  1. Congrats! Looks like the kaiju vs mecha theme will have some quality mecha content! Always bet on mecha! I'd like to see that paint job! Sounds badass! Was looking forward to watching them play the Penguins today but got stuck with a long work day. I'll stream the broadcast Go B's! Not trying to start a fire here but has anyone seen this? http://animeboston.com/news/article/505
  2. Great to see Macross will be featured in a few panels this year. Depending on schedules (chaos reigns during the con) I'd like to hit up Heavy Metal, Air Combat and RotV. renegadeleader1, what's Bruinsguy beargguy? david, anime con birthday weekend, go for it. Sunday is kinda beat, the meat of the con is Friday and Saturday, not that it would not be fun but bang for the buck, i recommend Saturday.
  3. Just saw an update, Richard Epcar will be attending AB '15. Awesome! Would bringing the 1/60 Yamato YF-21 be too much?
  4. Hello MW, Will anyone be attending this year? I'll be going all 3 days. Let's hope the snow will be gone by then....

I was blown away by this guys VF-1S, had to get a pic. The helmet ended up looking rederpulose due to proportions, oh well. Good times any way.

I know I could have found it on eBay for the cheap and easy fix but there is somwthing so good about finding Vol. 1 in an old bargain bin. After buying Vol. 2-4 at AB '05 I waited and searched for 3 years to find this!! hence the face.

They stayed in place with threaded fishing line. The needle goes right through the foam :-) Gathered all the exterior fibers to an end point under the green gem. The light made it all the way, end to end. Finished with a laquer spray for glossy looks.

I removed the fibers and gathered them together within the interior dome, dremmel all the way. Within the foam housing inside the helmet I put 2 bicycle lights that offered "strobe" "blink" and "steady" settings. Alternate the setting for Bowmans "freak out" phase

A direct view of the styrofoam with a stencil I made. Traced it with an exacto knife and used a dremmel to carve out the grooves.

Careful now, ease off the tape and hope the edges look ok. They didn't so I used white electrical tape and cut it into thin strips in order to clean up the edges.

Richard Epcar getting bothered. It was really great to attend his panel and hear his war stories. He has my victory Macross Plus VHS in his left hand. Now Bryan Cranston needs to show up & get all Isamu
  17. The reason why I look like a psychopath #1: I was SO tired, it had been a long con... The reason why I look like a psychopath #2: Walking from booth to booth asking if anyone had VHS tapes made people look at me funny, at an anime con of all places too. The reason why I look like a psychopath #3: The prior year I had found a dealer at this very same con who had part 2, 3 & 4 on VHS. and after much searching year to year, I found part 1 three years later at the very same con. It was the only Macross Plus tape they had. Two years after I had this very same tape autographed by Richard Epcar. I was also in costume as Guld Goa Bowman so I guess I really am crazy...
  18. Happy The Super Dimension Fortress Macross Hybrid Pack [30th Anniversary Box] Release Day! I am one of those fools that ordered this beast ( play-asia seemed to have the "best" price..) The ultimate dilemma I am facing, besides the bill, is to open or not to open....The collector in me wants it to remain sealed and pristine while the gamer / Macross fan in me wants to open and play and watch and generally dig around like a pig looking for truffles. Thankfully everyone here at MW have uncovered the fact that the BD of DYRL will be edited for violence. Violent images that are commonly shown in everyday commercials. I still would like to see and more importantly HEAR what the BD has to offer. I still dream of a day when I can afford/find a copy of the Macross Plus Limited Edition Blu-Ray. Now I'll wait while EMS takes, what will seem like, forever.
  19. blasphemy....no..... you have corrected a great injunction against what is called truth. C'mon!!!! Transformers are/have been ripping off the veritech for long enough! You made it as it should be and superbly done. Maybe mike bay <-sp? will get $100 gillion to do a crappy US Macross film. Bay will star in his own movie as Fokker but he wont die in the rewrite! <-more blasphemy.
  20. Hiya Pete! thank you very much for the compliment but compared to what ive seen in the boards here ive got a small fry in the pan but glad you enjoy it here is the shot you recommended. Max & Milia are en route from HK so i should be able to post another pic next week.
  21. Hey MW! i've been lurking the site for some time but never really had much to post about. I just like reading the details you ppl jump into and seeing any and all that is Macross. Mw'ers and hardcore and I have much to learn here. Glad to be a part of it and hope to make a MWCon sometime in the future Quick back story; i was talking to a coworker about anime in general and I brought up SDF and Plus, then asked why there was no more Macross (i didn't torrent at the time but now i unfortunatley HAVE to in order to see the newer series') and he sent me a link to this site so i could get the full story of the attrocities and harm that harmony gold brought to all the U.S. fans. here is a w.i.p. that should have been posted weeks ago. I'm looking for advice but would also like to share the Revoltech fun. Post any ideas / critics / advice. I have seen the Island project by ron and have already bothered him. I look forward to any and all comments.

  23. No posts since '05. Well... I'm on Allston MA on the MAP! go sports. oh wait, im in boston and could care less, whats wrong with that?
  24. I hear you about not wanting to 'Stand Clear Of The Closing Doors PLEASE' <--great automated recording. Not worth being indoors and the bars/restau's did have the cool quality of having hidden outdoor areas. If you go to Murakami, there is a Greek spot that has a pretty nice outdoor area hidden away. It's across the intersection at the corner by the Water Fountain opposite side of the street. His book is $65 and its crammed with his whole life story, influences and thougths behind his work. Lots of fun. If you hit that other figure store give us an update (Image Anime or Forbidden Planet, thanks Sturmvogel). Let us know how it is, I'd like to go back soon and would like to see more spots in the city and Get some Macross Valuable Items!!
  25. I just got back from a weekend in NY and that is one great city!!! There is the http://www.toytokyo.com/ store near St. Marks place that was pretty good, although the only Macross item found was a weird barbie style Hikaru Ichijo Rick.... *_* but they did have the 1/4 size Cloud figure for $400!!! There was also a video game store that rocked! Its http://www.videogamesnewyork.com/?page_id=87&category=40 and it had a good selection of import games and 3 foot tall Mario out front!! Plus I highly recommend going to see the Murakami exibit http://www.brooklynmuseum.org/exhibitions/...CFQ4vHgod_3gdZQ If you ever take the Chinatown bus to Boston let me know. Gotta go to Tokyo Kid http://tokyokid.com/ they have an old VF-1J in the window. Wraith!!! that horrible to know, so sorry
