  1. Thought it might be good to have a Fembot and related Genere Thread. Examples Transformers Windblade/Arcee, Macross Frontier Frame Girls or Shin Mazinger Minerva. or whatever you want to show(Forum Rules Apply).
  2. Not a huge fan of Robotech, but he did manage to bring Macross to the west for the US kids of the 80s.
  3. Oy vey! Another merger. Not sure what I think about this one, but I got sent a message from RightStuf today letting me know about it. RightStuf/Nozomi is merging with Crunchyroll/Sony. It’s also all over the internet now. https://www.animenewsnetwork.com/news/2022-08-04/crunchyroll-purchases-anime-retailer-right-stuf/.188366 https://www.crunchyroll.com/anime-news/2022/08/04-1/crunchyroll-closes-deal-to-acquire-anime-superstore-right-stuf Edit: It looks like RightStuf had to remove its entire line of adult anime, manga, and figures to prepare for the move. A separate company is now getting ready to step in and sell these abandoned products.
  4. If this has been posted already please ignore but apparently Netflix is doing a Bastard!! anime:
  5. There are a few animes that I can watch over and over and never get bored. Of course there is the different Macross series but the others are Mospeada, Gall Force, & Masamune Shirow's Dominion & New Dominion Tank Police. I and a huge fan of Leona & her tank Bonaparte as well as the rest of the Tank Police. I collect anime cels, whenever I can find them, comics and figures. I was just wondering if there were any other Tank Police fans out there.

  7. Hello, I noticed that we did not have a thread out for Phoenix Fan Fusion this year. I know it is not normally a big Macross event but it does have some bits and pieces for those interested on going. I remember finding some of the background material for Macross in the Vendor Hall at this convention a couple years ago. As for events and such for Macross I do not remember anything happening for that though I do seem to remember one year we had one of the VAs for the ADV Dub of SDF Macross. Anyways. I hope to see you there!
  8. Out of nowhere Bandai is bringing a new action figure. I couldn’t find a thread for the show, so I figured I’d start one in case other items appear like new kits other action figures or just a rerelease of the series.
  9. Finally the year-long project (with Plasmo) is completed, enjoy if you like both Secret of blue water and EVA AMV: [/img] Plasmo's video showing some processes: PS: the boss of the company who produced the tower, told me that Anno Hideaki's studio ordered 2 towers to promote EVA (3.0+1.0 I guess as a ship crash into tower again). He sent the video to Anno's colleague so hopefully Anno will finally see this work in full glory (He paid much homage to N-Nautilus with AAA Wunder in Evangelion 3.33).
  10. I decided to try out the technique in a bigger model, a friend may want me to build and paint his 1/20 planax, but I declined as I think I need practice and I am a really bad builder
  11. I'm not sure if many of you remember the El-Hazard: Magnificent World OVA's from back in the 90s, but to me it was a classic. It looks like AIC is trying to get funding for a direct sequel to the original OVAs featuring the offspring of several of the original characters plus a new one from the school where the story originally took place. I'll be supporting this one with what I can. https://www.animenewsnetwork.com/news/2018-08-12/aic-plans-crowdfunding-for-el-hazard-sequel-project/.135364
  12. Thought I might start a post on this, Because of its Macross relevance. First and foremost, "Mechanic design: Shoji Kawamori" and after watching the trailer I think I see why. Dragons hiding in jets! Second then they transform out and wear the jet parts as armor. I'm thinking this show might be worth a watch. The described as "a heartwarming story...filled with love, laughter and tears", the plot of Hisone and Masotan is as follows: Straightforward and innocent Hisone Amakasu is a rookie self-defense official. She was struggling with the fact that she sometimes hurts people unintentionally by her innocent words and decided to join in Air Self-Defence, hoping to maintain a certain distance from people. This decision led her to a fateful encounter which profoundly changes her life. It was the dragon hidden in the base and it chose Hisone as his pilot. When it soared into the sky with Hisone, her fate as a dragon pilot was decided. It is said that dragons have a key to the future of the world… Hisone and Masotan will broadcast in Japan in 2018. An official Twitter feed (@hisomaso_anime) has also been published for Hisone and Masotan.
