Yes, it's a very poorly rendered model of the SDF-1 Macross (TV version).

Because it was a bit of background decoration, they didn't fully model it... they just drew a vaguely rectilinear shape and then left most of the details in the texture they applied to the model.  You can see the docking stations absolutely are present in the texture, they just weren't modeled.  You can also clearly see the shape of the Prometheus textured onto the side of it complete with the red lower hull.

Wow I see the Prometheus now.   Well that's a bummer. I was thinking oooh new ship modeled after the sdf clas.

They were the project's original producers/financial backers.

Back in 1980, ARTMIC had changed its name to the Wiz Corporation and was sponsoring the development of a series concept pitched by Shoji Kawamori called Genocidas.  When that failed to thrill potential investors, a more sponsor-friendly proposal for a Gundam parody anime called Battle City Megaroad was thrown together.  That concept was what the pictured Breast Fighter and Megaroad were made for.  Not long after Battle City Megaroad went into serious development, internal issues at Wiz Corp. forced it to withdraw from the project.  It changed its name back to ARTMIC soon after, while Studio Nue shopped its orphaned project around and found a new backer in the advertising agency Big West.

Ah okay.  I didn't know that ARTMIC changed its name then back again after some internal issues happened.  It IS funny to note that after macross was completed Artmic did Mospeada.

It's not really discussed in the show proper, but an episode of Delta Mini Theater from the Blu-rays does explain the technology.

The model is "LF6se Multi-Device", a device the size of a press-on fingernail that includes a holographic display, vital sign and bio-fold wave monitoring, and communications functions with a 30km range.

I'm surprised the tech can be made into the size of a press on fingernail.

I haven't watched Earth Chapter in a long time.  I recall it feeling really cheap, as if the studio had no money and just pasted together something to have a release.  I seem to recall it taking the plot off in a direction I really didn't like or felt followed from what was established.

Rhea Gall Force was done by Artmic AIC, same as Eternal Story and Destruction and Stardust war.   Earth chapter was done by Studio 88.

Which in, some ways, is the sequel to Bubblegum Crisis.  ;)

I think Artmic made the ultimate time loop, with Earth being formed by a cosmic war between mechanical-biological "robots" and human-like aliens (that ends with the formation of Earth), whereupon Earth's civilization develops to the point where they create mechanical-biological robots that start a war on humans, and humans have no choice but to flee the Earth with the mechanical-biological robots chasing after them, thus starting the cycle again!

Yeah, I have a feeling that GORN, with some of the infrastructure still in place, might start amassing war material to attack the successors to the six girls that left the earth.(I bet you they might develop cloning tech or use the ships med tech to give them both girls and boys.)

Chaos, of course, being Earth's moon and a virtual paradise that 'Adam' and 'Eve,' (that being the newly born male and I think the younger of the women on the ship) escape from when the surface is destroyed. They escape to Earth, while the Solnoids and Paranoids apparently wipe each other out.

I never did like that ending...

and then it led to Rhea Gall Force where humans, after attaining some of the tech from the Blossom, fought a desperate battle against the MME. Its a nod to Terminator of course but without the time travelling person/robot.

Veteran anime fans (sounds so much nicer than "old", doesn't it? :)) may recall the parody "10 Little Gall Force/Scramble Wars" shorts. In "Scramble Wars", the finishing point of the featured race is a place called Bangor - which also happens to the name of the real town that was the home of Anime Projects, who distributed AnimEigo releases in the UK. I never have been able to find out if that was a coincidence or intentional!

    Hah. Either or maybe?

  8. I know there was a topic a while ago but honestly I found the series interesting.  We had two alien races, one the Solnoids and the other the Polymorphic Paranoids who can inhabit armor fighting a century long battle. Mid way through the first movie it borrowed a bit of aliens where a implant seed alien was sent to the ship to start a plan for a third race between the paranoids and the solnoids  that would, possibly, stand between the two.  But removing the seed caused a change and a male was born.  They after other deaths, land on Chaos, set up defenses and try to make out what's going on.  After Rabby, he solnoid in charge . finds out the truth by the blossom's computer,t he rest of the movie was to keep the kid away from both forces so they used the terraforming system to destroy the the surface....

Let us speak of that no further... for politeness's sake.

Pretty screwed... but, luckily, actually doing that is impossible without incredible levels of mechanical amplification that are only possible with the most advanced overtechnology that the ancient Protoculture could muster.  The Delta Wave System the Protoculture built for that purpose was so massive that the individual amplifiers/resonators occupied a significant portion of the crust of multiple planets in the Brisingr globular cluster and the completed resonator was nearly a thousand light years across.  The whole thing depended on the Star Shrine on Ragna, and that was taken out of action in the Macross Delta series shortly after being activated, so actually Var-ing the entire galaxy or even a small portion of it wouldn't be possible anymore.

    Ideally... but it's probably impossible.

For one, the ultra-high purity fold quartz necessary to produce the fold wave amplifiers that the Tactical Sound Units use is prohibitively expensive due to its scarcity.  You either have to dig it out of Protoculture ruins or hunt Vajra semi-queens for it, and neither of those things is what you'd call a healthy lifestyle choice.

