need 10 orders minimum to get the project going. Update: Exo has graciously offered a 1/48 scale figure to compliment the Pinky kit, so each Crab will come with one. THREE CHEERS FOR EXO!!! Price would be $134 CAD (about $99 US)+ shipping with up-front payment required. Shipping prices are as follows: -$23 CAD for up to 2 kits shipped in Canada or the US -$45 CAD for up to 2 kits shipped internationally. Any takers?
  5. Hi everyone! I submit, for your consideration, my proposal to re-issue my 1/48 BUSTER resin kit (Mospeada Armo-Soldier doppleganger.) I will be making some minor cosmetic improvements to the neck as well as including decals this time around. There may also be a surprise included, just because. I'm looking for 10 orders to help bring this to fruition. As per with the original issue, the kit will include all three head options. Base price is $300 CAD (about $230 USD) -$338 CAD shipped anywhere in Canada or the US -$358 CAD shipped internationally by Small Packet Air For those asking why they should get this in stead of the Evolution Toy, or any other toy variant, I will let photos speak for themselves.
  6. Just like the title says. Would you buy a repop? Well you'll get your chance later this year but right now we are just gauging interest. Cheers, Brett

    Armored GERWALK Project VF-1

Hello, Happy New Year to everyone and thanks for viewing my thread. The VF-1AG (Armored GERWALK) always appealed to me, most likely because I love military tanks. The initial project was around (15) years ago when we tried to create a removable armor set for a the Yamato 1/48 VF-1. Unfortunately the MW member (Fulcy) who was working on the scratch build wasn't able to finish his work. I was of course disappointed and lost interest over the years, but never forgot about it. In 2017 I decided to give it another try, and contacted my long time friend Carl (wwwmwww) since he has the only known 1/100 VF-1AG resin kit in existence. He has quite an amazing collection and this particular kit is one of rarest of the rare. Just finding pictures is a challenge, and Carl was nice enough to allow me to borrow his kit. Lastly, I appreciate the coordination and assistance of Shawn who was informed of the project from the beginning. Another longtime MW member and trusted friend (Tom) agreed to receive the kit and make a copy so Carl's original could be returned. Unfortunately the very small garage kit company has been out of business for a long time, and their resin recasts weren't well done. I doubt they made very many, but there was a lot of pin holes, a few blobs of resin, thin/missing sections and so forth. We were able to make color pictures of the kit's photographs and inserts as well. So, the next issue became fixing everything and I came up with a list of upgrades so our VF-1AG would be unique/improved. Most of them were able to implemented, and we're happy with the results. Here is the list: 1.) Hollow metal gun barrels 2.) Grind out just the cockpit (pilot, chair, instrument panel, clear canopy from Bandai 1/100 VF-1J kit) 3.) Drill out any resin gun barrels (main cannons, hand cannons) 4.) Metal antenna both sides top turret 5.) Brass rods/pins so the cannons can elevate 6.) Gun pod and hands (Bandai 1/100 VF-1J kit or Bandai Gundam style hands) 7.) Replace stubby/damaged VF-1AG wings if needed (Bandai 1/100 VF-1J kit) 8.) Shoulder missile launcher doors opened and missiles inside 9.) Decals (Bandai 1/100 VF-1J kit) 10.) Main turret able to rotate We ended up with a VF-1AG based upon the original, but with new parts plus many hours of repairs. The updated version was then recast with a high pressure pot to create a new molds free of defects. Please keep in mind that the VF-1AG was loosely put together for pictures, the positioning of the arms/legs can be better. Our next goal is to improve the stance to achieve a downward tilt of the nose as well as placing the legs into the preferred "A Stance". Personally, GERWALK mode has always been my favorite since it's what defines Macross to stand apart from other anime with either airplanes or robots. I enjoy collecting Macross resin kits, but all along my goal was to make available a removable armor version that could be attached like the GBP-1 sets. Before the armor can be created, we needed to have a 3D representation of what a VF-1AG is. There is only one known line art and only one super rare resin kit, but I overcame that obstacle. We've now proceeded further than the initial attempt and have spoken to parties interested in working with me to have the armor set created. At this point I'm considering to make it for the Bandai 1/100 VF-1 Hi-Metal line first, just because they have a nice sculpt, good price, easily obtained, and it's cheaper/easier to start with a smaller scale. If viable, we could then move on to the Yamato 1/60 Version 2. Of course all of this will require a pretty big investment, so hopefully there is some interest in owning a new and improved resin kit of the VF-1AG in 1/100. Please feel free to let me know your thoughts and suggestions. After more than (15) years of waiting, I can now proudly display an extremely rare design. My feeling was to make a Max & Milia VF-1JAG set to compliment the Bandai VF-1J M & M Hi-metal valkyries. I owe my thanks to Carl, Tom and Shawn for making it possible. Sincerely, Christopher
  8. I'm baaaaack! And this time I plan to reissue the King Crab (Gosu doppleganger) kit, with your help. This is the biggest and most elaborate of all the Inbit kits in my line, a true King Crab! Just as with the original, it will have a translucent eye and canopy part as well as a detailed cockpit ready to accept aftermarket pilot figues (not included this time). Just like the Pinky, the kit is free-pose. Price would be $300 CAD (about $233 US)+ shipping with up-front payment required and I'd need a minimum of 10 orders to get the ball rolling on the project. Shipping prices are as follows: -$26 CAD per kit shipped in Canada or the US -$48 CAD per kit shipped internationally. Any takers?