  13. I thought that Since we seemed to lack a general Mecha discussion thread, I'd start one. Questions, Comments, Debates, whatever could go here. It would be really fantastic if this could get pinned, but I'll let the mods decide. Or they could decide that I'm just asinine and delete this thread. I hope not... So to kick it off I'll toss a Question out there: What is the best Variable fighter in Macross? I say the VF-11. It looks cool, Probably has the longest service life of any VF in universe and has been flown by more hero characters than any other (I think, I know that M&M flew the prototype, and also first run production models probably, Isamu, Kinryu, Ray Lovelock, Gamlin, and Mylene all flew variants of the VF-11). What say you?
  14. Esta temporada estoy siguiendo Made in Abyss y Fate/Apocrypha. ¿Y ustedes?
  15. So I have wanted to see Zero forever.....saw the first episode fansubbed years ago but couldn't find the others. Finally had a chance to watch it this past week and liked some things about it and disliked somethings about it. Shin kinda sucks as a main character, his motivations are hard to understand and he seems to waffle from episode to episode as to what his focus is. Zero Roy is a very interesting take and not what I expected based on his (Robotech) persona. Still thought he was probably the best character in the show. The show itself almost seemed like two separate series; it's basically kick-a**-tropical-Valkyrie-battle-show and then this almost separate "Macross-Island-Adventure", which makes me think of Evangelion for some reason. It's almost like the two aspects of the show don't really connect, at least not in the same way that they do in the original Macross, Plus, or Frontier. That said the Valkyrie battles were excellent. In fact while the show falls far below Plus the dogfights were actually much better in my opinion. The valks move in a much more believable manner than Plus where Isamu routinely flew his valk around in a manner that looked like a child playing with a toy. Also the more gritty, realistic, pre-SDF Macross designs and combat was really well done and that final face off between Shin/Nora and Roy/Ivanov was friggin awesome. I also liked that the series presented both the UN and Anti-UN forces in equally unfavorable light as things unfold. The original Macross tells us that the alien ship crashed and all humanity united; this version presents a slightly more realistic view of a more tumultuous transition prior to the Zentradi arrival. Overall a cool series though nowhere near as good as Plus or what I have seen thus far of Frontier which I also just started. That said some of my favorite mechs from the franchise now come from Zero after having finally seen it. In fact I was planning to clear out my Zero Valks but now they are probably my favorites.
  16. I'm baaaaack! And this time I plan to reissue the King Crab (Gosu doppleganger) kit, with your help. This is the biggest and most elaborate of all the Inbit kits in my line, a true King Crab! Just as with the original, it will have a translucent eye and canopy part as well as a detailed cockpit ready to accept aftermarket pilot figues (not included this time). Just like the Pinky, the kit is free-pose. Price would be $300 CAD (about $233 US)+ shipping with up-front payment required and I'd need a minimum of 10 orders to get the ball rolling on the project. Shipping prices are as follows: -$26 CAD per kit shipped in Canada or the US -$48 CAD per kit shipped internationally. Any takers?
  17. It's with sadness that I read that Noboru Ishiguro's old studio, Artland has closed down. Over the years it delivered some real quality shows like Musishi, Legend of Galactic Heroes, Megazone 23 and it was one of the studio's that helped out Nue to make our very own Macross. Some big time names like Haruhiko Mikimoto and Hideaki Anno did some of their early work at Artland. A real shame, but then again, animation studios unfortunately get a very small slice of the pie moneywise in the anime industry.
  18. I've been perusing Tenjin Hidetaka's Instagram account, I like the cats to know if you guys have also been following other similar artists/mechanical designers and who are you following?
