  1. I like vintage Macross toys most cos they are the ones I played with while I was young. Still, I prefer a mixture of new & old toys 1) 1/3000 SDF-1 (Yamato) 2) 1/6300 SDF-1 (Takatoku) 3) DX Chogokin Macross Quarter (Bandai) 4) 1/55 VF-1S + GBP giftset (Takatoku) 5) 1/55 VF-1S Strike Valkyrie gift set (Bandai)
  2. Here to give my support too! This project is one mega one and certainly required lotz of knowledge on physic & naval engineering!
  3. 1/55 scale has always been my favourite. To do a carmo GBP, it's way too cool!
  4. Your junior sure has good taste and with big ambition. I guess it's like father like son!
  5. I have recently completed my collection on 1/55 vintage valkyries. Not all are in super mint condition, but it is something I wanted a lot as a kid. Had really spent a lot of money too.
  6. Yamato should also make one for Max & Miria. The double seat valkyrie on their wedding day shown on the original anime!
  7. Here's some of my Macross toys on display...
  8. I searched the internet and found this DVD boxset from a Malaysia seller on Ebay. The casing of the DVD boxset is well decorated and it comes free OST CD. I'm not sure if it is a bootleg but at least the DVD has Malaysia censorship and authenticity seal. The back of DVD casing also has the distributor's name and address printed. Macross Frontier is really enchanting and this is the best anime I have watched in recent years. It a norm that Macross anime would have numerous OST and Macross frontier really mesmerises me with beautiful songs by May'n & Megumi. Since the anime is a production of Macross 25th Anniversary project, it catered to fans with a lot of scenes that were similar or familiar to previous Macross animes. I guess Alto was like playing the role of Hikaru trap in the love triangle between Sheryl Nome and Ranka Lee. Michael and Klan were alike Max & Millia. Don't you think the first time Alto rescuing Ranka is similar to Hikaru rescuing Minmay in VF-1D. A lot of elements like Macross Attack and Macross Cannon, and Minmay Attack were featured in Macross Frontier. In the original Macross Super Dimensional Fortress, Max is the one going after Millia but in Macross Frontier, Klan is the one taking the approach. Ironically, this time round, Ranka sang the iconic 'Minmay DYRL songs' against the Macross fleet. Apart from VF-25, Macross Frontier also recap mechs you see in previous Macross anime/games like defender destroid similar to Macross Zero, Queadluun-Rau from Macross DYRL and best of all, Konig Monster from Macross VFX.
  9. I have watched Macross II several times and not getting of it. It has a lot of fighting scenes and the mechs were cool! Very sad to see that no toys are made except model kits and resin. Macross II has nice sounds too especially the last song sang by Istar!
  10. Thank you for the review! Bought two of these cos it is the first time 1/55 DYRL Max is introduced. I will soon open one to play and blog about it.
  11. There had been very slight yellowing on the chest plate of my reissued 1/55 VF-1S fastpack and on the head of 2001 DYRL Hikaru VF-1A. However we are not really noticeable. I have used 'Meguiar's' plastic cleaner/polish on the affected areas and I hope it helps even though there wasn't any immediate effect. Anyway, 'Meguiar's' plastic cleaner/polish is manned for motorcycle plastic that claims to remove light oxidation. Anyone does good plastic cleaner/polish solution for recommendation?
  12. I'm new to this forum. This is a good piece and I think Takatoku made toys that last. It's rare and costly to one like this nowadays.

I am totally stunned by this piece of art! It's highly complex stuff man! Just how long do you take to do this?
