  1. I wouldn't say the demand is low for Macross Plus. The previous Yamato revisit sold well enough to do a reissue. The VF-11B still generates enough interest for people shelling out top dollar. Personally, I believe it's really the cost that prevents it from being sold out. Had it been cheaper, I'm sure multiple purchases would be considered. With all the QC issues, lack of tampo printing and no display stand included - it is pretty hard to justify the luxury cost for this bird. I agree with you that I expected more from Arcadia and Kawamori for the price I paid. They should have taken their time with it rather than push it's release date. However, I can't cry over spilled milk. It is the best YF-19 toy in the market right now. Perhaps some fans are waiting for a sale? I'll jump on another one if that happens.

I have to agree that it is the best yf-19 in the market and it is way over priced. :)

well... as i like to transform my toys, it could have been better

the other option is to buy 3, one for each mode to get 100% satisfaction on this release if you want perfect yf-19 on display

  2. This YF-19 does not look like a hot seller...

as it is still in stock everywhere

I guess the demand is pretty low for macross plus

Otherwise I have to admit that I am not happy with this bird for all reasons mentionned previously :

The ankles, the wings are pretty bad and the paint issues during the transformation were way overlooked during the developpement process from Arcadia !

at this price, it just deserves a 6.5/10

My YF-19 already received a re-painting with my airbrush ! it is a bit sad to have toys that are not problem free during transformations nowadays....

Seriously, at this price I was expecting more from Arcadia

  3. Ok, got my Alto from HLJ today. Only checked a few little things, won't transform until tomorrow or even the next day, but did check opening gear/canopy etc, and transformed just enough to put the gunpod on. A few little niggles/quirks/questions:

    1. The canopy seems to securely click closed, but the main section is a little higher than the windscreen. Inherent, common, fixable?

    2. Left side seems overall more secure/flush in fighter mode---notably how the left wingroot lies alongside the leg, and how "high" the leg is in fighter mode. If the entire fighter was as flush/tight as the left side, it'd look amazing--but the right side, the leg seems to "sag" just a little bit, making a bit of a gap/seam all around it. (and the right leg panel which you open for moving the ventral fin seems to never quite close)

Overall, my -27 seems to be more flush/secure in fighter mode---when it's together, everything goes EXACTLY into a certain spot. Despite being a later design/mold, the -25 renewal seems to have fewer pegs/tabs/clicks, relying more on "hinge friction" to hold it together---everything seems to stay in place, but only about half of it really seems to go in as tight/flush/close as it possibly can.

    My canopy is fine

but regarding the wing, you should try to rotate the legs inward in bit it will push the wing section a bit down

if it works you can glue a pre-cut piece of residual photoetch on the tab in the wing section (it would be invisible)

BUT FIRST : you should check if they did glue correctly the plates that hold the wings !

  4. For those who have the wing falling off too often : an easy nice fix can be done with fishing wire on the small peg (not the main one)

wrap the wire on the small peg with the wing into position and make a good knot (wrap 3 times)

    * first advantage : it is not noticeable

    * second advantage the wings will be closer to the back pack in fighter mode and gerwalk mode

    * third and final advantage : the wing will stay in position during transformation as it the wing will put less pressure on the main peg

===> mine did not stay once after 5 transformations and it was enough to annoy me, so I found this trick :)

I used 0.40mm wire for info

the day you get the fast pack : remove the wire by using a sharp zacto blade !

now you can all enjoy this toy that has dreadful nipples in battroid mode :D

  5. The two white dot on red part in the back are not even scratched - they are sprue cut point and was probably cut after the part was painted.

I think one part that may scratch is the front tip of the battroid head - you can see the scratch in this review: http://gamu-toys.inf...x23/dx2302.html

Be careful with the pins that hold the wings - they may pop off and then hide in some invisible corner of your room.

Also when going back from B to G/F mode, make sure the moving panel at the back of the chest armor moved to the original direction, as in page 11 step 8 drawing 1. Otherwise something very hard to see will be blocking the cockpit and you will be trying to push it very hard.

thks for the info CF18 :)

That's how they're supposed to be.

hello, I did not say that bandai made it wrong, I was talking about the original design :p

I should have been clearer I guess.... :)

  6. A really nice toy, still waiting for mine (It should arrive next week I think)

The only thing I wish that the design could have had is : the knee parts, it looks weird without it in battroid mode

Do you guys have to be really carefull during the transformation regarding the painted areas ?

or is it only on the backpack that the paint tends to scratch on this release ?

    :)

  7. well, it works fine too I guess but my method is easier :p

my personnal confidence in superglue is 50/50

it tends to cracks when fully dried when pressure is applied...

superglue on ball joints for exemple does make the job at the begining but if you move a lot the articulation it tends to get loose again with time...

but I play too much with my valkyries I guess ^_^ but its works

  8. Looks great, but I wonder just how much more stress that would cause on the joint.

    hello

    no stress I think,

This is how yamato has designed the joint : a rubber part which touches the plastic part that connects the screw is suppossed to help the leg to stay in position

so the articulation works from the inside with a bit of compression between the rubber and the plastic and that is why there is a small gap when you look from the outside

my trick just fills the outside gap that you can see on my first pic...

As long as you can turn it easily without more efforts, there is no stress I reckon :)

  9. Hello guys !

The VF-11B is one of my favorite

I really like the gerwalk mode but the leg articultation is bad with time the legs tend to bend outwards easily and the valkyrie just collapses

so I found out a trick that is really simple in order to correct this weak point of the VF-11B

you only need one thing : a 0.30 mm fishing wire (the wire must not be too big as you don't have much room to fit it inside)

you do not have to dismantle the toy at all

You must wrap the fishing line around the joint and pull very hard and make a knot tight.

the fishing line will be hidden inside and your toy will take extreme poses!