    Introducing RTKF

Hello All, since the admins have re opened registration I thought it would be best to sort out an account. In short my wife and I have started our own little label selling kits - the first of which are patterns acquired from the man himself Captain America. This is something really cool that we are really enjoying and have a lot of great ideas for stuff we want to produce. However for the moment we are offering (all in 1/72): - Regult (both with and without cockpit) - Regult Missile Carrier (Light and Heavy) - Regult Scout - Gnerl (with Pilot) All kits come with printed full colour instructions and decals. We feel quite honoured that John has chosen to sell his exquisite sculptures to us and have been working very hard to make sure that we do them justice. I have attached some images below but if anyone has any questions just fire them off here, or contact us at returntokitform@gmail.com or through our FaceBook page. Regards, Brett and Chrissy (The RTKF Team)

    Yamato/Arcadia Kits

so I've seen Yamato VF-1 and Arcadia VF-0 Armour kits... they seem to be a cheaper alternative to buying a finished version, and allow for customization more readily, but I have several questions: Are these resin or plastic? how do the joints hold up vs actual finished products? and most importantly: are they going to kit the 1/3000 SDF-1, and if so where do I lurk to get my hands on one?
  11. Hey all, This is me offering a third possible re-release of my 1/48 crab line of models for your consideration: the Blueberry Crab (Inbit Gamo doppleganger) As with previous offerings, I would need a 10-order minimum (payable up-front) to kick the project off. If you're interested, let your typing fingers fly! Basic kit price per crab: $205 CAD (about $165 US) -Price per kit shipped (US/Canada): $240 CAD -Price for 2 kits shipped (US/Canada): $461 CAD -Price per kit shipped (international): $263 CAD

    1/72 Fighter Pod Build

In amongst everything else that I have on my plate I am building up this fighter pod as a demo for our kit. It is taking a while as I am spreading my time across a few builds plus casting, being a husband and father and working full time but it is coming along. I chose east block aircraft cockpit colors as they are a bit more vibrant and contrast nicely with the dull green exterior. The colours are just blocked in for now with plenty more detail painting, fading and washes etc to come (a pilot too). Let us know what you think! Cheers, Brett

Yamato 1/60 Fan Racer Resin Cast Finished

Hi guys, I just finished my resin copy of the model kit of yamato fan racer 1/60. I share the finished work images. To show it, i adapt a connector of the bandai act 5 stage to be able to use it. I have a lot of work with the molds but I am very happy with the result. I copy the original kit of yamato that was bought by a friend on ebay for 200 dollars, very expensive for me. Regards!
  14. Post your links for your build ups or completed models threads here. Resin kits, plastic injection or scratch. Let other kit builders know where your thread is or if you want, post pics here.
  15. Hello, I have just received the superb Master File dedicated to the VF-4, so here is one of my resin VF-4 kit, a good Club-M recast made by SMS: instruction sheets and decals: Main resin parts: See ya !
  16. Back in the pre-Hasegawa days, this was the best kit you're going to find of a 1/72 VF-1 Valkyrie. And now, thanks to Hasegawa, you can find these for a steal. Seriously, if you're paying more than ¥3500 for this now, you're getting ripped off. Only decals are the kites, skulls, and other miscellaneous markings. Everything else painted.

    1/72 Nousjadeul Ger Moscato kit?