For two, individuals who have fold receptors and are able to activate them and produce sufficiently powerful fold waves to have an effect are vanishingly rare.  Xaos is an interstellar megacorp and despite holding frequent open auditions for Tactical Sound Unit membership they've only been able to turn up about 10 people with usably-strong fold receptors in the eight billion-strong population of the Brisingr globular cluster: the three members of Tactical Sound Unit Thrones and the seven members of Tactical Sound Unit Walkure.  Two members of Walkure quit due to stress, one only joined under duress (Reina was given a choice between prison or service), and of the two that were actually powerful enough that they could manage the weaponized Var syndrome on their own (Mikumo and Freyja) only one was actually recruited while the other was a weaponized clone of a Protoculture bio-android.

One person out of eight billion was a powerful-enough fold singer to actually combat Var syndrome.

Yup... the biological fold waves in fold song that trigger or alleviate Var syndrome only have a short range unless mechanically amplified.

Heinz used the shrine aboard the Sigur Berrentzs and various other mechanical aids to amplify his fold songs enough to reach the other worlds in the Brisingr globular cluster.  Even then, he was only able to reach one planet at a time and the effort involved was such a strain on him that it significantly shortened his lifespan by depleting his runes to the point he was bedridden by the story's end.

(Fun fact, there's a Macross VF-X2 reference in the additional equipment that Berger Stone mentions.  Part of the amplification system that the Epsilon Foundation provided was Die Zauberflöte - the fold quartz-based communications system created by the Critical Path Corporation as the basis for the Sound Jamming System in Macross VF-X2.

Okay. So not the whole galaxy.  Got it. Thanks for the info.

    Thanks.

This is what I have....sorta. (I'm using some non macross people here for my fanfic which is a mutli-series work

Within one of Neo Tokyo Airbase labs, Sylia Stingray and her assistant were gazing the large corpse of the fallen Zentradi through an an armored observation window. The other was in a stasis tank, being held there for observation in the larger holding area.  Above the corpse was were several medical tools and instuments and few sensor cameras on several waldo arms.  She a point on her face shield glasses and tapped a wrist band activing the waldo arms above them.  With a hand gesture she brought two arms to cut Sylia frowned when she noticed something as they removed the deceased zentradi's clothes.  The jumper he wore bore the emblem of the Taiga Corps; which was the semi independant anti kaiju unit.

"Sylia he's with Taiga corps...." Nene Romanova noted then pointed to the one in the stasis tank.  He too had the markings of the Taiga Corps on his CVR-3Z armor.  "This guy too!"

"Huh. Check the database, see if we can identify them..."  Sylia hummed thoughtfully.

"Right," Nene nodded and went to work.  Sylia tapped a metallic wrist band and started to control the waldo arms which were over the corpses body.  Two arms descended and began to pull the corpses clothes off.

"Cybernetic left arm and cybernetic right leg. " Sylia took notes as the fully disrobed.

"Spinal enhancements and back support added," she continued. If one didn't have those added bits, you'd rip the arm out of the socket once you tried lifting anything.  She frowned when she saw the additional pop up thrusters on  his back.  "Curious. Why would this be an option?"

"Maybe he wanted to take it to the kaiju personally?" Nene shrugged as she followed Sylia along. "Also Who HASN'T wanted a flight mode?"

    "I don't." Sylia sighed.

"Sylia your old battlroid had valk wings which had thrusters on them." Nene pointed out

    "Moving on..." Sylia sighed.

Nene winced.  The last time Sylia was in her battlroid, several of her team mates died fighting The Inspectors.  Sylia retired from active combat after Priss left.  Nene stayed despite Sylia giving her many opportunities to leave. She just couldn't abandon Sylia.  Not on her darkest days.

    "Sorry." Nene muttered apologetically.

"I'm cutting into the chest cavity now...." Sylia stated as the cutting instuments cut into the Zentradi's greyish flesh.

"Im always impressed by how delicate you are with these," Nene noted at one point

    "Practice." Sylia smiled faintly.

Sylia removed a few of his organs....which looked perfectly fine except for the heart which was pieced through by a pike of some sort.

    "Emma?" Sylia looked at Nene.

    "Fraid so..." Nene sighed.

"Well....she did provide us a corpse. But Taiga corps wanted them both alive." Sylia noted.

Sylia continued until she got to the spine and noticed something wasn't quite right. Nene did too.

That looks more like computer cabling than nerves..." Nene muttered

"Someone did a lot of modifications... I think we'll need to crack the skull open, too." Sylia hummed thoughtfully.

  11. So I've been working on a bit for a fan-work where a semi Borged out Macronized Zentradi goes really rogue, he's impact staked by a nontransforming battroid and now they're doing an autopsy on him  Giant table and all. Doctor is using telepresent bands and goggles to display what she's doing via sensors on the waldos.

So my friend goes.....what if he's booby trapped better have the doc elsewhere...and I had the doc walking around.
