  1. I'm not sure if this counts as a local gathering but an internet buddy of mine by the name of SoulBroRyu and his partner-in-crime Shoji Ramuro are going to be hosting a little Livestream get-together tomorrow night at 11:45 PM EST. Join us for Macross DYRL and Macross Plus (movie version) and let's Macross out!! http://new.livestream.com/accounts/3310250/events/2110667
  2. I just bought the 30th Ann Hikaru VF-1S. One of the missile hard points snapped off. Do I glue it on? If so, what glue? Acetone weld? Anybody want to sell me a starboard wing? HELP!!!
  3. Some of you (hopefully) noticed that I recently got the book VF Modeling Manual. In there, they give a description on how to do a recessed vernier for your 1/72 kit. As I am building an old Imai Gerwalk now, and trying to pep it up a bit, here's what I did to make the vernier. Start by getting yourself some 5 mm plastic pipe. I'm using Tamiya. No special reason for it being clear, that's just what the hobby shop happened to have in stock. Next, take the part you want, and drill a 5 mm hole (obviously, on the Hasegawa kits, just remove the original casted vernier area. Cut a small piece of the rod. I did around 4 mm long. Then, smooth out the rough edge. Now, here is where I'm deviating from the Modeling Manual plans, since I've got some extra parts from Jasmine Models lovely VF-1 PE set. I'm using the round pieces in the lower left. Glue the round piece onto one end of the short tube. Draw a mark on the tube for how far you want to insert it into your kit. You only want to go 2 mm or so. Put it, and glue it. Once the glue has set, trim off the excess, and sand it flat. Put on the top piece, and you're finished! (actually, wait to do this until you've primed and painted. much easier to get the inside black with no cover) Now, if you don't have the PE set, use a small disk of plaplate (5 mm, natch), and a small strip over the top of it. You'll also want to get a circle scribing template (probably around 6 mm) to go around the outside of the hole.
  4. Hello all, first post here! Just wanted to share with you guys my latest 3d work on macross. Hope you like it.
  5. Not a total success just yet. It still needs a lot of work but I just got my prototype for my stow-able 1/48 DYRL articulated hands. I have to work on some tolerance issues and missing parts from the printer. But it seems like it's getting there. Hopefully it'll be done soon, but it looks like I got another round of prototyping...
  6. How much would you guys be willing to pay for a 1/24 scale ultra detailed VF-1 from Yamato? When i say ultra detail i mean removeable fusilage panels to reveal interior detail like the engines, frame work, and a true perfect transformation. No more swing bar for the legs, but just like the line art shows, legs that swing from hydrolic hard points and then connect to the nose/crotch for batteroid. And no more gimicks like plug in pieces to fill in gaps to the body, that should all be intergrated. oh and lastly, a pilots seat that comes out through the neck.
