  1. Throw another one on the shelves! Just finished up my 1/48 scale DYRL version of the VF-1S (from Hasegawa), done up as Max's ride. Very straightforward build, nothing surprising. I realized that with all the Valkyries/variable fighters I've built, I've never had one displayed in full-speed mode. Decided to remedy that defect with this kit. As usual, more can be seen here.
  2. If the internets are correct this movie opened in theaters on July 7, 1984. Let's all reminisce about the VERY FIRST time you watched this timeless masterpiece.
  3. Which film between DYRL and EoE in your opinion, was more beautiful? I'm talking in terms of sheer imagery, animation, style, colors, etc? I just watched EoE and man, I must say it was pure eye candy, but still doesn't trump DYRL in my opinion.
  4. Hi, i am really new to the Macross franchise and was interested in getting Macross 30. I just wanted to know a few things before buying it. How does the story mode work? Is it mission after mission then restart the campaign or can you select a specific mission at any time like AC5? Also I have heard that this game has a original storyline but are there any additional missions or DLC which enable you to play through specific parts of the show i.e. the ending of DYRL. Also are the songs from the shows present such as Minmay's "Little white dragon"? Thanks!
  5. I'm not sure if this counts as a local gathering but an internet buddy of mine by the name of SoulBroRyu and his partner-in-crime Shoji Ramuro are going to be hosting a little Livestream get-together tomorrow night at 11:45 PM EST. Join us for Macross DYRL and Macross Plus (movie version) and let's Macross out!! http://new.livestream.com/accounts/3310250/events/2110667
  6. Was just recently reminded of the DYRL movie and streamed it. Was immediately blown away, just like when I was a kid. Decided I must own this movie!! The problem, which version. Did some research and found that there are many versions on different formats. I understand that the latest BluRay version is edited/censored, so that is a "NO". Also found that there were some dvd versions released in the last few years, so possibly one of those. Can someone give me some advice or opinion on what is the best UNCUT version of this movie and why? If it happens to be an out of print or older edtion (or boot), that is fine too--don't mind hunting. I just want the best experience of the uncut movie. *I own a region-free dvd player, VHS player and Laserdisk player. THANK YOU!!
  7. I watched DYRL and just finished SDF. SDF was great! Question is what should I watch next? (and any ideas where I can watch for free would be great too)
  8. I'm planning to add English subs to my copy of DYRL BD and my initial forum search led me to these threads of interest: - Hurin's awesome subtitle upgrade (5/18/2005 Update): http://www.macrossworld.com/mwf/index.php?showtopic=13965 - Hurin's other upgrade (10/6/2005 Update): http://www.macrossworld.com/mwf/index.php?showtopic=13441 - Hurin mentioning re-timing his previous efforts for the 2007 R2 version: http://www.macrossworld.com/mwf/index.php?showtopic=24267&page=6#entry546651 Although these were for older releases, I'm still interested (and only interested) in the SRT files that I can edit on my own (I imagine some of the timings will need to be adjusted for the BD release), but a few questions... 1. In the Working Files/Timed Scripts folder, there is an additonal "non-wide" version of the SRT file which ends on line 4481 (compared to 4457 in the other version). What is the difference (24 lines?) between the "non-wide" and "regular" version? 2. My first guess would be to use the latest update (10/6), but the SRT files between the 5/18 (macross-dyrl-r2-perfect-subs) and 10/6 (macross-dyrl-fx-subs-v2) versions all share the same file modification dates. Is it safe to assume that the SRT files used between the two versions are identical and that the updates/changes were only for the other files? 3. These were made in 2005. Has a more recent version appeared or were these pretty much already perfect, making further updates unnecessary? My plan is just to rip the movie then add subs and MKV it, so all I'm really missing is a good SRT file (that will no doubt need some adjustments). Interesting tidbit: my only other copy of DYRL is a "perfect edition" that I picked up at Amazon and I'm 99.9% sure it was built using Hurin's subs.
  9. Hey guys, sorry I have not been on in a long time, been busy with work and will be leaving for Okinawa for a couple of months, got to support the USMC bases there. Anyways I thought I was share with you all the blu-ray Macross DYRL 30th aniversary that is on youtube, but it is in english, fan dub'ed by Dark Heroes Entertainment and it is good, very great in my opinion. It can be streamed in 720p and the sound is nice, here is the link if you want to see it, http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vwJjrWhYv3g I will finish the movie once I get to Okinawa and also have shots of Sake while watching it, I swore to myself before watching the whole thing P.S. As an American fan of Macross lets not copy and sell this or sh*t like that, just out of respect.
  10. Hi everyone, This is my first post and I just wanted to share with you guys a lego project that I've been working on! This is the SDF 1 from Macross Do You Remember Love. It's fully transformable so no removal of pieces is required. Some finishing touches still need to be made, but I hope you like it! http://www.flickr.com/photos/64767766@N07/

  12. Not a total success just yet. It still needs a lot of work but I just got my prototype for my stow-able 1/48 DYRL articulated hands. I have to work on some tolerance issues and missing parts from the printer. But it seems like it's getting there. Hopefully it'll be done soon, but it looks like I got another round of prototyping...
  13. Hi all, my original thread of the 1/2000 SDF-1 was originally posted in the "toy" forum, but since all the 1/3000 SDF-1 mod are posted here, I may as well do so. Also, I am hoping that this thread will be pinned, so that my SDF-1 customization can have a home. For the original thread on the built up, modification, and reference on the "1/2000 SDF-1 Customized", here is the link: http://www.macrossworld.com/mwf/index.php?showtopic=33243&st=0 For the 1/3000 SDF-1, I must admit, I haven't spend nearly as much time on it as the 1/2000 SDF-1. The 1/3000 SDF-1 was only lightly lined and weathered, but you will see, this toy has lots of potential! Hopefully the comparison will be another useful reference. For those who have seen the old thread, these are all new pictures (taken with my new camera), and it seems to pick up the details better. I have divided up the sections as such: 1.) 1/3000 SDF-1 - Crusier mode 2.) 1/2000 SDF-1 - Crusier mode 3.) 1/3000 vs 1/2000 SDF-1 - Crusier mode Comparison 4.) 1/3000 SDF-1 - Attacker mode 5.) 1/2000 SDF-1 - Attacker mode 6.) 1/3000 vs 1/2000 SDF-1 - Attacker mode Comparison Here are the sections, enjoy! 1.) 1/3000 SDF-1 - Crusier mode
