  2. Nope, that's not a typo. Apparently we're getting another Deadpool, less than a year after the last one. https://www.thewrap.com/new-deadpool-movie-gets-december-release-fox/ I dunno, I enjoyed the first one and I loved the second one, but I don't really want to be 'Pooled out. Assuming they can even make a good movie in such a short time.

    General TV thread

So I recently made a thread for Arrow on CW, but I just gotta make another. I believe we're in the golden age of TV, we're finally at the point when we are getting truly quality performances and stories on both basic and premium cable, there's literally something for everybody. So how about Hannibal? This is yet another series that's been blowing my mind for two seasons now, easily the most graphic and disturbing show on television, I find every episode to be pretty excellent. There are some really incredible performances throughout, Mads Mikkelsen is pretty much my favorite Hannibal since Anthony Hopkins horrified people in Silence of the Lambs, as a long time fan and reader of the Red Dragon novels I've got even more to love. Another fantastic episode tonight, the situation Graham has found himself in is hard to watch but you know there's more there than we're seeing, Hugh Dancy also absolutely dominating his role as the tormented Will Graham. My DVR is full, I've got something recorded almost every night, but I always find myself looking forward to Friday night Hannibal.

  15. (I don't know why the last thread was locked, but I'm sure people here still want to talk about Avatar. Remember to keep the discussion clean and leave any political, racial or inappropriate comments at the front door.) Now, for updates on Avatar: - The film bagged two awards for Best Picture and Best Director for a Drama (James Cameron) at the Golden Globe Awards. - Worldwide ticket sales have topped US$1.6 billion, which means it just needs US$200 million more to overtake Titanic. And, as expected, Cameron will be making at least two sequels. The first sequel will take place shortly after the first. Sam Worthington has signed on to reprise his role as Jake Sully in future sequels. Meanwhile, Stephen Lang had this to say about his character, Col. Miles Quaritch:
  16. The Fantastic Four will undergo yet another reboot in 2015, after the 2005 film and its sequel failed to live up to expectations. Josh Trank (Chronicle) has been given the director's chair, while Matthew Vaughn (X-Men: First Class, Kick-Ass) and Akiva Goldsman (Batman & Robin, Jonah Hex) are on-board as producers. Screenplay is by Michael Green (Green Lantern) and Seth Grahame-Smith (Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter, Dark Shadows). Filming crew has moved from Vancouver to Louisiana due to better tax incentives. Currently, no actors have been named to portray the Fantastic Four or Doctor Doom, though it was heavily rumored that Michael B. Jordan (Steve in Chronicle) was to be cast as Johnny Storm/The Human Torch, Miles Teller (Sutter in The Spectacular Now) as Reed Richards/Mr. Fantastic, and Allison Williams (Marnie in Girls) as Susan Storm/Invisible Girl. The reboot is scheduled for release on March 6, 2015, and is said to share continuity with the X-Men series after Days of Future Past.

    Hitman: Agent 47

Remember the 2007 film adaptation of the popular video game series Hitman? No one does. So naturally, someone makes a film reboot. To coincide with the upcoming video game reboot by IO Entertainment and Square Enix, we have Hitman: Agent 47, starring Rupert Friend as the numbered assassin Agent 47. Also in the film are Zachary Quinto (Spock in the current Star Trek film series), Hanna Ware (Donna in Oldboy), Angelababy (Rain in Independence Day: Resurgence), and Thomas Kretschmann (Fegelein in Downfall, Baron Strucker in the Marvel Cinematic Universe). Hitman: Agent 47 premieres on August 21. And we all know what one certain assassin has to say... Official Site

    Jumper

Jumper New Regency Productions/20th Century Fox, 2008 Directed by Doug Liman (The Bourne Identity, Mr. & Mrs. Smith) Based on the novel by Steven Gould Running Time: 90 minutes Rated PG-13 for violence, mature situations and strong language. Cast Hayden Christensen (the man who nearly destroyed Star Wars) as David Rice Rachel Bilson (Summer in The O.C.) as Millie Harris Jamie Bell (Billy Elliot) as Griffin Samuel L. Jackson (the most overused actor today) as Roland Cox Michael Rooker (Henry: Portrait of a Serial Killer) as William Rice Diane Lane (Christopher Lambert's ex-wife) as Mary Rice "You think you can go on like this forever? Living like this without consequences? There's always consequences." - Roland Cox Synopsis David Rice is a Jumper - a person with the abilities to teleport anywhere from one side of a room to London, Egypt, or just about anywhere on a travel magazine. After years of using his abilities to rob banks and enjoy the great outdoors, he jumps back to his old hometown of Ann Arbor, MI, to reunite his childhood girlfriend Millie. When they travel to Rome, David finds out he's not alone when he bumps into another Jumper named Griffin. He also finds himself in the middle of a secret war with the Paladins - a group of religious fanatics who have been hunting down Jumpers for centuries. Lowdown Why is it that almost every movie year kicks off with an over-budgeted, overrated box-office stinker? This year, we have Jumper, a movie with absolutely no redeeming value. The concept is good, but like many Hollywood film adaptations, it's poorly executed. The storyline is flat and predictable, and the acting is just unbearably bad. And I haven't even talked about Hayden Christensen, who still can't act his way out of a paper bag after ruining the last two Star Wars films. Both Samuel L. Jackson and Diane Lane wasted their time on this film, as none of the characters were developed enough to peak anyone's interest in this movie. Visual effects were done by New Zealand-based Weta Workshop (The Lord of the Rings trilogy, King Kong), which are good, but wasted on this POS film. As a matter of fact, the only noticeable visual eye candy is Rachel Bilson. In short, don't even bother renting or torrenting Jumper at all. Rating: F DVD Extras: B The 2-disc Special Edition DVD includes a behind-the-scenes featurette, an alternate introduction sequence and an illustrated prequel feature (similar to the not-so-animated Transformers: Beginnings). Disc 2 is a digital copy of the film that you can transfer to your iPod or MP3 player. Links Official Jumper Homepage Reference The Internet Movie Database
