i'm really sad about this VF31 DX more and more paint scratch appear
imagine attachment of armored parts more paint being scratch
Or, since it will be back heavy and with lots of thing going by the wing (with the Armored Pack), you can just probably remove the container pod so you don't need to fold the hinge.

It’s frustrating that Yamato did not make a lot of separate Fast Packs/Fold Booster sets for their reissues of the YF-19/YF-21 toys. Every time I have seen one for sale they want an arm and a leg for them. Has anyone on the forums ever try making a 3D printed version of these parts or at least the fold Booster ? Or even a place that maybe sells somewhat close to the MSRP?
Are you still looking for one? PM'ed you a link if you still need it.

You can also check out @Jefuemon's blog site for inspiration as well. I know he does kits. But same thing applies also when you custom your DX Valks.

You're welcome. I do remember seeing a Blue and Red 'Dancing Skull' schemes in the VF-4 Master File but it's not the same as the one featured in the M3 game.
Would be nice too if Wave decides to do these 'packs' on their VF-4 as an add-on set based on the Master File book.

I hope they release a Hi Metal R version of it,
Hi-Metal R YF-19 that comes with a small Dildo Booster? Thank you, but no.

What if they did a 1/48 treatment for every Valkyrie under the sun? Will you then start?
Like what I mentioned above, I'll just get Hikaru's ride: VF-1J, Super VF-1A, and Strike VF-1S as a centerpiece.

Oh no I meant Iron Fist. DD was good, the best of all the netflix marvel series imho.
Shoot. I misread it. Thought you guys were talking about DD after that teaser video. My bad. Hahaha!

I think that most of us got the 1/60 valks first and then got the 1/48 later on.
1/48 takes it to another level of valk experiences and feeling. If I had a choice, the 1/60 will be on the chopping block if I'm strapped for cash (minus few a few that I'll keep) as I'm not getting rid of my 1/48.
Not me. Once I started with the 1/60, I've already read some negative stuff about the 1/48. And also, I don't have enough space for 1/48's. Have you seen how big the boxes are?
And IMHO, the 1/60 is such a great size for me since it sits very well with the rest of my figures. So getting this new 1/48 is like, getting something as a centerpiece. I'll try not to restart my VF-1 collection with these new scale if ever Bandai decides to do more. I'll just get Hikaru main rides in doubles.

I saw on facebook that maybe the VF-19 wing boosters don’t peg in right to the YF-19 wings, like they swapped the pegs. Has someone tried them and they fit right?
*snip*
In case, you missed these a few pages ago. Somebody already done it.

Those are some pretty bland paint schemes. Maybe based off of Milia’s red VF-17? Don’t have my VF-4 Master File handy and don’t recall if those schemes were depicted in it. I would have preferred something with more white in it like their VF-1Js. Could always do it myself, I guess...
Those Lightning scheme was based from Macross M3 game.
And from Macross Mecha Manual:

Ok to watch s2 without catching s1? Read and heard s1 was pretty bad. Perhaps I can just wiki it to get the gist.
S1 of Daredevil was pretty bad? I'm not sure the whole season but I can tell you that the first half of it is so good.

I am a bit surprised that so many here apparently haven't had hands-on experience with the 1/48 Yammies. I must be getting old.
I joined late in the Yamato game so I don't have a 1/48. And I couldn't afford it back in the day when it got released.

I watched it again the second time and I didn't see any locking mechanism for the backpack when it gets folded. Would it just hang loosely or the hinge will be stiffer but gets loose over time?

This toy looks gorgeous.
Too bad Bandai does not release the FastPack at the same time.
Because 'officially' the VF-1J didn't had the Super Pack in the series.

Yeah, that's the crux of the issue. From what I gather NY are scummy and the worst. I doubt there's a chance for a reissue of this figure, right?
I know NY doesn't have a good customer service and it has some bad practice on how they do business, but I'm not calling them the worst. They still trying to deliver people's DX VF-31A without asking for additional payment since we don't have evidence if they're getting those from the secondary market with price increase.

Wow Bandai is killing it with their Valk releases. I regret not acting fast enough to pick this beautoful bird up. I wonder if this DX 1/48 VF-1 is similar in size to Arcadia's 1/60 VF-0. Arcadia better step it up.
If Bandai's upcoming 1/48 VF-1J will share the same size as Yamato's old 1/48, then yes, it will be similar in size with Arcadia's 1/60 VF-0's.

Was wondering what's holding you back to reply in this thread
Ain't this 1/48 VF-J a beauty??
I have one on preorder with AmiAmi.
I was just busy earlier here at work. And I saw that video during lunch break. Hehehe.
And yes, she's a beaut. I didn't regret ordering two. And I'm sure I'm going to order two if they announced Hikaru's Strike VF-1S or Super VF-1A.

Anyone else notice that the center part of the back (the part that folds out to let the head rotate through) folds inwards so the backpack can fold flatter?
It's the little things that really show how much thought they put into this.
11 minutes ago, Slave IV said:Wasn't that a feature of the Yamato that they copied as well?
7 minutes ago, Sanity is Optional said:I know the 1/60 Yamato/Arcadia VF-1 figures don't do that. I haven't actually transformed either of my Yamato 1/48s yet.
Yes, the Yamato 1/60 VF-1 v2, along with the current Arcadia 1/60 VF-1 releases does that. You have to push it inward passing the tabs on its sides.
From Jenius' Anymoon site showing VF-1 back panel. I already set it to play from that section so hit play.

I'm assuming your manual is still in its original 'taped' plastic sleeve?
Or you could just check out @jenius' Anymoon site for review. Anyways, kidding aside, glad it worked out fine.
