  1. From the album: Macross Minecraft Updates 2-22-16

A view of the 2 Valkyries on the elevator from a catwalk
  2. From the album: Macross Minecraft Updates 2-22-16

Not much to see here... Just the port side "thigh," section of the left leg, and the connecting crotch area to the main body.
  3. From the album: Macross Minecraft Updates 2-22-16

The TV monitors at night in their eventual, "natural," lighting
  4. From the album: Macross Minecraft Updates 2-22-16

Althought I haven't started the city itself yet, here we have the beginnings of the large TV monitors seen in DYRL.
  5. From the album: Macross Minecraft Updates 2-22-16

Just showing the buildable space I'll have inside the ARMD's.
  6. From the album: Macross Minecraft Updates 2-22-16

Although they never showed takeoffs, or landings from the runway on the ARMD's, I thought it would be fun to make the runway like a carrier deck, since I won't actually have the Prometheus on this SDF-1.
  7. From the album: Macross Minecraft Updates 2-22-16

A view of the ARMD with a makeshift catapult design.
  8. From the album: Macross Minecraft Updates 2-22-16

Construction of the port side "leg." At night...

  11. For all of you that though that I'm retired from modelling, let me prove that you were wrong! Since my baby daugther born in July, I don't have any time for nothing, but I try to take advantage of any free moment that I have, even if they are just few minutes. So don't expect too much from me this year neither. So, here is my lastest work, one of my first GK purchased here in MW, 8 years ago. This is the original Launch Arm developed by Gundamhead & Jesse. VF-1 obviously is a Hasegawa, the box was made with 2 H-Hanger by Wave, and the Frame and other details were scratchbuilt, based in the following lineart: Model was painted with Mr. Color paints, Valk is detachable due some magnets in the Arm, and in fact, I prefer to display just the Valk in home, and keep the Launch Arm just for exhibitions, just to avoid bending in the arm, due the weight of the Valk. Special thanks to WM Cheng and Jefuemon for inspiring my work in this model with their own Launch Arm versions. Hope do you like it!!
  12. Some time ago somebody at /m/ said Alus is a quirky way romanizing Earth. Then I read the Macross II manga which furthers that theory. Different from the OVA Marduk language English translation. Note: Macross II is a sequel to Macross DYRL. The Marduk have a legend about the Ship of Alus. Alus isn't the name of the ship it is the name of where or whom it is from. If we equate Alus is Earth I can think of one source of that ship, the Protoculture city ship Altira. 20,000 years before the Protoculture left their city ship underwater and left for space as the Zentradi entered Sol. They never returned. (DYRL) The Marduk has been in space for so long it could mean alternatively that home(planet) means a ship. For someone like Isthar the Ship of Alus refers to a physical ship. To Ingues Alus is a planet, he likely longer lived before the legend changed to its present form. Are the Marduk the Protoculture from Altira? Frankly I don't know. However if Alus is Earth there is a connection between the former inhabitants of Altira and the ship of legend of the Marduk.
  13. Two years ago, in 2015, a video of a LEGO SDF-1 on Youtube, inspired me to build my own version from scratch. The build started in LDD (LEGO Digital Designer) which took roughly one year. In 2016 I started to acquire all the needed parts for the build. The build was completed in February 2017. Build time: 2 years Bricks: approx. 11.000 Length: 43.3 inches or 1.1 meters weight: approx 33lbs or 1kg Does it transform ?: No And here are pictures of the completed SDF-1.
  14. Hey all! I'm working on a 1:1 scale Macross (DYRL version) in Minecraft on the PS4 version. I'm having to cheat a bit, as at 256 blocks building height, I can't squeeze the whole thing in. I admit, I should've started with a flat world, but I didn't want to have to create the scenery around it. So, like an idiot, I began with a standard seed, an I find myself spending hours just blowing crap up just to make room to build... I'm wondering if any fellow PS4 owners would be willing to assist in the excavation, and perhaps even with the construction? Serious replies only please? I'd hate to have some troll stroll in, and start destroying everything I've already built... I look forward to hearing your responses! Thanks!

    SD Valk Head Dryfit 1

From the album: Custom DYRL 1A 1/55 Head Project

A closer shot of the dryfit of Bandai SD Super Max VF-1A SD kit's head to reissue Hikaru Bandai 1/55 DYRL VF-1A (which I obtained minus its original head, fitted with an old Jetfire head instead), to check scale & style. Looks in-scale, and the big SD-style eye doesn't look out of place on the big, blocky 1/55 body design.

  19. I have a question about translation of "Macross: Do You Remember Love?" I have seen three different subtitled versions and there is one scene I would like clarification on. After Max defeats Milia on the Meltrandi ship, they hear Minmay's song. Max walks towards Milia and says "Beautiful" (referring to Milia) In subtitle version one, Milia replys "Handsome" (referring to Max). In subtitle version two, Milia replys "Beautiful" (referring either to Minmay's song or Max, depending on interpretaion). In subtitle version three, Milia replys "Beautiful?" (as a question, seemingly not understanding the concept). As near as I can tell, Max and Milia say the same word in Japanese, so the question is, which is the more accurate translation?