Aaaand back to Macross! Maybe. So as I had stated in a previous thread, there were some outstanding Macross subjects still needing to be done, namely the Zentradi battle suits. I'm offering this subject as the next contender in the 1/72 series, which would have the following characteristics: - based on the TV series design -can be built with cockpit open or closed -in-scale with my previously-released Zentradi soldier, so will be quite a large kit (22.5-23cm tall!) Due to its size and the complexity of the sculpt, this would NOT be a cheap offering at 355.00 Canadian ($285 US approximately) but it would be... Glorious!!! As you have all put a $200 CAD deposit, there is the $155 CAD outstanding balance on the kits as well as the shipping fees which are as follows: $30.00 CAD up to 2 kits for USA/Canada $72.00 CAD for international shipping. Also very important: please add an extra 5% to the total to cover transaction fees if there are any. Generally PP will let you know before you send if there are fees and ask you if you will pay or make the recipient pay. I will commence casting on Monday once I test and group the molds for optimum casting.
  18. Hi guys! As promised, I am putting forth the final pitch to gauge interest in a 1/48 Mospeada Legioss soldier mode (hereinafter referred to as Buster: Henshin Robo) resin model to accompany the Crabb army which I made a little while ago. I would also make all three head variations: Blue, Green and Red to allow for more versatility in the collection. Kit would be free-pose type (build it in the desired pose only) although certain joints will allow for minimal re-posing. Decals and markings: I will do the artwork, which I will then offer as open-source so that you can download and print as you see fit. This is going to be quite a bit more of an undertaking than most of my previous models, simply by virtue of its geometric complexity so you'd be looking at a $292 Canadian price-point (about $222 US) plus shipping. I would need a minimum of 30 orders to get the ball rolling so ask yourselves: is Buster right for YOU?
  19. Part 1 of my big building project is finished! From the old PS-1 video game "Macross Digital Mission VF-X" is the first 3 of the 6 fighters in the game. They're all 1/144 scale resin kits from Yellow Submarine. Each kit also comes with a Milky Doll figure, but I suck at doing figures, so keep an eye on the "For Sale" section in the next month or so. VF-1X Plus Strike Valkyrie Vf-4 Lightning VF-11 Super Thunderbolt 3 more to come, stay tuned!
  20. OK, after only 9 months or so (I am NEVER doing another group build!!) I'm finally finished with all the kits from the Yellow Submarine "Macross Digital Mission VF-X" line (at least the fighters). All are resin cast, and 1/144 scale. Group photo VF-17D Super Nightmare VF-19A Excalibur, with FAST Packs VF-22 Sturmvogel II
  21. Just saw it listed: http://www.hlj.com/product/MTBMB-23 http://www.amiami.com/top/detail/detail?gcode=TOY-RBT-3111&page=top Previous discussion: http://www.macrossworld.com/mwf/index.php?showtopic=36352 Similar Macross product from that lines were all convention only limited release. The company also has a "MB Gokin" metal toy line released with co-operation with Yamato, for example, but no hint of if the toy line will include Macross.
  22. Hi Macrossworld fans, Bought Moscato's Glaug from Viceland awhile back, and I got it painted by my bro, Luca Zampriolo who brought you the beautifully painted Club M Strike Valkyrie, which can be found here. http://www.macrossworld.com/mwf/index.php?showtopic=42575 This time, he has tackled the Glaug, and he does not disappoint. Check out the AMAZING built of this kit. Notice the modifications he's done to the legs and the backside. The back was a bit plain, so he decided to spruce it up a bit. We were both inspired by the old Arii box art. I hope you all enjoy this as much as I do. If you wish to contact Luca Zampriolo, please check him out here. 23. Here is my WIP of a Moscato 1/72 Destroid Spartan. Thanks to Viceland for selling it, Gabe Q for the instructions, and Mr. Moscato for creating the kit. This kit is an interesting challenge. I've never worked with resin before, and I've had to really pull out my bag of tricks: Dremel tool, 3 different types of Xacto knives, sanding sticks, and side cutters. These are the first set of pieces that have gone through initial cleaning and sanding. There is a lot more work to be done. The waist piece had a little too much Dremel, but that actually ended up being a good thing as the center torso and waist fit together almost perfectly. I'm also glad I followed some advice I found about working with resin kits: wear a respirator. I was not prepared for the amount of dust these pieces would produce, even with wet sanding. I hope to have more soon!
