  1. I actually found Scarlet to be the weakest as far as acting the part, everyone else exceeded my expectation, especially Mark Ruffalo who i had great doubts for when i heard the casting. I watched it over the weekend, but i'm taking my kids to go see it on Wednesday, i'm sure they'll be just as happy with it as i was. I'm going to do the "Cool Dad" thing and take my son out of school a little early by writing him a note that says "He has to see Dr Banner today, he doesn't like it when we're late and you wouldn't like to see him when he's angry".
  2. Don't forget that the '13 Genesis now uses the hi output 276HP 2.0L turbo as well, so better fuel economy about the same performance as the 3.8 and should be cheaper too. This is the last year of the RX-8, i've seen dealers let go of the R3's for as low as 22k since they're not moving, and you get sedan insurance instead of coupe insurance just be prepared to pay for the savings at the pump. V6 Mustangs aren't bad, interior is crap but decent performance, and like you said the Focus ST is coming out which promises to be great.
  3. I recall reading somewhere that Air Bending (as obvious as it is) is the most spiritual of the bending disciplines and so it was more natural for Aang to fall into the AS. Korra having little to no air bending mastery and in that regard "spiritual enlightenment" would IMO prohibit her from entering the AS. As for Amon,
  4. I'm still waiting on my MGS Solid Snake to show up but i received my Cyborg Ninja (Gray Fox) about a week ago from a local seller, sculpt and proportions are excellent but similar to what Shaorin was saying about balance with Solid Snake holds true for Gray Fox. the joints on my figure are actually all very tight, and the figure is highly articulate, unfortunately, i blame the feet themselves, where the feet are heeled and the right foot is slightly flexed contributing greatly to the figures instability. the only other Play Arts figures i have are the Advent Children FFVII figures and they came with stands and a bunch of extra hands, both accessories would've been greatly appreciated with Gray Fox as a stand would've contributed to stability and extra hands for the left hand in particular would've helped a lot aesthetically. Gray Fox's left hand just looks kind of awkward in a rested slightly open state, no fists or wide open palm, just what it comes with. The right has two hand variants although i can't see why since the first thing you'll do is chuck the standard hand for the sword holding variety. Overall I like the figure, i did find the lack of a thigh swivel (they went with ball joint instead) a bit of a disappointment for some of those dynamic "ninja" poses, but overall the figure is very fun and an excellent representation of the character from the video game. *EDIT* Almost forgot that it comes with the gun too which is pretty cool as well; mine is always equipped with the sword so i never use the gun but it's still well sculpted and his arms don't lose any flexibility on account of equipping it.
  5. Liefield is awful, i avoided his comics in the 90's and still do today. I like Lee (even his early work) and the only widely known criticism of Lee's work is his inability to draw feet. Silvestri wasn't terrible and he did get better over time, but i preferred the late Michael Turner's work to Silvestri's. Turner's work didn't have a ton of diversity but he at least understood perspective and anatomy (even if the anatomy was always super model perfect or body builder perfect).
  6. i know i'm late on the Viper thing, but a nod to their Fiat influence is the Alfa Romeo style center grill triangle post. I'm actually very impressed with the styling, it definitely has a more german/italian appeal to it but doesn't take away from the fact that its roots are/were American. Not a lot of good shots of the interior, but hopefully they did a bunch of work there because the Viper interiors were always junk.
  7. That's bound to happen when you share platforms, i think the new Fusion is going to be a hit personally, I think it takes what was great about the 6 and follows it up with the right touches. The Aston Martin inspired front grill i think is the most attractive piece of the car, and if they really do stick with the I4 (w/turbo options) over the V6 then that would be a smart move.
  8. The 458 is really the only Ferrari i've liked since the 360, I didn't care for the 430 or any of the FR cars they've had since the 550, and haven't liked any of their flagship supercars since the F40. I think when you look at design in relation to your market, Hyundai is making extremely likeable cars, obviously they're not making super cars so it's an apples to oranges comparison. I like seeing Hyundai's design and engineering direction (almost all of their new lineup will have direct injection, and in a lot of cases a turbo to accompany it) and when i see new designs from them they're class leading. Look at the new Sonata against any of the cars in its class; it's to the point where the other manufacturers have to play catch up... to Hyundai! Ford is trying to make their Fusion look like an Aston Martin and is even deciding to steal a page from Hyundai and build their chassis around a four cylinder (no shoehorning V6's). I can see the comparison of Hyundai to Mazda, but being a Mazda owner (RX8, 3), i can say that i prefer certain Hyundai designs over what Mazda currently has to offer (the 6 still sucks and the Sonata looks better, 3 trumps Elantra and the RX8 is discontinued but the '13 Genesis Coupe is a good looking car). Ferrari's design is obviously going to be held to supercar standards, and 458 aside, i don't care for the rest of their current lineup compared to other super cars (past, present). I will absolutely agree that the 458 is some hot crap, there's a Ferrari dealer not five minutes from my house and i see Ferrari's on the road all the time, it never gets old seeing one drive past you.
