  1. So all the Bandai reissue come with screw on Heat shield and not the clip on heatshield like the old Bandai VF-1A?
  2. Feel better after hearing that coz I did not receive one that is faulty, so it means I have to do some filing on Hikaru's butts.....
  3. I never had any 1/48 up to date. I love the extra gimmicks on 1/48 but they are way to large in scale for me, and it doesn't look as details as 1/60 V2 when the scale get bigger. I'd rather have all valkyrie scheme in same scale, instead of duplicating them in both scale or skip some scheme here and there. Space is an issue, money is big issue.
  4. anyone has problem fitting Hikaru figure into VF-1D cockpit? It seems like mine just don't sit deep enough so actually Hikaru's helmet is contact with canopy so the canopy can't fully click into the nose. I have read the extra instruction comes in the box to put Hikaru figure in and I think I am fine, but it just don't sit deep enough to clear the canopy. And man the Minmay figure is rattling in the back seat.
  5. There are more pictures of the VE-1 now at Yamato website. Anyone know how to capture these pictures from flash? http://www.yamato-toys.com/items/detail.ph...nk=index_pickup
  6. write an email to Overdrive, since these are exclusive Yamato online item, any other online stores just can't simply put them on their site. and for $33 you only get 6 pcs of them! not a complete fast pack set in clear.
  7. I think limit 300 units is marketing talk to drive you buy that sucker.
  8. The good thing about Yamato V2 box is the fact that's it's smaller, and it has the genius 4 flaps at each side so it's a lot easier to remove the toy without putting creases on the box. Simply put, I'd like to see some diorama scene they can make with the toy with different setting like in loading bay, maintenance, space shot for each release, and a nice paint art on the window like the old 1/55 Bandai did. In fact, they did it on V1 so why not do it anymore? I like the fact that Bandai box art has white background and those text and arts really bring the box out, I hate those black background like Yamato did and you get confuse with those flash text on black background. It's all about contrast.
  9. 1500 yen, $33 plus shipping on Overdrive.
  10. Yamato did it again with weathering on 1/60 Max VF-1S, 300 unit limit release only on their website.
  11. I like the old Bandai 1/55 chunky box art the best, and in fact the only one that caught my eyes was the Strike VF-1S, moving forward from the deck in fighter mode following by 2 Super Canon folders. Wow........
  12. I think most people are getting rid of it to get the evolved V2. The V1 was amazing toy when I first got it in 2007, I meant it was the best VF-1 valkyies toys ever made after the junky monkey. If you put V2 and V1 side by side now you will see how streamline it is for V2 especially on the legs and chest plate. I sold all my V1 in 2003 for what I paid.
  13. does anyone know is it a typo or wrong image on HLJ website? http://www.hlj.com/product/YMTX-01
  14. I like the 1/60 V2 better, it's in good size and well engineered. When I look at the 1/48 in battroid mode with the screws exposed at the back, it's kinda turn me off.
  15. anyone know where else can I get the VF-1D now? HLJ seems like put it backorder now.
  16. They change the eyepiece painting, the old bandai has Hikaru 1A eyepiece painted all green. Now they have black trim around it which is more anime correct.
  17. Price in HK should be cheaper than HLJ. HLJ is selling them at the price with Japanese domestic tax included, you should usually get them for cheaper price. Toys are produced in China, then distributed to Japan through HK. I got my valkyrie stand for USD30 and ver 2 1/60 VF-1S with fast pack for USD109.

    My first Bandai 1/55!

well, if you break it then you should be banned from touching any toys.
  19. It's huge......... seriously, gotta be very careful when you transform it from Battroid to fighter, the hip just seem tight. Gotta release the chest plate, with some force to push the hip bar upwards to release it out.
  20. I got mine yesterday, it's so beautiful. Forget about V1, the V2 is almost perfect. In fact, the production toy is much better than the prototype, with almost invisible seam line. Transformed it once, everything works fine and hold up firmly. Need practice to swing the shoulder plate though.
  21. The eyepiece on the 1A head has more details and they have finally gotten the correct shape. The previous eyepiece on the 1A head is upside down.
  22. Ironically, some people want PT without having to swap anyting or add on anything. It's a great touch to me with the covers nevertheless. There is no way to make every mode looks good since animation is animation after all. I'd prefer the valkyrie to look accurate in fighter mode. Yamato did well in this new line in all 3 modes, IMO.
