Since the 30th anniversary of Alien is this year, new video games are being developed and Dark Horse is coming out with new comics, I thought a thread like this would be appropriate. Did anybody check out the Free Comic Book Day Aliens/Predator preview issue? New Aliens and Predator comics; it's like I'm six all over again.

Saw these recently from here: http://www.figures.com/forums/showthread.php?t=79757 Looks good! The initial release will be from Alien/Aliens: • UD-4L Cheyenne Dropship, with miniature Armored Personnel Carrier that fits inside the bay (Aliens) • M577 Armored Personnel Carrier (Aliens) • “Origin” Derelict Ship with display stand (Alien) • Fossilized Space Jockey (Alien) There will be more from other franchises such as Terminator (Aerial HK/Tank HK), Predator ... Looks like a boon for sci-fi vehicle collectors!

Arrival is the latest film by director Denis Villeneuve (Prisoners, Sicario), starring Amy Adams (Brenda in Catch Me If You Can, Mary in The Muppets), Jeremy Renner (Hansel in Hansel & Gretel: Witch Hunters, Aaron Cross in The Bourne Legacy), and Forest Whitaker (Charles in Fast Times at Ridgemont High, Ker in Battlefield Earth). Based on Story of Your Life by Ted Chiang, it is a sci-fi film about the arrival of an alien ship and mankind's attempt to communicate with it. The film will make its world premiere at the Venice Film Festival on September 2 before hitting theaters on November 11

Well, here comes another Alien film. I'm part stoked because honestly Prometheus was a total let down but also a bit nervous. http://variety.com/2015/film/news/new-alien-movie-confirmed-at-fox-with-director-neill-blomkamp-1201436551/ Both points argued pretty well in this article; http://www.wired.com/2015/02/neill-blomkamp-alien/ So ready or not - Xenomorphs! -b.

This is the first time Reebok will release the high top "Ripley" version as well as the low ones worn by Bishop. The question for me now is which ones to get. I want them mostly for display, so Ripley's seem to be the best choice because they're more iconic, but I like Bishop's better and I love the character, decisions decisions. Looks pretty damn cool IMO. Didn't think the colony would still be there though....unless it was farther from the atmosphere processing plant than originally thought. Still gonna pick this up. Trailer looks fantastic. http://ingame.msnbc.msn.com/_news/2011/09/01/7544289-decades-later-aliens-gets-a-sequel-you-can-play Chris

Is it just me or does the Mayan birdman/protoculture genesis theory from Macross Zero sound a lot like the ancient astronaut theory pitched in the history channel's shows Ancient Aliens and In Search of Aliens? Don't get me wrong, I don't subscribe to it. It's just scifi to me at this point. The parallelism is just interesting.

I continued straight on from modeling the FW-190 and roughing out a possible Toggel (Zzard command mecha) to the alien mook suit, the Klogg, but found the thing a real fight to figure out all the mechanisms for, and kept switching back and forth between two basic designs as one of the parts cleared up... then I discovered that I had two workable designs, intended for the same unit but related only in that they have two main engines and three omnidirectional vector fins, and use the same super parts. Which one is better, do you think? The Klogg Naro is based directly on my original paper sket
