  1. I don't know how many people here follow the screenprint market. But there are a bunch for Ghost in the Shell. Sometimes the prints can go for a lot of money. And I saw some recent auctions for the old 1000 Editions prints on eBay. I was looking for a few of those along with other people on various forums and I think the Reddit topic, which I'm not a member. As there are only topics for the various Ghost in the Shell series and also Toys and Models. I thought I would start one for the prints and occasional items that show up. Like there is supposed to be an American drawn comic coming out next year. There used to be a good site called I think the Shirow Hyperpage which had all kinds of news, info, and items. Without it I wouldn't have a few Shirow designed tech items. But that closed down like many fan pages. Here is the popular and now expensive Mondo screenprint. I posted about this one in another topic a few years back. There are more by other artists and from other companies too. Also, the old 1000 Editions prints which are up on eBay. These are on a textured paper.
  2. Netflix continues to drop the big news for their upcoming slate of anime titles, from the return of Neon Genesis Evangelion to the likes of 7SEEDS. But now the streaming service have announced another big series from a well-known franchise. In a collaboration between studios Production I.G and SOLA DIGITAL ARTS, they have announced plans for a new Ghost in the Shell project, currently titled Ghost in the Shell SAC_2045 which is set for worldwide distribution in 2020. Kenji Kamiyama (Ghost in the Shell: Stand Alone Complex) & Shinji Araki (Appleseed) are confirmed to be working on the project. No other news has been revealed as of yet.
  3. "Anime News Network reports that Production I.G, the studio that produced all of Ghost in the Shell's adaptations into anime (the two movies and the three Stand Alone Complex works) has received permission to develop a Hollywood adaptation of the Masamume Shirow created cyborg sci-fi. A new contract with rights holder Kodansha allows Production I.G. to represent the creators and negotiate distribution of a live action film." Man I pray it will be good!
  4. New Ghost in the Shell announced! With Ubakata writing the script, I'm expecting great things. It's certainly different to what I was expecting tho (ie, Stand Alone Complex 3) http://www.animenewsnetwork.com/news/2013-01-15/ghost-in-the-shell-arise-anime-to-launch-in-2013
  5. I've not seen anyone else post about this, but there is something of a mini-renaissance coming up for fans of 1990's-era anime classics. Cowboy Bebop, Ghost in the Shell and Princess Mononoke are all set to be released in North America on Blu-ray before the end of this year. The Ghost in the Shell blu-ray is quite notable since this "25th Anniversary Edition" release will be a remastered presentation of the original 1995 film, NOT the GitS 2.0 that was previously the only domestic high-definition version of the film available. Personally, I'm thrilled about these releases since my anime blu-ray collection is small and consists of mainly import discs from Japan. Details of each are below: Ghost in the Shell Release Date: September 23, 2014 Princess Mononoke Release Date: November 18, 2014 Cowboy Bebop The Complete Series Release Date: December 16, 2014 Apparently the Cowboy Bebop set is also offered via exlusive versions for pre-order on the Amazon.com and Funimation websites. It's difficult to decide which of these releases I'm excited about most. Regardless, I'll be buying them all. Now there's still a rather large catalog of other anime I want on blu-ray (Patlabor, Spirited Away, etc) but this is a good start. It's about damned time
