  1. Just wanted to point out that the F-111 was originally designed as a Navy interceptor under the “TFX” program. It wasn’t until Robert Mcnamara, and his “wiz kids” decided to cut costs that it also had to be an Air Force Bomber. The plane that ended up being produced as the F-111 was way to heavy for carrier work and a naval version was never built. The Navy still wanted their interceptor, and ended up with the F-14 “Tomcat”. As for the most underrated fighter? Well I always thought the F-5E and the one off F-20 were better than most people thought.
  2. I can't believe no one mentioned the worst film from the 80's. HOWARD THE DUCK Gotta agree with those that hate ST V, Starship Troopers, and Highlander II.
  3. P-47. Most people like the sleek lines of the P-51, but for a flying milkbottle, the P-47 was one beutiful airplane. F-5E Tiger II I have always thought this was one of the coolest look airplanes ever built.
  4. I ordered 4 packs one for each of my 1/48s. The shipment was sent by EMS. On the FP subject, Man they are nice. I doled up Roy and Hikaru and man oh man do they look good. Yamato has hit a homerun with these. The only problem I have is that the single micro-missles will not stay in their holders on the boosters, so that rulues out leaving the covers off if I want them to stay in.
  5. I just got my FPs in today. I ordered them from HLJ and when I got the shipping notice Tuesday evening I figured that I would see them in a week or two. Much to my surprise they arrived in Florida in less than 48 hours!! That's scary if you have ever ordered something from HLJ!
  6. All of the above. Basically I always looked at the GBP-1S equipped VF-1J as the "When you care enough to send your very best" type of getup. In other words it's the VF-1 that I would want to pilot, simply because of the shear amount of destructive power available at my fingertips.
  7. My first Yamato was the infamous YF-19 Version 1. Believe it or not she still has an intact “B-tab.” My next Yamato was the even more Infamous VF-11. I have 2 of these and both have suffered damaged hips. I have at least one of every Yamato issue since then, none of which have had any QC issues. I did damage my VF-19A by dropping it about 6ft and had it land on the canopy, which promptly broke.
  8. Wow, the new board looks nice. Thanks alot Shawn and Graham, for updating and running one of my favorite places to hang out on the ol' internet.
  9. 1/72 = 12 1/60 = more than 20 1/48 = 4
