  1. Hmmmm. "Based on the graphic novel". "From the producers of Underworld". Aaron Eckhart, Bill Nighy. I'm sure that we will get the usual barrage of "No", "Not interested", etc from the haters who are going to hate, but there is enough here to get me interested. It's gotta be better than 1994's "Mary Shelley's Frankenstein", so we will just have to wait and see. Anybody read the graphic novel?
  2. Another classic fairy tale hits the big screen this year. Directed by Bryan Singer (The Usual Suspects, X-Men), Jack the Giant Slayer is the latest retelling of the fables Jack the Giant Killer and Jack and the Beanstalk, starring Nicholas Hoult (Hank McCoy/Beast in X-Men: First Class, Marcus in About a Boy), Eleanor Tomlinson (Fiona in Alice in Wonderland), Stanley Tucci (Dr. Erskine in Captain America: The First Avenger, Caesar in The Hunger Games), Ian McShane (Tai Lung in Kung Fu Panda, Blackbeard in Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides), John Kassir (Crypt Keeper in Tales from the Crypt, Adam in Dead Rising), and Ewan McGregor (not like anyone here doesn't know him...). The film premiers in Asia on February 27-28 and in the U.S. on March 1 in 3D and IMAX. Official Site And what's a big-budget blockbuster without a competing mockbuster from The Asylum? Jack the Giant Killer