  9. So i won an ipad2 in a local raffle a couple weeks ago, which is perfect timing since there's now a jailbreak for A5 devices, can't wait to get all of the jailbroken goodies i'm used to on my iphone4 onto the ipad2. I can't say that i was ever in the market to purchase an ipad2, but getting one for free was a pleasant surprise, the kids love it and it's great for watching movies in bed with the wife.
  10. I agree with derex on the used ZO6, i actually wouldn't mind finding a used C5 ZO6 as they're finally dropping way down in price. I've driven a few C6's and found them extremely spirited, even a little scary, but fit and finish left a lot to be desired. It wasn't simply just the raw materials used there's definitely an atmosphere to the interior that makes it feel kinda cheap, a lot of those quality annoyances are easily overlooked by performance, and it's not like cheap interiors is exclusive to the Corvette (in Chevy's lineup). As far as the GS package, i agree, you basically get all of the goodies from the ZO6 (brakes, fenders, bumper, dry sump system, etc.) but not the motor which for the average person the LS3 has more than enough power.
  11. Add me to the list of people who aren't impressed with Acura's new design direction. The TL was a great looking car one generation ago, now i can't tell if i'm looking at the front or the rear when one drives by. I don't know anyone who owns an RL, and the TSX got a whole bunch of shiny chrome bits that make it look ridiculous.
  12. i remember playing Syndicate, that game was hella AWESOME, i don't feel the same nostalgia looking at these screen caps though. I gotta agree with JB0, as much as i loved Syndicate, this is just a marketing ploy to give this game some brand recognition there will probably be little to no resemblance of the original game from the 90's to be found in the finished product. That's not to say that the game won't be good, it just seems pointless to resurrect a 90's namesake and play with my emotions like that.
  13. It never made sense to me why manufacturers set their O/D gears so low it seems. My RX-8's O/D gear is practically useless, in the Corvette 6th gear is not even feasible unless you're tracking like 80mph, in my car, 6th gear is still at 3k RPM at 60mph. As much crap as i give Chevy about... well everything, they definitely set their ratios right in their transmissions (at least in the Corvette anyway). The new Mazda3 SkyActiv is supposed to get 40mpg, i've seen real world figures for that car at 38mpg mixed driving so that's pretty damn good to contribute to your argument of how dumb a smart car is.
  14. This is going to be awesome, can't wait! The wife and kids will be happy to hear this.
  15. I started watching this series and have caught up so far. the Z-Apocalypse is a frequent topic of discussion amongst my friends so I was pumped to start watching the show. Honestly, I don't know if the show is that "good" in the traditional sense. I'm not sure if i watch it because it's entertaining, or because i know right after each episode i can call my buddy up and we can critique how retarded the characters behave. I think at this point, i'm just using it as a stimulus to discuss z-apocalypse with my buddies and how we would execute a plan amongst the chaos, or putting ourselves in the place of the characters and role playing how we would've done things differently. Regardless of why i watch it, i'll keep up with it, it's the only mainstream show on television that's following this genre so there's not a whole lot of other places to turn to get a fix.
  16. they're pretty well known to become rust buckets, so finding one isn't hard, finding one without rust is a whole other story.
  17. People still do that, they drop chevy crate 350's in them, those old cast iron I6's where really heavy, the rest of the car is feather light without it.
  18. I'm curious to see how balanced it is with a V8 up front. I don't know why they haven't put the new Direct Injected Head on the 2.0L like they did with the Sonata and get it's power numbers up to 276hp. Even with the V8 model, i'd still go with the 2.0L turbo, lighter, better gas mileage, and easy to obtain the same or more power for less money.
  19. That's an awesome motor! I've driven the 335d which uses it and it has pickup for days, great motor choice, plus it'll be easy on gas.
  20. wow, you're back! Haven't heard from you in a long time, glad to hear you have some projects in the pipeline. The E7 looks pretty sweet (for a cop car), i wonder who they're going to source the turbo diesel from?
  21. I really liked the first few episodes and then it dragged a bit until they found the book of omens and now it's dragging again. The quality of the animation is high, but i feel like the story moves along well and then it gets stunted with a filler episode, it really breaks up the story's momentum.
  22. I do pentesting as part of my job and it all depends on what you might be exposed to. I can tell you the last thing i uploaded to virustotal i was surprised to find that McAfee McAfee-GW edition and VIPRE were the only three to catch the wrapped virus (of course the aim is for it to go undetectable).
  23. I got a TVR Speed 6 vibe, but it strikes me more as intriguing than gorgeous from the outside, but definitely felt the same way about the interior "creamy" for some reason sounds like the right adjective.
  24. The movie is nothing but awesome quotes, "HAHA! Threw that poo before i walked in da room!" The pilot for the cartoon looks good enough, i'm sure the episode roster will have some real standouts and some real let downs like all animated shows, but it's definitely worth tuning in for.
  25. The local Z has a lot of custom fabrication done to the rear, it's wider and has custom tail lights, that must've cost a pretty penny.
